Said a while back we can't protect Young because we have no run game and a line that isn't suited to pass blocking a WCO.

I completely agree.  I see how Campen could end up being the sacrificial lamb but it does not seem logical and most folks can see through that.  Same core group that was a bright spot last year.  A player can regress but cant see it happening to the entire line at once.

Yeah but I mean I guess he is right. In this day and age, in the era of clicks and tweets and like and publicity, it really doesn’t matter if some clown reporter makes it about himself. Me me me me is what’s it’s about now.

    Totally right about this.

  3. Not a fan of Tepper but I will say that he wants to win and has proven that he is not hesitant to spend lots of money to do it.  Problem (I know there's more than one) is, nothing he has done thus far actually works.

    So here we are.

Especially given the fact that we can’t block, can’t run the football, and can’t catch.

Very good point and You know, I am very confused by this. The simple explanation is everyone sucks. I have an inclination to believe this to be somewhat true. But these guys do this for a living and have had somewhat moderate success.

Why is it that Miles in running the wrong route on a 4th and 2?  Why does Ickey look like he has no idea what his blocking assignment is?  These guys look like they are getting confused on some basic assignments.  Like they are just seeing some of this stuff for the first time.

Just wondering if  it’s bigger than a talent problem at this point.

  5. I felt and still feel like this is going to be more of an evolution than a revolution.  I think you have the same foundation, which seemed to be very shaky but there may be some different sprinkles thrown in.

Not ready to judge just yet but I think the one positive take away is there seemed to be more emphasis on pushing stuff downfield. It could be my imagination but I got that vibe.  Time will tell.

  6. Not bothered and I think its acceptable under the circumstances.  Its a milestone win of sorts given the team was 0-6 prior to this and its the first win by your rookie franchise qb.   If it is a week to week thing it would be a little unsettling but I don't have a problem with this occasion.

That said, I'm not a player or coach.

I missed this play, but in two other instances Bryce was hit late and no flag was thrown

Thought about this and I believe by that point the refs were so used to Bryce getting the shiit knocked out of him every play that they were simply immune to the action.

Good point…that pick became Chad Muma who has been just ok

All things considered we won that deal tbh

The sad part of the whole thing is that our recent draft history suggests that we would not have picked  a player as talented as Chad Muma, rather a development player with upside.  With coaching, perhaps one day said player could have transformed Chad Muma.

A 65 yard game is not the game to hang your hat on but it’s the best game of his career so far.

    Very accurate.

That said, given the season we’ve had, being able to mention a receiver not named AT in a positive light is something to hang your hat on. personally I’ll take it at this point.

Which is why he is the only WR who gets targeted for the most part.  And he has been absolutely eating. Bryce has demonstrated with AT that if you are open he will get you the ball.  Only problem is that AT is the only guy whos open.

Yep.  I would like it if another deeper threat could get some separation on a more regular basis.  I know there have been times they have been open but I don't know if there is enough consistency for the rookie to depend on them.  Would just be nice to see if he could get it to someone else further downfield.  I don't think BY has the greatest/strongest arm but I think he has enough.  We need teams to at least know we are capable to go deep.

  11. I think it will be evolution rather than revolution.  Similar game plan I think but situational play calling may be somewhat different and hopefully a bit more emphasis on the running backs not named Miles Sanders.  Keep giving the rock to Chuba and don't abandon run so quickly.  This may help BY out a bit and help him flourish.
