We aren't winning because of DC... We are winning because teams either shoot themselves in the foot Non-Stop or Evero and the defense stand on their head and hold a team below 14...

"None of the wins are legitimate, its just the other team shooting themselves in the foot" is such a dumb and tired argument. You can say this about any team and any win. I mean was there any legitimate win this week or did every losing team shoot themselves in the foot?

    The excuses, keep on coming.
None of it is related to his diminutive size and the suspect arm that requires attention to the mechanics and footwork to operate at a competitive level.

I hope one day he proves all of us wrong so you can look better but right now you just look like a guy in denial.

You twist my words to try to gain brownie points or something, not sure why you do that. Talking in absolutes will always come back to bite you in the butt. The facts are: QB's have been miserable here and improved somewhere else and cited a miserable environment in Carolina. That's just the facts. Bryce could be done in the NFL after this season, sure. He also could "rediscover his love of football" and look great somewhere else. It just is what it is with this crappy franchise.

Mayfield and Darnold should be exempt from Bryce comparisons. They have the tools and physical measurables that he lacks.
    It is apples to oranges.

Bryce has no comps really, if he is to succeed he will be the first of his line to do it.
The closest comp I have been able to find is Flutie who was practically identical in height and weight, but with a much stronger arm and I am pretty sure more mobility also, but different era. The arm advantage can’t really be argued, so the comp breaks down.

I don’t know how saying that is hate. It is just reality. Not that you specifically said it was hate but the general theme is if you don’t believe in his abilities and say so, it is hate.
I will tell you, I have hated 90% of the last three seasons with him at QB but if he did well, and could sustain that, I don’t think I would snipe at him.

There has been plenty of QB's with "physical measurables" that have failed. Again, it is entirely possible Bryce is completely defeated mentally and that is causing his perceived lack of accuracy and arm strength. And that a reset somewhere else, on the bench, without pressure, fixes that. And again, the same poo was said about Darnold and Mayfield here. Its not a coincidence that both of them "rediscovered their love for football" somewhere else and are now thriving. Taking this stance that "oh but Bryce will NEVER be able to do the same" is weird because....what if he does? More backtracking by the same posters?

  4. Bryce sucks for sure. But there is a clear disconnect between the coach and the QB. One of them is refusing to throw it deep. I refuse to believe Bryce can't throw it deep, when he has before, both in college and the NFL. Either Canales is telling him you can't, or Bryce has zero confidence and doesn't want to take the risk so he just doesn't... either way it doesn't matter because the disconnect is so noticeable there's no way Canales goes into next season with Bryce as the starter, he'd rather resign. You can just tell by his interviews and coach speak

No one is going to take Bryce as a backup.

you need your backup to be able to come in and run the same offense.

The panthers have spent multiple years crafting an entire personnel group and offense around his limitations.

San Fran or La or whomever aren’t going to bring in a backup qb with no upside they can’t even complete the route tree.

    dudes done after Carolina

You're letting your hatred for him cloud your judgement, you can't say with 100% certainty that Bryce can't play anywhere else, especially since everyone here said the same about Darnold and Mayfield and are now backtracking to say "well they had the skills all along"... absolutely nobody was saying that at the time. You are forgetting that the Panthers are currently a poverty franchise that taints everything they touch, it is absolutely in the realm of possibility that Bryce sits for a few years and then looks like Mac Jones does right now. But I agree that it won't happen here, and the Panthers have to move on.

I get the sense most folks on this forum skew a little older. We’ve all watched enough football to know the difference between a Hall of Famer and a guy who just isn’t it.

If you’re still looking at what Bryce brings and convincing yourself he’s something he’s not, you’re just holding on to the wish that we didn’t screw up the #1 pick.

I'm not, he doesn't have it... I just think bringing up his overall record is is irrelevant, especially since we've seen QB's in bad situations with bad teams go somewhere else and start winning, its just short sighted thinking

Bryce is a good kid.  Everything I see about him makes me like him.  OFF THE FIELD

But he is not going to take us to the promised land.  Dude has an 11 and 25 record.

For every game he wins he loses 2

He's 5-3 this year. NFL is the epitome of "what have you done for me lately" business. Bryce isn't good but nobody should care about his rookie season record, just like they don't about Darnold's

  8. The only way Bryce should get an extension is if they make the playoffs and play decent in the playoff game, which means he needs to go 5-3 the rest of the way to win the division, or 6-2 to get a wild card. There is no reason whatsoever to give him an extension otherwise, its not like he is going to hold out if he doesn't get one

  9. AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks.

Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do.

If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game.

Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks.

If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks.

I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.

I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.

Well, Andy Dalton, or haters, or you know… related. But touché.

When you go into this area you are complaining about complainers. Making you a complainer too. So….

Maybe I'm tired of opening a thread and its the same poo over and over. And its pretty clear that some of the posters here are actively hoping the Panthers lose because they distaste Bryce so much, even at 5-4. It's literally a worst case scenario every week if the Panthers win, and that gets super tiring very quick.

And I like you try to manifest that I am a "Bryce Lover". I've said over and over since Week 1 that he isn't it and begun looking at draft prospects (who all mostly suck and won't be any better than Bryce)

If we were to go through your post history what percentage do you think might be, at least tangentially, concerning Bryce Young? As in shading people who are not fans or Bryce Young as our QB going forward, or directly responding to the mention of his name or the criticizing of his play, etc etc. ?
You don’t contribute to this environment, like ever?

    Bryce Young?

Shaheen to the Seattle is a steal, that dude is a legit burner. I would trade every WR outside of TMac for Shaheen straight up

Agreed, I think just upgrading XL to Shaheed would have been a fantastic trade deadline. Alas, the Saints are in our division.

Horn Jr. has looked decent though, and Bryce doesn't want to throw deep, so we are probably fine until we figure that out

  13. I wonder if the Cowboys outbid us for Quinnen. I thought he would be perfect here next to Brown but I couldn’t see us offering a first, maybe 2 2nds and a 3rd. But that’s a good deal for the Cowboys

The only disadvantage Dalton has vs Bryce is immobility. And Bryce doesn’t have all that much mobility on him. He almost got pulled down on that 4th down scramble that he got whacked on. I think it was that one, and I don’t know how that didn’t happen.
Andy went really mental last week, it wasn’t his normal operating mode.
So despite his advanced age and decline, Bryce doesn’t really have much on him.

No. Bryce has a lot of faults, but he at least stays calm in the pocket, can extend a play longer than a second, and is way better at 3rd/4th down conversions than people give him credit for. Dalton would panic and get sacked or throw it nowhere close on 4th down

Just about everyone I have ever seen that was a first time HC, mostly successful coordinators, said there was stuff they couldn’t have imagined.
Canales only had one season as a coordinator. A steep learning curve should be expected. Help in the form of a mentor would have been a good idea.

He has former head coaches on staff. Capers and Caldwell
