Unless a miracle happens and we're legit SB contenders, I want to just miss the playoffs due to some close losses, not win the division to lose in the first round.

We finally have all of our picks again next year, I'd rather be picking 5-7 spots higher in each round, while at the same time, then having a 2nd or 3rd place schedule next year instead of a 1st place one.

I just can't see any scenario where we are true contenders this year, but we should find out if Bryce can be our QB of the future.  If he isn't, then we're not making the playoffs anyways and will have a high pick to replace him.  If he is, it means 2026 is the real opening of our SB window once we add some more defensive pieces, so I'd rather go into that season picking earlier and have an easier schedule.

And yes, I know people will say think like "you need to win to gain confidence and experience, blah blah blah"

But just missing out on the playoffs because you lost couple close games is certainly a way to make a team hungry going into the offseason and keep them motivated to be better.

I've said it before and still think it holds true, we need to look at the Lions and hope to repeat their path.

Our last few years were their early 2020s when they sucked.  This year can be our version of their 2022 when they missed the playoffs in week 17.  Then our 2026 can be their 2023 when they made a run to the NFC Championship game (and really should have won it).  Which then puts us in line to be one of the best teams in the league going into 2027, as they were last year.

Respectfully, leave our fanbase. You’re not a fan of the players who make up the team. They give it all, and deserve to be cheered by those who believe in them; not by a draft bean counter.

  2. The meniscus is the shock absorber of the knee doesn’t regenerate so when you remove part of it, you can have limitations in range of motion and it frequently locks upon overuse. It’s not a great injury to have.

    Atlanta had a good draft.

I disagree. They went coverage heavy at Safety and they will struggle to defend the run up the middle. Tampa, Saints and us are going to run right over them, take time off the clock which neutralizes their running game strength with a shortened game.

Hard for me to complain about a double dip at pass rusher, but I'm just saying that when Moehrig is dropping into the deep third over and over again next year because we have nothing else at safety collecting $50M to look lost like Jeremy Chinn did when trying to be a square peg on a round hole, just remember that Xavier Watts was available.

I share your concern at safety but this draft ain’t it for FS, like embarrassingly bad at FS.

Let’s be honest, at #8 no defender was going get our defense ranked more than 27 out of 32 in one year. In my opinion I rather see whether Bryce has the stuff, cause I don’t think we know yet. This way we get to see entering year 3, whether he has a future here.

Fair point. The problem with our D last year was primarily our D-line and we plugged that up in FA. Our defense still isn’t top 15 at this point, but none of the players available were going to make us top 15 next year (in 2 years probably). Draft has a lot of players left.

  6. Great pick. The Franchise has to make Bryce Young excel. We have to have an identity and Bryce needs a WR who can pluck anything out of the air; especially in the redzone. Gotta maximize our free agent spending on the O-line. This pick fits with a plan. We have a lot of size at WR. Good luck to defenses playing nickel defense. We’ll run right over you or pass right over you.

I hve to explain to why that is bad?

You can explain why it’s the end of the world. Moton is a core player who is still a top 10 RT in the league. We can extend and lower his cap hit if we want, and if he or the team doesn’t want to do that then we are paying a lot of money to a guy who is instrumental to our offense for one more year. The cap hit is not great, but at least he will play and play very well. Our problems have been dead cap.
