I was more referring to Brian Burns having an excellent game
Chicago winning (just hate them now)
Atlanta looking better this week (if you still have a hope for playoffs lol)
and basically nearly every other team in the league looking at least somewhat competent in their games besides us
Tennessee might go 0-17, they are that bad. Maybe they win one or two after their fire their coach.

If we draft a rookie in the 1st and keep Canales, we are going 4-13 or worse next year, so I don't get the point in keeping him. We'd have to hit a one in a million draft pick and I just don't see this team doing that.
I don't know why some of you are celebrating this loss, this just proves that next season is pointless as well unless we go after a veteran QB
-
Just going on eye test without looking at stats or metrics or whatever
Mateer looks and plays like Herbert and Mayfield.
Mendoza reminds me of Mariota, I would be worried about him the most in the NFL. Just kinda that same offense Mariota was in, it may take a while to transition
Sellers, some mix of Cam Ward and Roethlisberger, if he could be accurate passing downfield... the rest of this season is critical but as of right now I would be worried if we took him as well
Nussmeier reminds me of Kirk Cousins
I want no part of Manning, Allar or the Clemson guy

I can't believe he said that. "I can only do so much"
Bro, you aren't even trying out there. The film doesn't lie.
Completely out on this guy. Maybe we can fleece the Cowboys again for a 2nd rounder

Dan might have got 5 eventual starters out of this draft. Maybe this PFF driven drafting strategy works.
Well he only got one last year, a 5th rounder in CSW. Its a shame because there was so much quality talent around the XL and Brooks picks. Maybe he learned

Renfrow isn't in playing shape, he can't block and looks so small out there. He'll be better later in the season once he gets his legs and strength back. It really blows that XL isn't there mentally. I hope Tet plays. I came into the thread looking for updates and instead we are talking about Adam Thielen's wife.
We need Coker back ASAP. If Coker can stay healthy, He's a good #2 to Tet even if its in the slot. David Moore can play for now since he actually blocks and knows what he's doing, even if he's slow. I like Brycen but he needs more time to learn blocking

Renfrow and Brycen are getting trucked when blocking, that is why David Moore is playing. Those two got to get stronger. I know AT isn't doing anything in Minnesota but he at least was a serviceable blocker. Renfrow will probably shine later in the season when he gets back into playing shape

It's the most important and impactful position and it's not close. And on top of being bad, Young makes the O boring. PJ Walker bad would lead to more convos. Because the play would be more entertaining and there would be zero concern the horrific nature of the QB spot could extend beyond this year (and that is why the convo stays on Bryce because the threat remains).
This is why people are tired of these posts.
Bryce has been bad no doubt, and he has to play better or we will be looking for a new QB after the season. But the same 5 posters in every thread suggesting that PJ Walker or Sam Howell or Aiden O'Connell would be winning more games is asinine and borders on delusion. None of those players are better than Dalton and he was AWFUL last year.
There are about 10-11 serviceable QB's in the world - Allen, Lamar, Herbert, Mahomes, Stafford, Goff, Dak, Baker, Love, Daniels, Hurts (and only because he is playing on a stacked team, Hurts would be bad here), Daniel Jones (who I think is a mirage and will Darnold back to earth), and we don't have one. It is what it is.
Replacing the 29th best QB with someone in the 30's or 50's isn't changing a damn thing on this team.
Both Bryce and Canales are to blame. The offense cannot be this bad with this much invested in it. Even with Bryce not throwing downfield, Canales has to scheme better and be more creative. We have a talented running game yet everything we've ran so far is very vanilla.

Fold? He averages about 270 yards per game in the playoffs with a 12:3 TD:INT ratio.
He literally fumbled the game away against the Commanders of all teams last playoffs

Let's start Dalton then since he has more than both of them
Edit: My bad, Dalton never won in the playoffs despite going there 4 times, yowzers
How did that go last year again?
If anyone is moving goalposts it's you. Conveniently ignoring how shitty the QB play has been across the league.
Bryce has not been playing well, but so has 20 other team's QB's. There is no simple solution. We draft another one, they have a 80% chance to be the same or worse.-

wasn't it baker that requested a release?
yep. Baker is a mental midget who will fold in the playoffs like always

In his first two seasons Stroud has 1 less playoff win than Cam Newton in his entire playing career.
We can be realistic without trying and failing to dunk on others.
Who the fug cares, this is a "what have you done for me lately" league and Stroud is 0-3 and the Texans offense is the worst in the league.
-
Looks like the Texans have to move on from Stroud too, since he's playing worse than Bryce
Titans, Raiders, Texans, Panthers, Vikings, Falcons, Saints, Jets, Patriots, Cardinals, Jaguars, Dolphins all don't have QB's, and the draft appears to suck. Guess we are SOL

Anyone notice how Bryce had no pressure up the middle? Mays is so much better than Corbett

I think multiple things can be true.
1. Panthers need to move on from Bryce, who isn't good enough.
2. Bryce will almost assuredly go somewhere else and be way better, we will get dragged through the media, but that's just the way things are.
3. The Panthers will draft a QB who will be pretty bad to average, and we will repeat the process all over again and look for another QB in 4 years. This is just who we are as a franchise.
This is why you build for defense not offense, and hope you get lucky with a Jake or Cam type that can give you just enough on offense

The secondary has been awesome through both games. And that's with a laughably bad pass rush
-
Purdy is better than Bryce.
I think if you swap Daniel Jones and Bryce Young the Colts are still 2-0 and Panthers are still 0-2 though.
Either way, there are only 6-8 teams happy with their QB play and we aren't one of them. We aren't alone. And it's not going to change next year if we draft a new QB, it's very rare to get a reliable, above average franchise QB nowadays. And even with Cam, we got 3 good years out of 8 with him. Same with Jake. 2003, 2005, 2008. We are definitely a "have not" franchise
-
Stroud just isn't good and hasn't been for a while. Only in the first rounds of playoffs lol
There's a quarterback epidemic going around, only a few are consistently playing well week to week and the next chunk beyond Allen/Lamar is very hit and miss..and that includes Mahomes the last few years
-
There's not a single rookie in this draft that's going to make us win more than 3 games next year. If you want to start winning, going to have to look for a vet.

All these QB's suck and if we draft and start one next year prepare for another 2-15 season
The only one that has looked ok is the Oklahoma QB Mateer
-
If they come out and struggle getting out of the huddle and snap the ball at 1 or 0 most times again, I am completely done with Canales, he doesn't have what it takes to be a head coach. fuging fix it.

App St.'s coaching must have been that bad, because Joey looks so much better at Tennessee.
Had the pleasure of doing a private dinner for him and his offensive lineman last year, great guy

Sure am glad we have all these couch potato GM’s who can declare a guy is trash a couple years into their career. Yall should apply for open positions next year.
I think most of the board wanted to draft Keon or Ladd, and Frazier in the 2nd round with our picks

I mean, Hunt and Lewis were free agents. Not sure that counts.
Whiffing on (big money) FA signings can be catastrophic, so I'd say it counts. Remember Matt Kalil?

I think Dak would be really good on a properly built team.
