Yeah while many are undecided or already writing him off in the NFL, he was a very good college QB. My Auburn fan hood hurts saying that BTW.

I have never denied he was great in college, the reality is my team i support is in the pros not college, and i just never saw his game translating well to the pros when I watched him.

Looks like last year they broke a school record for sacks allowed.  That's without Bryce playing....  The previous high was in 96?

I couldnt read it but fair enough. You also have to consider bama might not be the same team going forward with saban not around and players getting paid so it may continue.

bad/weak QB play always drags down OL play.   OL is going to struggle if all Bryce can threaten is 10 yards of the field.  Because defenses will be play the entire game that way.

OL was bad last year.  Bryce just helped highlight it even more.  Generally good QBs help mask it.

Bryce made a Alabama offensive line look bad with all the sacks he took the year before last. When does that ever happen with Alabama?

    Nobody talks about this

  4. Some of us already knew bryces only leverage was the fact that he was a rookie and the first pick last year. Once the new crop of qbs came in he would quickly become a afterthought and all the media hype and support would disappear especially since he had a bad season. It wasn't hard to forsee. Nobody on that list has more of a uphill battle than he does and who even knows how much that's actually gonna be worth.

Unnecessary Bluntness had a video prior to the draft where they interviewed a college scout. The scout mentioned vs Georgia Bryce told his OC to move him out of the pocked because he couldn't see the field. At the time Georgia had 1st rounders Devonte Wyatt and Jordan Davis at DT putting pressure up the middle.

Everyday it becomes more painfully clearly the Panthers got bamboozled.

don't have my category.......gets injured early and on IR the rest of the season........he was lucky last year.

I would hope nobody ever gets injured, more specifically i dont want Bryce to get injured because that just prolongs the evaluation or just another excuse why he will be the unquestioned starter when he comes back. I want him to get an opportunity to show undeniably that he is not the guy or he is the guy so that it can be a smooth transition to move away from him when the time comes.

I'm gonna have to say it.

Now let me make it crystal clear I was for years and remain a very vocal supporter of Cam Newton. I will forever be thankful to him for what he did for the soul and culture of this franchise in his best years. He brought us life and purpose.

But moving onto the Bryce Young situation. I just felt absolutely zero pushback or even a hint or a simple suggestion from him or Steve Smith Sr of "Hey Panthers maybe CJ Stroud is getting a raw deal in the media take another look let's be real sure before making this decision". But no. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Now that he's got a YouTube channel he's got everything to say? Brother you should have spoke up a year ago. Your words carry weight. I still love him and Steve. It's just disappointing that's all I can say. They didn't make the pick it wasn't their call at the end of the day but they could have said something in defense of CJ. This after the fact mess isn't it. That's all I've got to say.

Oh I agree, I'm irritated that all of sudden these media folks now want to tell the truth on bryce and Cj. I am someone thats convinced that the FO made the pick off heavy media influence. Greg Cosell just did a interview with  the roar and he pretty much peeled bryce back.

So is Dalton not competition for Young?  You stated not too long ago we would have competed for the division with him at QB vs Young based on that Seattle game?

I think he is competition for Young, the problem is THE STAFF didnt make him competition for Young. We barely saw anything from Dalton from camp threw pre season. They made Dalton the starter after the draft very briefly then all of a sudden we hear Bryce had won the job and it was very weird. The whole process last year was just off along with Tepper telling bryce all the way back to the superbowl we were gonna draft him. Bryce doesnt even visit with any other teams nor does he participate in combine and then there was the whole fiasco with the weight. It was just a lot of coasting all last year around bryce.

  9. Not giving Bryce any competition is just really outstanding to me, for all the talk about how other players on a roster need to be pushed/jobs taken i dont see how a QB is exempt. I dont care where you are drafted. It also installs a comfortability factor in a player that's not needed. Never make a player feel like they dont need to earn anything, its not always good thing.

I couldn’t figure that one out either. I was trying to tippy toe around Young for all the delicate ’that’s my quarterback’ crowd. Well, it isn’t exactly a crowd anymore....

They are still going strong on Panthers twitter, although im starting to see a lot of those fans are on the younger side compared to here.
