I think it is being done as an "are we actually sure he cant be the guy" Thats a nice way of saying that we are throwing good money after bad. Like I've said before, the only reason we are clutching pearls over BY the player is because he was a #1 pick. If he were a later round pickup/flyer he would likely be gone by now and we would barely remember his name. Caveat this by saying I can only hope that this is the mindset of the organization at this point.

I think the problem is we have a good guy but a very not so good/ actually quite sucky QB in Bryce Young. I wasted almost all of my “hope” chips on Bryce and don’t have many left for DC at this point. I think the only thing that can potentially save his imminent failure is to get an OC and relinquish play calling duties. oh, and find a new QB.

Realistic expectations imo would be: 1. Upgrade QB room with a legit backup. I don’t think BY is here long term but I don’t see a scenario where the team makes a change right now and they are not getting rid of Bryce in the offseason 2. Get an OC that has play calling duties and remove the role from DC 3. ILB 4. Pass rusher 5. OT need some insurance and transition plan for Moton and who knows about Ickey. 6. Vet receiver depth. XL experiment over. Probably need to rethink the sandwich menu while we’re at it 7. TE/S//CB/Nickel 8. Replace Evero who will likely be gone

Agree. Many players on this team work their asses off everyday to get to this point and fans have waited for years for an inkling of success. To pull for a loss at this point (as a fan) makes no sense to me. The Tanking argument (which I don’t get either) is closer to rational than this mindset IMO.
