Well, lets see...
Hes currently on pace for 12.75 INTs
Hes lost 1 fumble, so 4 fumbles lost
Hes on pace to be sacked 47 times (ouch)
IDK about "deep pass connections". What constitutes a "deep pass"? DJ Moore currently leads the league in receptions of 20+ yards. Is that considered a deep pass?
He's at the bottom of league in deep passes completed (40+) yards
I just don't want you to get too comfortable as Teddy had the same optimism on here after his first 4 games and look how that turned out at the end of the yearSam still has a long way to go

Hes on pace for 5000 passing yards and 40 total TDs. If that ain't franchise QB then IDK what is. And we're a quarter of the way thru the season so its fair to begin that extrapolation.
How many turnovers, sacks taken, and deep pass connections is he on pace for?

Next year he sits on TNF, no matter who we play
Edit: Or we just treat it like a preseason game and play the backups
-
Sam has done well and exceeded expectations but he's not a franchise QB or top 12 QB yet, so we should still consider upgrading if he doesn't play himself into that conversation by the end of the season

Teams aren't trading offensive lineman in this climate, there's a severe lack of talent at the position and just having a good one is a big advantage
-
Someone on NFL Live said it best. NFL is moving towards needing 3 lockdown corners who can go man-to-man in order to play successful defense. Gone are the days where you need just 1 and can play cover 2. There's a lot of talent at WR in the league right now and teams are going 3 wide all game.
-
24+ teams the league are hurting at o-line, there simply isn’t enough to go around. I don’t get all the “but what about the o-line” posters in the Gilmore trade thread. Nobody is trading decent offensive linemen, and if they are it’s a decent offensive lineman for two first round picks (Tunsil) are you really willing to do that?

Big surprise.
I'm sure that no matter how things go, it will never be good enough for some fans apparently.
Good thing the main person that determines whether they're "sold" or not is Rhule.
Looking forward to a bounceback win against the Eagles.
Stop belittling others for correct criticism. Anyone that watches football sees that Sam is walking on eggshells out there, feels like he can blow up any second and he did just that in the 3rd quarter. He is young and has room to grow, but the panicking in the pocket and not getting rid of the ball leaves a lot to be desired.
We all want the Panthers to be great and win the SB.

Defense is fine, its the first time we got tested all season and we punched them in the mouth in the first half, played with two CB's that hadn't been with the team all season, and it would have been fine had the offense not turned the ball over/crapped out in the third quarter.
I'm still not sold on Darnold. He had some huge 3rd down conversions but still panics in the pocket and will make a lot of dumb mistakes or take dumb sacks instead of getting the ball out. That compared with our really bad o-line means we aren't going anywhere in the postseason. The good news is that we were a year away still anyway, next year is when we should have the talent to be a juggernaut with the cap space and another good draft. Just depends if we get that quarterback or not.

How are there not 32 kickers in the entire world that can kick a field goal accurately
like literally there are only 10-12 in the entire word of what 8 billion people

I think they have had this game circled, been saving stuff on offense and it comes out this week, we confuse the Cowboys and win. The national media talks about us all week as a 4-0, superbowl contender, and then we lay a dud at home against the Eagles next week and lose. This is the way

I mean he had a Randy Fasani level game, so it's certainly cause for concern.
Uh, even Randy Fasani managed better than 1 yard passing. Fields played the whole game btw.

I don't care what your team around you is, if you have a day like this:
1 yard passing (played the whole game)
47 yards of team total offense
then your fans that wouldn't shut up about how we made "The biggest mistake in Panthers history" need to be called out
Simply put, if you are a NFL caliber quarterback, you can do better than 1 yard passing in an NFL game

If you watched the game it had little to do with Fields.
Sorry but if you start and play an entire NFL game and you lead your team to 47 total yards with a statline of 6-20 and take 9 sacks....you are part of the problem

The Giants are putrid, how can you rebuild for four years and have that team
-
Its official, Bears finished with 47 total yards
Probably the worst QB performance since Nathan Peterman
What a bullet dodged

Derrick Brown is a beast but this is a super bowl team if Herbert went one pick later. He is unreal

bears lost 4 yards on their final drive, 47 TOTAL YARDS of offense in an NFL game?
-
What's the success rate for QB's who lead their teams to 51 total yards in an NFL game in their first start?
-
I don't see it from Fields. Didn't see it before the draft either and was happy we passed on him.
The Bears have a horrid offense though so there's not much you can take away from it, but Fields just seems like Trubisky 2.0 with worse passing but better scrambling. Brutal for bears fans.

Can you imagine Luke Kuechly playing with this talent
I honestly believe we wouldn't have allowed a touchdown yet\
What a ridiculous turnaround from two years ago

That would have been a good keep sake edition that had our beloved Muhsin Muhammad featured on the cover.
I still have mine. Shame we couldn't pull it off

Touches are fine, monitor hits. I don't know why anyone has a problem with this. This is sports science.

If you thought Darnold was bad then you have an agenda you are sticking to.
102 QB rating.
No agenda. We are all hoping the Panthers and Darnold are good. We played the easiest team on the schedule yesterday and he struggled to score. Made a lot of one-read throws.
Here's hoping its just Week 1 jitters...but I don't know how you can view that performance and say he played well.
Teddy had some good ratings last year too, yet the narrative here was that he sucked and needed to go.

You were literally so excited we had a franchise QB after Teddy's start last year... do I really need to point out the threads?
