Texans fan here and I was at that game. I don’t have time to look it up but I believe after that game CJ kind of called Slowik out about conservative play calling and Slowik started to open it up a bit more after that game.

on the flip side the six Texans sacks aside I felt Bryce showed off play ability, made some crucial throws, even if the panthers only scored 15 points.

Thanks for the assessment.  I think this is true, but Bryce has yet to show this consistently.  While he has shown some flashes, there is nothing thus far indicating that he should have been the pick.

The Panther Fan in me will continue to watch and be hopeful that BY can pull it together but the rational person in me has already started telling the fan in me to take another shot of something  so we can go sulk in the corner.

Congrats on the season and good luck this weekend.  You folks should be very optimistic.

The smartest people in the room don't go around telling people how smart they are or keep trying to prove it. My step son in my second marriage had ADHD and thought he was smarter than everyone else. He would always tell people how smart he was and that he knew a better way to do things. Sounds a lot like Tepper.

    Old CYA Proverb:

Never assume you are the smartest person in the room.  You may occasionally, or maybe even frequently be pleasantly surprised but you will never, ever be embarrassed or disappointed because of this stance.

Now it's being realized that Tepper is a football moron

The problem is that this fact is not being realized by Tepper.  Unfortunately we have a football moron owner who believes he is a football genius.  Its  ok to be a football moron owner if you realize this fact and hire people that are not.  Then just stay out of their way and let them do their jobs.

    Pretty much.

Also don't doubt he'd say stuff that was pure bullsh-t if he thought it'd make him look better.

Since he bought the team, the  Panthers are undefeated in the playoffs.

I think he should run with that one.

That dude is done and he might as well just move his personal affects out of his office now.

They know the writing is on the wall. Somehow I think the personal items at BOA for all coaching staff members are sparse. Exception may be Evero but who knows.

  6. Ironic thing is in his mind he probably thinks he is doing well despite wins and losses. Paid 2.2 billion and now franchise is worth over 4.  Ran the franchise into the ground and still almost doubled his money.  Not sure how much money he still owes is fired coaches but he is still sitting pretty.

  7. I think there are several things working against Bryce Young at this point and need to be cleaned up.  Perhaps the biggest is Bryce Young.

I pull for him and want him to get better because he is the QB on my team but I'm not blind to what we've witnessed thus far.  Not saying he is a total lost cause (yet) but he needs a lot (I mean a lot) of work if he wants any sort of future in the league.  Not going into the argument of where he was drafted as it really makes no difference cause he is here already.

Icky never had a chance to succeed at LT in this system. He is a power run blocker being asked to be a finesse pass blocker.

One of 2 things need to happen - 1) ditch the system for a more run balanced, play action system; 2) move Icky to guard.

yes to this.  Ickey looked like he was going to work out fine last year.  This year he is a mess. Has looked confused and constantly a step or two behind.  Move him inside if he cant play the position.  I know that is a huge disappointment and you are still looking for a franchise left tackle but your QB's hospital bills will be substantially lower going forward.

Think this is a very poor and at best very naive take on Ben Johnson. Nobody will take a job for less than their market value just because. Asking for what he thinks he will get doesn’t mean you’re not passionate about it. Also, saying Ben would accept half from other teams is just something he made up, he has no idea. He seems really bothered by the $15 million, and there is very little substance in his argument. This shouldn’t move the needle in any direction on how you feel about Ben as a potential HC.

Yes.  Whether you are an NFL HC or the slushy machine operator at the 7-11 you want to earn as much as possible.  If Johnson wants a premium here because of added risk factors such as Tepper BS then so be it.  I don't think any of this is substantiated but one would want to mitigate risk with something and if that is with $$$ who am I or this guy to say it is wrong.  If someone is willing to pay you X amount you are "worth" X amount.  Whether or not that turns into an equitable exchange is a risk the buyer has to absorb (see Miles Sanders).

When Tepper hires a coach I don't care if he pays him 30 mill.  It is not part of the cap and is not my concern.  I just don't want another trash coach.  So far the best coach under the Tepper regime is the one he didn't have a hand in hiring.

This offense looks night and day different with Brown actually running it though. There is so much pre snap motion, RPOs, PA passes, and allowing Bryce out into space the past few games - none of that was showing up earlier in the year.

I really think the game just passed Reich by.

This seems to allow BY to get into a rhythm as a passer which is the opposite of what was happening earlier in the year. BY looks much more comfortable and less robotic which will hopefully benefit him over the next few weeks.

I know it’s counter to the ultimate goal  of the game but I bet a lot of people in the organization are feeling better about this loss than they were about the 9-7 win last week.
