They mean should he be extended now, without ever having played a down. They mention the exploding WR market as the reason for asking this.

Alex Smith is his ceiling imo
KC wasnt taking home any rings with him as their QB even with a stacked team around him.
That kind of play can get you to the playoffs and thats about it. WC weekend going home.
I'm sure most people would be happy to have that after all the previous years under Tepper. Five winning seasons in a row plus 4 years of playoffs is a lot better than what the Panthers have done since the last SB appearance.

Not true.
If you don't like what I post, don't open the threads, don't read the posts, or put me on block so you don't have to see it.

It would also anchor the team to the city
That was supposed to had been done when Richardson got the money for his improvements a few years ago. But maybe Tepper doesn't think he has to honor the deal Richardson made.

An injury here an injury there and this defense could be the leagues worst
It's not going to need injuries to be at the bottom of the league. It was there last year despite some cherry picked stats showing otherwise. Opposing teams basically scored on the Panthers' D at will. Nothing done this offseason shows me that things will be any different this upcoming season.

The Los Angeles Lakers offer Dan Hurley $70 million, he declines, and now it’s viewed as a “lowball offer”.
What!?
And now the Lakers are rumored to have James Borrego as their top pick.
Can’t make this stuff up.
I saw that Hurley got a big offer from Kentucky that was worth as much or a million less than the Lakers' offer. He'd have less games, work, and not as many egos to handle if he stayed in college.

One recommendation I do have for anyone reaching Medicare age. Look into signing up for a Medicare advantage plan. My mom signed up for it last year, and it is well worth it.
My mom has been on medicare for five years or so now. It gets worse over time and they pay less each year as they shift medicines from one tier to another. She has an inhaler and they started making her copay higher than what they paid last year. Thankfully, the local pharmacy she uses started giving her the generic version for less than her copay as the price for the name brand version went up.

I'm honestly surprised that big tobacco hasn't shifted to lobbying hard FOR marijuana legalization. Tobacco use is declining. They need a new cash cow.
I remember being told years ago that they had their factories all setup for marijuana if it was ever legalized. Don't know if it's true or not though. As for lobbying, they probably don't because they're so far out of favor with the government and have been content with their other cash cows.

These are the people that remind me of that guy that brings up the dumb cringey thing you did with a girl in high school when you're talking to a new girl to try and make you look bad and themself look better.
It's like, dude, yeah, that sucked and I hate it and want to move on. Please stop bringing it up every chance you get. It's annoying and makes me like you less and not want to hang out anymore.
Maybe timeouts are in order for those derailing all the threads.

I was kicking around doing that the other day because you can't post anything about the team without someone making a snide comment or choosing to poo on Bryce completely unprompted in damn near every thread.
The toxicity from last year is still carrying over.
With the way some act like they hate the guy, it'll probably continue until Young isn't part of the team any longer.

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Tribal Council has voted to amend Tribal Code to allow the sale of recreational marijuana, opening the door for North Carolina's first recreational marijuana dispensary to open on the Qualla Boundary by the end of the summer, despite the drug being illegal in the state.
QuoteDuring a June 6 EBCI Tribal Council session, the Tribal Council approved Ordinance 63, revising Chapter 17 of the Cherokee Code to change language from just allowing medical marijuana sales to allowing recreational cannabis sales. The ordinance was passed in an 8-2 vote, with Tribal Council member Dike Sneed and council Vice Chairman David Wolfe voting against.
QuoteThe timeline sets the opening of North Carolina's first recreational cannabis market for August.

The Panthers going cheap at WR and fielding one of the most anemic offenses in NFL history isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for the concept.
I don't think he was endorsing the idea of going cheap at WR so much as he was pointing out how Jefferson is making so much more than every WR on the Panthers' roster combined.
As for what the Panthers currently have, I'm not expecting much except for the guy they traded for to show out or at least attempt to. He's in a contract year and wants to get paid after all.

Well, we’re likely to be resetting the clock after this season or next on a new rookie QB, so there’s that.
It's definitely a possibility. That said, hopefully Young shows he's the guy so the team can improve and focus elsewhere.

You can pay this kind of money for a WR1 as long as you can draft a WR2 like Minnesota did.
And have a QB on a rookie contract

140 million with over 36 million in signing bonus for 4 years. 110 million guaranteed.
Resets the WR market.
States the Panthers whole WR core costs less than 25 million a year while Jefferson will be getting 35 million a year.
Wonders where teams will start looking to go cheap with having to pay QBs and WRs so much now. They didn't mention how much edge rushers are getting and how that adds to the trouble of building a roster.

Right, 13 near center City like I said. Now take into account most of if those are actually cut off from the rest of the area unlike Charlotte and have a similar population with not much else to bring in 50k to the city every home game and it's a fairly unicorn situation. Why is that hard for you to understand? It benefits Charlotte unlike other cities.

in the location it is, yea! it's not that common. not to mention charlotte FC is using the stadium as well.
point me to the vast number of other cities that are similar? im waiting.
Here's a chart of NFL teams. If you count the NBA and MLB, it gets a lot more crowded since some of those arenas/ballparks/stadiums are a lot older.
And here's a bit more general information for you, all cities have a diverse population and a poo ton of transplants.
