  1. You are forgetting we are at home, where we play much better, and the Dolphins are on the road, where they play much worse.

I think we win, and this starts the McDaniel will be fired talk. Still think we only win 4 games, but Miami at home is probably the easiest we'll have all season

Is Coker coming back? I thought he was eligible this week

  2. Teams likely going to draft at QB
    Saints, Raiders, Panthers, Jets, Browns

Teams thinking about drafting a QB
Steelers, Rams (time to groom someone behind Stafford), Dolphins (Tua seems to have run his course), Titans (If Cam Ward goes 0-17 and gets Rosen'd and they completely clean house which is possible), Cardinals (maybe one more year from giving up on Kyler), Eagles (I think they take one in the top 3 rounds because Hurts doesn't appear to be making progress as a passer)

That's an awful lot of teams and so far the draft class isn't that solid so that's scary. I think for sure 4 1st round QB's get picked, and probably 5, and Allar could be the 6th at the end of the 1st.

So yeah, Sellers is getting picked. I just hope we end up with Dante Moore, Mateer, or Nussmeier, and not Sellers, Mendoza, or Allar. In reality 4 out of the 6 will bust, and I don't think we are skilled/lucky enough to pick the franchise QB.

  3. If they want to draft a 1st round QB they can’t keep Canales, otherwise you are locking into him for 3 more years. If the Panthers suck the rest of the season you have to do it.

I think Day will be the next Harbaugh if he jumps up, but I doubt he’d come here unless Tepper would throw eleventy billion dollars at him.

It's so obvious that the offense is handcuffed by the QB position. Some folks complain about everyone constantly complaining about Bryce but he plays the most important position in the game and when your limitations are hamstringing the entire offense you're cooked. Bryce is not the reason special teams had an awful day and he's not the reason our LBs suck but he is the primary limiting factor of our offense and that is consistently putting our already had defense in terrible positions. The QB spot is our biggest roster issue. It's just that simple. No, having a legit QB wouldn't fix all of our problems but it sure would create hope and lead to a much different overall fan vibe.

The problem is many, many other teams have this issue and the draft bust rate is as high as ever. Cam Ward looks worse than Bryce did his rookie year and he just went #1 overall. We saw how bad our other QB's were in the preseason. Put in Hooker, sure okay he might run a little more, but we are still getting blown out and our WR's still won't get the ball.

Er... what?  Stefanski has not been good the last two years, nor has their offense.  Stefanski definitely requires a competent QB (no knock on him here). Flacco was miraculously good in 2023, but since, they're one of the few teams with a worse offense than the Panthers.  Hell, over that period we've put up 100+ more points than they have...

Look beyond the record, the Browns compete despite complete zero's on the offensive side of the ball due to Watson's cap hit and injuries to players. Now, we have just as bad as an owner if not worse, so maybe he wouldn't win any more here, but I think he's a good coach who gets the players ready to play

When you don't have a QB you don't have a chance so yeah, if the QB you invested massively into giving up a lot of roster building capital to acquire sucks then yeah, that's your biggest problem in terms of roster issues. Keep making excuses for Bryce and coming up with new and increasingly entertaining mental gymnastics to try to cover for him but it is what it is. We would have hope if we had a QB. We were ass Cam's rookie year but we were all excited because we knew we had a QB. All other roster deficiencies are easy fixes compared to QB.

Derailing threads? Man you derailed your own thread in your initial post. LOLOLOL

Actually you can still have a chance when you don't have a QB. John Fox made it work with Tim fuging The Golden Calf of Bristol. Quincy Carter made the playoffs. Mark Sanchez.  There's plenty of data on teams competing hard, even when not winning, when they have a terrible QB. It's hard, but you can.

Something tells me if you put Dalton in the rest of the season the team will still go 4-13 or worse. There's no excuse for Panthers sucking all three phases. Canales clearly can't figure it out, or he doesn't have the balls to make changes, so he has to go. He's running the same poo. He and Evero both. There are no adjustments at halftime.

  7. There's some good pieces here, but the team has no direction or leadership, the GM appears to be in over his head, the owner has no idea how to hire the right people for the job and gutted the culture out of the team, the head coach is a decent play caller but not a head coach, and there are crappy QB options in the draft and free agency so we basically have to hope for a miracle.

I say forget about the offense and just start drafting defense until the right QB and coach comes along. At the very least you can be a good defensive team with a running game

Have we not already seen that?  On paper the Dallas teams have been pretty good the last few years.

I mean Dak is still a top 12 QB. Have you seen the QB play around the league? If ya'll are too picky to take someone like Dak, then I don't know what to tell you to fix our problems here. Just keep drafting QB's for that 1 in 10 shot they'll be a top 10 QB? Theres been so many bad QBs lately

I was more referring to Brian Burns having an excellent game

Chicago winning (just hate them now)

Atlanta looking better this week (if you still have a hope for playoffs lol)

and basically nearly every other team in the league looking at least somewhat competent in their games besides us

Tennessee might go 0-17, they are that bad. Maybe they win one or two after their fire their coach.

  10. If we draft a rookie in the 1st and keep Canales, we are going 4-13 or worse next year, so I don't get the point in keeping him. We'd have to hit a one in a million draft pick and I just don't see this team doing that.

I don't know why some of you are celebrating this loss, this just proves that next season is pointless as well unless we go after a veteran QB

  11. Just going on eye test without looking at stats or metrics or whatever

Mateer looks and plays like Herbert and Mayfield.

Mendoza reminds me of Mariota, I would be worried about him the most in the NFL. Just kinda that same offense Mariota was in, it may take a while to transition

Sellers, some mix of Cam Ward and Roethlisberger, if he could be accurate passing downfield... the rest of this season is critical but as of right now I would be worried if we took him as well

Nussmeier reminds me of Kirk Cousins

I want no part of Manning, Allar or the Clemson guy
