Pesce declined a few years in a row.... Turbo finally made an effort again in a contract year..... I don't think they are as heavy of losses as many think. I think some things will be addressed via trade but it will likely be waiting on the outcomes of Jarvis/Necas.

That's the "top" of his expected contract range, there is more too it than that though taxes for one..... out of the teams with the cap space to sign him NC has one of the lowest tax rates.... 4 of them are Canadian teams (10m a year there is about 8m here because of taxes) He will also likely want a contender (weeds out literally every team with more cap than we currently have) By all accounts Guentzel wants to test the market the team most consider targeting him (the canucks) would need to offer him 11×7 to make it equal to 8x7 from us.

Ehhh last years (2023 playoffs) we were the walking dead with no scorers... New York was the worst possible matchup for us, the Panthers play the same game we do and we are generally able to hold them from scoring much better than the rags.

Facts..... we are equal to these teams every were else.... The only potential elite goalie available this offseason will be Saros (and he's smaller and had a crappy year this last season)

I don't think the man defense should be done away with entirely, honestly the Rags and (Bruins when they had centers) and the lightning when they had depth are the only teams that broke our man defense..... Rods not gonna get rid of the man D but it would be nice to see him change it up and play zone 1-3-1 maybe 20%-30% of the time agaist teams that are a bad matchup for man that way come playoffs the guys know how to do it.... It sucks because this season we were a much better matchup for the Panthers than the Rags..... our man D does work vs them (shut them out twice) last year we just didn't have anyone other than aho and necas who were anything close to a scoring threat. As far as a physical forecheck we rely on a speed forecheck and the only forward we really have that can play with the physicality the panthers do it's Svechnikov.... Looking at the way the roster was built almost all of our skill/scorers are smaller finesse players and although they are physical they just don't have the size to wear guys down physically. Addon Edit* Rods system really doest play to the strengths of the majority of our scoring talent.... it's why I really don't want to see Necas go, because I feel like he's gonna be 100+ point game changer in the right offensive system.... people always are quick to rag on our guys relatively low point totals.... but I legit think Aho/Svech/Necas are all 100+ point guys in a different system. If we resign Guentzel I think He Aho and Svech will all score 35+ goals next year and 100 points. I have a feeling Jarvis will be moved to 1C-B aka 2C. And hit about 70.

Some of it is also for whatever reason the Rags are a god awful matchup for us, Florida also has a forecheck that's relentless like our own, I think the man d kills us vs the rags..... Need the devils to be the rags first round matchup next season loll.

I've seen some spitballing on a Necas trade and the best I've seen proposed by the talking heads would be Travis Konecty for Martin Necas strait swap... I'd love it

You misunderstand also lol experts.... The team won't trade him for picks/prospects some one will need to ante up a real trade piece... He won't sit out next season period he has value and the Canes would be idiots not to get it especially since he has 2 seasons left as an RFA which means he can arbitrate a one year deal, sign an offer sheet (which can be matched) or sit out.....which does nothing to make his two years of RFA go away..... the team has Control over him. I DONT EXPECT him back but I am saying if they don't get the VALUE they make him pound sand.

You don't seem to understand how restricted free agency works (which he is the next two seasons) he's not going to sit and lose money lol this ain't the NFL. See the Kevin Fiala trade if you want an idea how this works because it's obvious your clueless.

Yeah the Canes aren't gonna take draft picks or prospects for Necas.... He has this year and next year left in team control (restricted).
