Yeah because drafting some WR in the 3rd round is the solution to surrounding our rookie with proper talent. Sending one of our 4th’s or SF’s 3rd for Hopkins would solve a lot of issues. God forbid we won’t be able to draft another Brandon Smith in the 4th this year

But instead you want to pay for one of these WR3’s on the market?

Good thinking, we don’t have enough of those! Maybe they can call up Marvin McNutt and see what he’s up to

Yeah I don’t get the problem if you trade a pick for a good player..when what you’re trying to do in the draft is use the pick to draft a good player. Were people pissed when we traded the 3rd rder for Olsen?

You're backpedaling pretty hard now. I don't give a fug. If we win the division with an all new staff and a promising rookie QB I'mma be up front on this hype train like Choo CHOOOOOOOOOOOO MUTHAFUGGA!!!!

Hell yeah.. I think a very overlooked part is our coaching staff vs the Saints.  Dennis Allen has always looked like shitake as a head coach. Dude looks like a total prick.

I'm sensing an Allen Lazard type pickup.  Honestly, would rather angle for a trade at WR and draft a TE.  Unless we REALLY want Schultz or Gesicke, don't think we overspend at either spot.  WR FA class is yikes.

We may be gunning for Dre'mont Jones or if Shaq isn't fully reworked, could sign Okereke and tell him bon voyage.

I like idea of a vet TE with a rookie QB….wouldn’t have minded Schultz until I saw those 2 huge mental errors at the end of Dallas’ playoff game. Might be putting too much  on that but football IQ especially in big moments matters. I haven’t watched Gesicke much at all but maybe  he’d make   an Olsen-ish jump for us

It's kind of weird but this coaching hire cycle feels like free agency. It's big news for almost every position coach hire. Haven't seen this much hype for a coaching staff. I don't remember much media hype over Rhule's staff.

There was no reason to get hyped over 80% of Rhule’s staff ha

Even in his rookie season I think he had some rest days for soreness.

I think it was just fate, his throwing motion plus some of the hard falls/hits he took on it. Genetics, who knows.

He never truly improved his lower body mechanics because he didn’t have to. I wonder if his shoulder have held up longer if he threw more the way pundits said he should.

Cam tore his shoulder tackling a guy after a pick. Was never the same after that. The tj watt hit was the icing on the cake. Folks that actually watched the games saw exactly what happened and when.

This is a project that needs a QB, stud TE, and maybe a few holes filled on Defense.

Get the QB and the TE, and I promise you, the offense is good enough to compete.  Add a LB, Edge, and DB or two, and the defense is top 10.

Six players will do it.  Yes, more would be better, before some chime in with statements of the obvious.  More better players is more better.  We all get that concept.

Sounds about right…if we go rookie QB I hope they go get a vet TE. I’ve never looked at the stats for it but it seems like rookie TEs are slower to make an impact and I remember how shockey and Olsen helped rookie Cam. Not one of the higher cost FA positions either

The Foreman that ran for 9 yards against PIt, 23 yards against Cinci, 24 yards against Cinci, and 35 yards against Tampa?

It's all fine and dandy that he got big running games against terrible Run Ds like Detroit and Seattle, but let's not pretend Foreman is the reason we almost got a playoff berth...

Literally Sam had more of a role in us almost making the playoffs than Foreman

The over/wrong use of the word literally could not be illustrated better✊🏻

It’s probably more likely that good defenses can commit enough guys to stop the run AND defend against the 150 yds Darnold is attacking you with through the air🤣🤣🤣🤣

Reality: he was a great QB realizing (2 weeks before TC) he didn’t want to play football anymore from going in that direction…

Right…I mean look how easy it’s been for us to replace our franchise QB…they grow on trees ha. It usually sets any franchise back. I don’t see how he could be blamed for that. Teams were poaching people from his staff so that says something..Buffalo’s the last team to poach any of our coaches🤣 his last 3 QBs were retreads, hopefully he’s seen enough of that

We’ll be waiting a few weeks if this is Moore, Steichen, Kafka or Dorsey.

If there’s no traction after a few days of Payton rumors & having interviewed guys like Reich, Evero, etc. my bet is on one of those four still in the playoffs.

I know folks are impatient but  I’d like to see them at least interview Kafka

  10. I’m just curious on what folks think they should/ could have done to tank…players aren’t just going to pitch the ball on the ground. We traded our best player and had a circus of bad to barely ok at QB. It’s not like they brought in free agents or anything.

The only way to keep losing at that clip was to not fire Rhule and that mofo needed to get his stink out of the building. If we’d traded burns maybe that costs a couple more wins but our division was historically bad.

Just think it’s fantasy to think a coach and staff that know their most likely out of here aren’t going to try and show they’re better than they looked under the hamburglar. Players too…what you gonna do “hey guys half ass it and lay the ball on the ground every chance you get and make sure you never get another shot on a roster”.  Just not realistic. We  have a lot of good pieces on the roster. The right coach can figure out how to use them and what pieces we need to add. “But we don’t have a top 3 pick” is not a valid excuse at all.

There is a huge difference in giving control to a small school door to door salesman and an odd, but proven big time winner at the NFL level. Big time coaches like Payton will also want control, he’s already said so. There is also something to say for someone who thinks it’s all the same. That is stupidity, but likely Tepper’s logic.

Tepper has absolutely no idea what he’s doing per usual and the fact that he’s hesitant on Harbaugh just makes me want him more.

Harbaugh doesn’t mix well with big ego guys since he himself has one, however he will give Tepper exactly what he wants - a winning football team in the least amount of time possible.

The difference in the Vikings is they appear to know what they were doing with an alternative choice. So makes sense.

Tepper is a god damn idiot as we all know and you can 100% bet his alternate choice is some dumbassery.

Never said they were the same thing. This is all way early speculation , hearsay and agents and teams doing their leverage  dance. The results of giving head coaches full control speak for themselves so I’d be leery of that personally but obviously no argument that Payton or harbaugh are different stratosphere than the POS 3000 in Nebraska

Gotta say I'm a bit uncertain after the clamor for Hackett last off season

Right…but similar situation to Adam Gase, they both worked with hall of fame QBs…I’d be wary of that. Steichen’s working with Hurts(who had a Josh Allenish type development) and Johnson with Goff has had Detroit’s offense going. Both are pretty impressive feats

But it is the GMs responsibility to put the right coaches in place...Fitts has failed miserably at that task. Keeping him is a sign that nothing will change.

Head coaches generally manage their own staff. It’s not coincidence that once Rhule and his guys were out the team looks night and day different. Mcadoo still sucks but what offensive coordinator with a better resume wanted to work for Rhule? Who wanted to be Joe Brady 2? Nobody.  Fitterer’s hands were tied til Fhule was gone. He was a brand new gm walking in with a head coach with a contract giving him roster sayso…that includes coaching staff.

They had a top 10 qb on the roster.  We dont have anything.

Was Daniel Jones a top ten QB before Daboll got there? Saquan’s much better all of the sudden too. A lot of the key players are the same ones that did squat before. Just saying the right coach can turn us around quickly too

It shouldn't take 2 years to turn this into a winning team. It's been 5 years already.

Despite what Tepper and Rhule's dumbasses think, it doesn't take 7 years to make a winning team in the NFL.

Right on …Daboll’s turned the Giants around immediately without any big roster changes etc. Just gotta get the Head Coach hire right this time
