The Metro is one thing. I'd rather see them take the Eastern. I mean, if you're going to flame out in the second round anyway, may as well go in with the best title possible?

I mean its probably the third round but yea

Canes are an actual underdog. Somehow, play a good game.  Bury these assholes.

I mean they have been playing down to crap teams lately, got a feeling this one sees a lot of goals

Neither of last night's goals were on Bussi. Stop turning the puck over in the middle of the ice or behind the net.

He wasn't great but he wasnt bad, and ive said before our goalies facing 16 shots is actually to their detriment because there are LONG stretches were they arent involved in the game at all.  Bottom line is you don't score 1 goal and blame the goalie for giving uo 2 this is like the year before last when everyone blamed freddie for 2-1 losses.... you dont win jack in the ecf scoring two goals.

After thinking about last night's loss its kind of painfuly obvious the top half of the team are giving minimal effort right now, (with a 10 point metro lead and games in hand they would need to go like 2-14 in order to NOT finish first in the metro)

After watching Tulsky's interview last night- he needs to go.

If finding a legit 2C is "a depth piece" in his book, he's so fugging wrong.

Ooof glad I didn't see that, although at this point its just him talking out his ass.

The problem I have is so what if prices for trades were expensive? This team has been hoarding assents for a decade with a title window open most of are best players are now at their peak, we don't care about being a playoff team for anther eight years in a row,  hell I'd take a cup and be cool with anther drout (wont happen) the only trade we made that we legitimately didn't get ROI was Guentzel, Yes you can argue we didnt get enough from the Necas/Raantanen debacle but Necas was never going to be a 90 point guy in rods system and neither was Raantanen. Guys top out at PPG because Rod divided the minutes up in such a way that our top line plays minutes that for anyone else are second line.... and our other 3 lines all play what would be #2 line minutes elsewhere.

Nikishin may be better on his off side based on what he's put on display the last couple games with Ghost off the ice.

Miller, in his defense, has been the most flexible D-man when RBA has put him on all 3 lines. Miller has also been paired with virtually every D-man on the roster.

I'm not defending Miller, and yes, for every 4-5 very good plays he makes, there's one aw-sh!t moment that overshadows them. But, again, he's played on all 3 lines and has been paired with every dude on the roster (I was wrong- Slavin) except Slavin.

Ehhh small sample size with Nikishin but could also just be hes running the PP now... (which has improved with him imo)

Your point with Miller kinda proves though what I'm saying No chemistry the pairings have been shuffled umpteen times due to injury.  Chemistry is important on the back half of the ice.

  6. Although as I look at the NHL right now, I do think if they can pull their heads from their asses no Florida in the playoffs does represent the Canes best chance of winning a cup....

The Aves record is inflated by how bad the west is this year....   just realized the #9 eastern team (Columbus Blue Jackets) would currently be the #4 team in the west)

Burns offense may have dropped off but his defense and PK were still great.  I don’t think Tulsky has done that great of a job. Sure ehlers and finding Bussi. But I’m not sold on him. If the canes don’t make it to the Stanley cup, he has got to go.

Rods the one who needs to go if they don't win a cup soon, Overall I like the way Tulsky operates, do i wish he had pivoted to several smaller moves instead of going all in on a big acquisition? Obviously.

But RBA is the one I'm locked onto, he is too stuck in his ways and if if "his way" can't get somthing done he just triples down and proves his insanity by trying the same stupid crap over and over, the facebook casuals will be like but but but 8 years in a row making the playoffs.... yes we'll guess what we should have at least a cup to show for it, yes only one team wins every year but this year will be the 8th consecutive year making the playoffs.... heck none of us even get excited about that and haven't in four years minimum.  Our top guys are nearing the peak of their prime the time is now, but the canes seem content to stand pat and "make the playoffs" anther 5-8 years in a row.

Under what conditions do they suck defensively? Because they played as solid a defensive game as we've seen all season the night before against Edmonton.

Is it RBA's pairings? They've remained pretty consistent since Slavin came back.

I mean, I don't follow the stats and analytics, but can someone point to a specific 5v5 analytic that shows us where or who the problem is?

I think its the pairings and Rods compete inability to get chemistry out of them with 4lhd and 2rhd.

Nikishin is a rookie and he makes rookie mistakes (Although ill say given hes played third pairing minutes and his offensive production hes gonna be a 20g 65+ point dman in the near future)

Miller is the weakest link IMO hes completly boom or bust, he leads the team in giveaways and goals given up off of them.
