The reason why I'm leaning the Panthers?  I think an argument can be made that we have the best OL, running game, and defense on the field today.  

That is usually a recipe for winning football games, especially on the road.

On the other hand, Shanahan is a phenomenal coach and the 49ers have been in this spot countless times.  I don't even think we had a TNF game last year, so for Canales and many players, this is the biggest spotlight they will have played in as an NFL athlete.  On top of that, the injuries at the LB position could be a big problem against this offense that loves to attack that area of the field.

With vegas, it is always 

coach plus qb plus injuries  that sets the spread 

the 49ers have the advantage in all of those plus homefield

the spread is large 

that said, the Panthers need to learn how to prepare and play off their usual schedule, on the road, against a quality opponent  in a national game that matters  

Vegas isnt wrong often

i sincerely hope they are wrong this time 

between tonight’s game and the game against  the Rams, who i believe ate superbowl bound, we will learn a lot about Young and Canales 

i really want to be wrong about Bryce   I really do.   

The Panthers have nothing to lose particularly with the Rams taking care of the Bucs

I will say there could not be a worse game for mays and the linebackers to be out 

i feel their chances are a lot better against the 49ers than Rams and they really need to get one of them

The Panthers will be without three key starters during Monday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, the team reports Saturday. 

Linebackers Christian Rozeboom and Trevin Wallace, along with center Cade Mays, have been ruled out on this week’s injury report. 

Rozeboom’s hip/hamstring injury and Wallace’s shoulder injury kept them out of practice all week, while Mays (ankle) was added to the injury report on Friday.

I listened to a knowledgeable professional 49ers podcaster this morning do a through breakdown of the panthers

he said

 1. the panthers trio of TEs and how the Panthers use them could  give the 49ers fits.  
 

2. Said young team just needs a draft or two to fill some spots  

3. very high on Scorton

4. Side note says the 49ers hate A’shawn Robinson and he hates them owing to his time with the Rams   

5. Conversely he didnt see any way the Panthers could stop CMC given the linebacker injuries

i have friends who met  mickey mantle when they were young and he was a belligerent alcoholic at the time  ut broke their hearts 

I had the opportunity to meet and spend  time with Cam Newton.  
 

He was the polar opposite of Steve Smith and his public image.  

Polite.  Honest when asked question.  You could tell the things that mattered to him and the things that  didnt. The disappointments in himself and the things that hurt him 

those qualities make him quite a good interviewer too 

i genuinely liked him   Im sure as young, rich, sports hero, he has not been a choir boy but there is goodness in him 

the time i met him i took one of my friends with me from the west coast. She said she didn't like him and wasn’t enthusiastic about meeting him.  She left loving him   No one can say anything bad about ‘her Cam’ anymore
