Yeah, but there aren't 142 starters. 64th out of 142 puts him in bottom of the barrel starter/good backup range.
Correct but that's literally the grades for everyone who took snaps at T, I'd like to see the grades from say everyone who took 500 snaps or more to rank that. Sample size is important Christenson was the #1 pass block rate in two starts as a rookie.

Lol, mikko could use a few lessons from Stank to not be ass in the playoffs
Really weird thing to say about a guy with 37 goals and 101 playoff points in exactly 82 career playoff games.
Lol I don't like him either but seriously

Stanky makes it 2-0
I'm not concerned about defense or goaltending at home....
The test will be on the road

Lmao... I placed 3 bets on this game. All 3 had Chatty anytime. Wish I would've taken him for the 1st goal @ +5000 tho!

Yeah, I don't see him really becoming more than "slightly above average" at LT. It's possible because he is a high ceiling player but those guys rarely ever come close to that potential for us.
Also, if he doesn't really make a big leap next season, there isn't a ton of precedent for that all of a suddenly happening after 4 years of being a starter.
I do think that people are potentially not considering this fact when they talk about why he hasn't been extended yet.
Not doing that does allow the team to pivot to him being an OG or RT if need be and have a completely different contract potential.
I wouldn’t hold 2023 agaist him tbh the rotating door of scap heap guards and centers playing every week next to him made it impossible to know whose assignment was what.
This year will be very telling for Ickey, first year returning all five starters with ni weak links.

65th in pass blocking rate is the issue. This isn't 1985 anymore. You're not paying LTs to be road grading run blockers. He's above average for a starting LT as a run blocker. He's well below average for a starting LT as a pass blocker. The issue is that you're paying LTs primarily to be pass protectors.
That's out of 142 which isn't accounting for snap counts....
He did improve a bit last year, and I'm not holding the train wreck the year before against him, I'd like to see him get that grade up into the 70s and I'd be happy with it.

Playoffs are a different animal, Canes have everyone healthy Nikishin is an option, at home with line matching, I fully expect them to win 3-1

Would you play him in game 1? Not sure that’s good for team chemistry after a long season but I would definitely let the D men know they are on notice. Perform or you are out.
He's a difference maker, 11-7

We need an impact LB/Edge my comparison would be a better tackling Hasson Reddick

Rod says likely Freddie will be in net.
Not news.....
Freddie will start unless we lose two in a row were he is terrible.

To start Freddie in a meaningless game made no sense, now both goalies are going into the playoffs with shattered confidence, looks like its going to be a repeat of the last 3 seasons where our goalies poo the bed
Freddie is pretty good about not letting that crap get to him...
Last year gave up 7 to the aves and next two starts were shutouts

Time for the annual power play and offensive disappearing act by the “star players.” The only question is whether it happens in round 1 or round 2.
Ummm can't disappear since we havent had it to begin with this year

This game may be meaningless in the standings, but its been fun
If we and the panthers make the ECF it would give us home ice.. not completely meaningless

This game is going to be interesting from an intensity standpoint as we have a lot of AHL’ers playing tonight who should be looking to make their mark and a win in regulation would give Columbus control of their destiny tomorrow against the Islanders.
It would be pretty damn funny being responsible for keeping Montreal out of the playoffs.
I'd honestly rather let the Canadians win, they have a better shot against Washington IMO. Plus it seems the Caps tanked the game against Columbus on purpose last week.

Top 10? That is laughable... we may have slid into the top 20 in some rankings. Top 10 overall? Put the pipe down.
Nah that's you
Top 10 pass blocking and sacks allowed,
Top 5 run blocking, #9 overall by pff
