  1. But I hear it will clean any fish tank
  2. We are on a really bad path. Today, Twitter substitutes for real news, well, because "real news" is mimicking Twitter to be opinion based, entertainment broadcasts. We continue to know less and less and chart the future of our country based on slick 30 second videos which are based on nothing, or lies. And, NOBODY, will spend the time to learn about candidates. After all, Survivor is on, I am texting, and so forth. We are an instagram society with little knowledge of history, the present or the future. Screwed we are.
  3. At least where there is voting
  4. Exactly. I mentioned in this thread the other day, that budgets for "might happen" things are not popular as they don't garner votes. It all goes back to human nature in the US. We elect people that stroke us, who pamper us, who tell us how great we are or how bad off we are. THAT is who we elect. We will not put up with some guy wanting to spend loads of our "tax cut" or "entitlement" money on something like buildings full of ventilators. We are going to vote for guys that give back to us immediately. So when everyone points fingers, it is an "us" problem. We are the ones who elect these guys and boring guys doing numbers, are just not our thing here in America. Yes, we will overspend afterwards, but not before a crisis
  5. Just like I mentioned. Preparedness is not a popular budget item. Just human nature https://www.propublica.org/article/how-new-york-city-emergency-ventilator-stockpile-ended-up-on-the-auction-block

  7. Why do you think they banned the export of the drug?
  8. As crazy as it sounds, the President will get a lot of credit for "what the hell do you have to lose" with most people. If it is an existing drug, and people are going down, why not give it a shot until the medical community catches up? Might be crazy in normal times, but if I was circling the drain, I would ask for it.
  9. You can watch him on video
  10. Early models had NYC needing 110k hospital beds by end of April. Now thinking it will require half of that, for you statisticians, that would be 55k. Good news today from NYC. No time to blink, but good news
  11. Looks like NY is around the 600 mark again today. Hoping they are finished counting, as bad as that sounds, cause that would be 3 days in a row at around the same number. Stock market reflecting a possible bend in the curve
  12. No good time to have a crisis, but an election year makes it even more horrible. Everyone looking out for their re election rather than doing their job. Someone mentioned the governors. Some of them are doing a great job, no limelight, no ax grinding, just working for their states.
  13. "All of the Republicans have" This message brought to you by an unbiased bystander, damn it! There are tons of people working together, some, not so much. Give it another month or so when things settle down, and then you can have at it. Too much real stuff to do now to take seriously the partisan stuff
  14. There are certain things you might have to eat for awhile that are not your norm. We are doing ground turkey breast as a sub for hamburger. Fish is another. Lots of things like tuna, salmon. My son is buying things all the time in Lincolnton, but not a WalMart Super Centers or something. Those places are crazy sometimes. Check with your Dollar Generals and other places for TP. It is time you can plant some veggies soon on your deck or in pots. Want do any good in the present, but will make you feel better for future. Maybe drive to supermarket outside the city as the ones in small towns have shortages for awhile, but then back in stock. Not nearly the rush and hoarding.
  15. "hair on fire" folks like yourself are the reason toilet paper is gone. if everyone would use a dose of reality instead of all the crazy click bait type stuff, it would make it much easier to get through this. and it is absolutely about politics. You are the reason Trump will be re elected. 1.7 million deaths - hair on fire Then 1 million deaths - hair on fire Then 700k deaths - hair on fire and on and on and on. Now we are down to 100k - 240k deaths -hair on fire Bill Gates now says below 100k. So, when 69k die, guess who will take credit for saving 1.6 million lives? Good job
  16. Have no shades on, for either side. Trumps "polyana" theme, nor your "hair on fire" theme, do anything to solve a problem. Get away from Twitter and settle down. Think. The entire globe is dealing with something at the moment and the finger pointing is not gonna solve any issue. Maybe you can detail on your own, how the perfect candidate could have saved the US from any coronavirus cases. Maybe there is a genie's belly we can all rub? Try some critical thinking rather than just criticism
  17. Crazy talk invites you to the TB. They will love and embrace you there. Harbingers will open the door for you, find you a chair and feed you nonstop truth from Twitter. Do you have anything to say beyond hysterical talk? "could have prevented Covid 19" That's a good one. Trump says he's the best, you say he's the worst. Again, the truth is well between these two crazy talking points. Twitter will be your roadmap.......to nowhere
  18. Probably a few families might relocate, but Americans have a knack of forgetting things pretty quickly. For better or worse....
  19. Asymptomatic folks who work there probably bringing it in and not realizing it. Hate it for the folks who just are there waiting to be infected.
  20. True. NYC metro area is very densely populated and to be honest, I don't know what anyone could do with that place. There is not an arms length of space as everyone is on top of each other. CA and TX have done a decent job trying to keep folks away from each other for the populations they have. Houston is a very large city. Saying is, that when you are in Houston, your are still 2 hours from Houston. At least they are spread out, hoping it makes a difference. Mardi Gras just did New Orleans no favors
  21. So cases went down and deaths went down today. Good sign? Or just a pothole on the continued rise?
  22. Question: If the floor is full of Coronavirus patients, does the staff have to change gowns, etc with each room visit? Asking for the nurse folks here.
  23. A political ad is your answer to a question? Wow, you are a prime candidate for manipulation. One slick ad and you are convinced. No worries, the ones opposed to Biden will do the same and hook some on the other side. I won't argue ads with anyone, especially a mod
  24. You and Harbingers in the same camp. Just keep talking "hoax". Not true, but you are a mod, so I will leave it at that
