What exactly is your point and what are you hoping to accomplish?  So the team did not draft the guy you wanted?  You think Ladd McConkey has no shortcomings?  This post demonstrates how you are looking for anything you can to prove that you are all knowing and the Panther general manager and coach are dumb.  Is that what you want?  Instead of taking the position, "I have no idea how this might work out, fingers crossed." you have decided to go on a witch hunt.  Not with you.  I hope he balls out enough to cause you to change your username and profile pic.

I actually wanted BPA at 33 preferably a center. Maybe a WR at 39. Ladd Mcconkey is just the answer to your question of who is more polished than XL.

As a fan of this team for over 20 years I can say without uncertainty that this move is short sighted and made based off of fear. It’s not the obligatory 5th we gave up that I care about, it’s the philosophy of the move. We’ve made moves like this for the past 5 years. And no, I don’t trust this staff to make the correct decisions when it comes to the draft because since Tepper has taken over our drafts have been dog poo.

I hope I’m wrong. I always hope I’m wrong when I think a move we make is crap. Turns out though the majority of the moves weve made under Tepper are indeed crap. I get it if Leggette is your guy. But this organization lost my trust years ago.

Please direct me to the WR in this draft that was available at 32 who is not raw in some ways?  We really traded up for the contract, not the person.  If switching a fifth for a sixth bothers you, you are talking about 23.6 trade value points.  Not a big deal.  However, if he plays, we could save $15m or so on the fifth year option.  It was smart, actually.

All first rounders have strengths and weaknesses.  Most WRs have never faced press man coverage, and they struggle to do so st first.  He is 6'3" and 227--he will overcome it.

And being a good athlete is not a crime, even if you are tired of it.

    Ladd Mcconkey

And Xavier Leggette is 6’ 1 not 6’3

That level of narcissism is more than concerning. At this point all we can hope for is for Tepper to physically assault a fan to the point where the league makes him sell the team. That’s not a joke. I give that more than a 50% chance of happening. I’ll gladly volunteer my face for assault if that means this dick mouth leaves town for good

People have to chill with shitting in Mingo so much you'd think he's the worst pick we've made in the last several years. It's just becoming a robotic take at this point.

If you're giving Bryce Young a mulligan because of the coaching and situation overall last year then Mingo deserves the same courtesy.

ESPN’s comp for Leggette is literally Jonathan Mingo

He is a bit raw, and we may have motion him to keep him from strong press man coverage--Tennessee managed to contain him--he caught 5 balls for 50 yards.   He was SC's only real threat, so he garnered a lot of attention in 2023.  According to his RAS score, he is impressive.  I think he will struggle at first, and they will experiment with how to use him.  He is good at contested catches and crossing routes.

I don’t want raw out of my first round draft pick, especially the one I traded up for. I want a bona fide starter. And I’m so sick of RAS scores and S2 tests and other analytical bull poo. Look at the tape. If there’s any question about rawness or route running or footwork then you don’t draft that guy. Or at least don’t give up poo for that guy.

Chances of a 5th rounder becoming a solid starter are below 10%. I don't really understand why people are butthurt over giving that up. Sure hate the pick, but the trade was fine.

Because hypothetically if you stay at 33 you can trade back a few spots and get an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder (which hit at a rate greater than 10%) and probably get the same guy you would’ve gotten by trading up. It’s short sighted and what has gotten this franchise where it is today.

lol at the tears some are shedding.

it's a great pick and an incredibly smart move to make ensuring that the guy you believe is going to be a strong WR for you is going to be around for 5 years on a rookie deal.

and we keep the same number of picks and only drop back a little with one of them.

The problem is that the players that this organization believes in are dog poo

  8. We just traded up for a guy that can’t separate and would’ve most likely have been there at 39. Other teams just lick their chops when they look at us. Easy fuging pickings. I’m so ready for a competent front office but that’s not going to happen until bald fug McGee leaves town. A retarded monkey could make better decisions than this brain trust. “Durr hurr, he shore do talk funny, he’s gotta be gud!”. fuging idiots. Every goddam year with this bullshit.
