Bears always blow their picks, only think that hurts is that we should have traded Burns instead of Moore

vikings are trying to trade up further in the first i suppose and just wanted this done so they didn’t have to rush on draft day

i think they stay and select one of the two centers if they are there. we need an elite center.
but yes the furthest i would trade back is 36-40. and need an early third at the minimum

Wow, shocked he went just for this. He has a lot of talent

Burns was worth 2 firsts, and then he sucked for a year and half and got older, so he isn't.
Basically the jist of it
The return is disappointing, but the team just has to draft better and we'll never get better until we do.

I'm open to drafting a guard or center at 33. Interior OL is our biggest issue on the entire team.
-
I would 100% trade him for a first round pick if that were available.
If he was good against the run, then that's an easy player to keep as your cornerstone. But he just isn't. He's a one way, situational player and just isn't worth the 30+ million a year.

This team will be ruthlessly used to up FA's prices with other teams this year...if their agents are smart.
Why would you overpay someone who doesn't want to win? And yes that is what coming here would mean. It's lose-lose on the top tier guys. They should be targeting guys who need to prove themselves or need playing time or both. The top shelf guys are a waste of time.
Again, players do not care about winning when it comes to free agency. they want guaranteed money and comfort. Evans could have gone to the Chiefs if he really wanted to win, but guess what, he just wanted to stay in Tampa and get the bag

players want money and comfort in free agency. they don’t give a poo about winning

Oh I am sure that's coming. Just because I don't believe in deleting history and changing everything to conform to their way of thinking. I am going to be called a racist.
Well, its history that in the early 1900's "redskins" was in fact a slur towards Native Americans akin to how the n-word or "negros" were to refer to black people. So yes, if you see no problem with a team calling themselves the Cincinnati Negros, then you might be a racist.
The only reason "redskins" wasn't more controversial when the team had it is because Native Americans are such a tiny minority of America (sadly) that most people were ignorant of it and there was little media pressure to change it.

Chiefs have bad facilities, arrowhead is old, and the owner is cheap with hotels/accomidations/etc. Part of the reason why players aren't really pining to play there and have no qualms leaving. Although most players in free agency just choose whoever is paying them the most. That's why "player X isn't coming to this dumpster fire (Panthers), he wants to play for a winning team" isn't a thing in the NFL. Players just want money and quality of life

I would tag. He hasn't proven the contract he wants.
And given the choice of Evans/Higgins or Burns for the same money, I'm taking the WR every time. NFL has just moved that way now

not sure why we have these topics, they all turn into the same rehashed poo by the same posters

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but outside of a few years that's basically been the history of the Panthers.
I agree with you, but unless we luck into a Mahomes, Allen, Burrow level talent, which is very very hard to do, we might as well follow the blueprint of the teams that have won SB's without those elite QB's or at least build a team that is competing every year in the playoffs than have nothing at all.
The huddle thinks that grabbing that elite QB is easy and is frustrated that we haven't done it yet. Its not. Again there are 3-5 elite QB's in the world at any given time and 32 NFL teams.

This year honestly needs to be all about evaluating Bryce. Is he the guy or not. You need an answer by the end of this year. I have a strong inkling to what that answer is gonna be, but Tepper has to GTFO of the way and let the football people make that call.
Can he do what Mahomes did tonight? Can he put a team on his back on the biggest stage and drag them across the finish line? If no you need to keep looking. Because we just saw a really good game manager on a STACKED team come up short because the other team had a dude. It's really that simply. You have a dude or you need to be looking for a dude.
3-5 teams have elite QB's. If you keep chasing the elite QB, you are gonna be bad for 30+ years. There just isn't that much QB talent in the world unless the NFL changes the rules to make the position easier.

i don’t give a poo about Purdy, but you guys are acting like it’s easy to improve the quarterback. Really, what are they supposed to do? There’s like 8 good quarterbacks in the world and only a few can win the Super Bowl
-
There are only 3, maybe 4 QBs who can win the Super Bowl. How do you suggest the 49ers should improve Brock Purdy. Trade for Joe Burrow or Josh Allen? Like be real here
-
Micic is the point guard we've needed off the bench for 20 years. Feels like we could never fill that role properly except for the one Jeremy Lin year
Finally adults who are unselfish and look at the difference it made. Terry, PJ, and Gordon weren't leaders. And we got two (nearly) unprotected picks out of it too)

Go with a deep cut that no one else would have.
Legedu Naanee or Kris Mangum
-
We got 2 future almost unprotected firsts and Micic and Mann for players that dont' move a needle in Rozier, Hayward and PJ
Only bad part was taking back Grant Williams contract, but at least he can play in the rotation and is still young. Maybe with an expanded role he goes back to his Celtics form

Get rid of the coach and gm and surround him with talent
It's a given they will completely clean house in the offseason. Rumors are swirling that Mitch will step down after the trade deadline. Honestly if Miller didn't look this good, we'd be in a world of hurt. Now there is hope and I think Budenholzer would come here with the talent we have

So we overpay. That's the true panther way.
You guys need to forget about guys like Higgins and Evans. They aren't coming here. Period full stop
This isn't the NBA. Players don't only want to go to the top franchises. They want guaranteed money first and foremost. Free agents almost never look for fit or to win a ring.
No matter how down you are about Tepper, Young and the Panthers (and yes, we all know, you do nothing but post how much you hate this franchise, with no other insight), the players don't think that way.

You dont trade away what we did in order to be able to run a QB hiding power run offense.
Bryce needs to not fuging be the worst starting QB next season.
That's why I said if that's all they wanted to do was try to win the NFC South
They can Mitch Trubisky him and probably do it
I think Bryce will be fine. If not, we'll have a top 5 pick and just try again
Michael Gallup to visit with Panthers

I'd rather develop Mingo. I think its fairly obvious our receiving core will be DJ, 33/39, Thielen, Mingo, ISM unless Mike Williams comes at a discount
