Are we in a spot to trade up in the draft, which would probably be similar to what it would take for Lamar? I’m not saying we get him (I’d love it though) but I’ve seen lots of ppl have no issues trading up for an unknown rather than what’s known. Both aren’t ideal, but getting an mvp at qb would be much better than trading assets for a rookie.
Of all the options I think trading up for a rookie is the most reasonable. I still would rather not do it but you can’t fault them if they think that’s the way forward.
Trading draft picks for a current QB making tens of millions that might not even work out is a bad bad bad idea. No guarantee Rogers or Jackson would be good here.

We’re just not in a spot to give up a lot of draft capital IMO. The team isn’t a QB away and also isn’t going to get blown up. Outside of a very good deal it just seems like a bad idea.

Would take some steam out of Wilks's lawsuit, at least where the Panthers are concerned, when they can point to having one of the most diverse front offices and staffs in the league.
Not sure if it would matter after the fact or not. I don’t know much about the lawsuit.

Eagles fans are obnoxious as hell so seeing them win always sucks. But I’d be happy for Bradberry.
It’s nice to see Reid cement his legacy, especially against his former team.
overall I lean Chiefs.

"There's no QB worth a trade-up, wait until next year". Repeat every year as needed.
I hate to do it but it’s been pretty miserable seeing so many excellent 1st round picks never get a SuperBowl due to having a below average QB.

Also I think Jake’s injury was also a bit related to his throwing motion being sidearm. I feel like it might have worn him out a lot faster. I don’t know many QBs that needed the baseball pitcher surgery.

It's usually the drafts where people think is weak at QB that have a couple of stars.
We need to grab one of these QB's. We can't keep going the vet QB route. At least draft one and try to develop them. I mean that's why we hired Frank for right?
100% I’m on board with getting a QB I’m just nervous about giving him a rookie QB plus a lack of 1st round picks for his first two years.
I really hope we stay put but that’s mostly because my formative fan years were with Fox/Hurney.

Goddamn the Anthony Richardson dick riding is bad.
Over Bryce Young and Levis. The dude needs to be with McKee and Hooker in the 3rd round.
It’s going to get a lot worse in the lead up to the draft. He has the highest ceiling. People will have him as #1 in some mocks no doubt.
I wouldn’t object to him at 9 but truthfully I’m just not feeling the QBs this draft. Stroud isn’t bad but I still don’t want to trade up.

Wth is Tommy "Jone"? There is a Tommy John surgery, which is elbow. See Brock Purdy. Am I missing something here?
It’s a reference from forever ago like 2009-2010 after Jake fell off a cliff. IIRC the topic was barely coherent lol.

Also Cam is(hopefully) pretty wealthy and has like 600 kids so I can imagine he’s focused on that plus his private ventures.
-
Even in his rookie season I think he had some rest days for soreness.
I think it was just fate, his throwing motion plus some of the hard falls/hits he took on it. Genetics, who knows.
He never truly improved his lower body mechanics because he didn’t have to. I wonder if his shoulder have held up longer if he threw more the way pundits said he should.

The mock draft I watched that inspired my post had Richardson going to us at #9. If things were to fall this way than IMO it is the most ideal way the draft could unfold. We would get a talented QB that needs grooming and a QB whisperer head coach. And we would not have to give up any picks to get him.
Yeah none of these QBs feel like a sure thing so I’d rather try out Richardson.

That stings bc I like Reddick. Still, that other plan was signing Frankie Luvu for a third of the price. Not a bad consolation. Reddick signed for 3 years at 15mil per and Luvu for 2 years at 4.5mil per.
Reddick is a bigger game wrecker as far as sacking the QB and creating turnovers, but Luvu had 111 combined tackles this year to Reddick’s 49. Reddick is a pass rush specialist who played 74% of Philadelphia’s defensive snaps. Luvu played 92% of ours.
We did fine on that decision for where we are as an organization. We’re not in a Super Bowl window like the Eagles.
Yeah I’m surprised how salty people are about it. I felt like when we signed him we always knew it was going to be a 1yr rental.

The answer is to do whatever it takes to get the QB you like. No more of this wait next year no sense.
I guess the team just doesn’t really feel like it’s at the beginning of a rookie QB window for me.
There are all kinds of ways to succeed and if Reich is a good coach it’ll work out regardless.
I guess I’m just having a hard time thinking about when trading up into the top 5 of the draft has worked out at all. If the cost is 1-2 future first rounders I think that really hamstrings a team.
-
It’s a huge gamble to trade up this year but whatever happens happens.

All of it is common sense, trying to play field position ball with Tom Brady without your best corner is what sealed it. Not even sure if Rivera/Fox would have been that conservative.

i'm always happy to eat wings with people who don't prefer drums. more for me. too much work for not enough meat on the flats. y'all can have them.
The drum is like a great bite of lean meat and then working my way around that knobbily stuff.
the flats just seem to all be edible whether it’s skin or cartilage or meat. When it’s cooked just right you can get all the bones out and it’s satisfying like perfectly shelling a crab leg.

This simulator is crazy. I was able to draft CJ Stroud, and pick up 3 1st round picks from other teams next year. That means we would have Stroud, and 4 1sts next year. Hold my beer Fitterer!!!
Yeah 2 years ago I was able to draft Horn and Surtain back to back with all the trades I was doing. Needs stricter logic.

Honestly doesn’t seem like a good time to be aggressive in FA/draft with a new coach but who knows.
-
He’s local too, im sure that helps
-
I’d rather see if they can get Richardson at 9 or later in the draft. At least with Richardson the ceiling is higher.

Cautiously optimistic but I feel like the roster and cap isn’t quite in a good spot to be competitive right away. Without a QB it’s hard to calculate that SB window.

I don’t really mind the rigged accusations because the ref quality is unacceptable
at this point is just feels naive to not be skeptical. I think the refs and the NFL as a whole has a directive to put their finger on the scales when they can.

Yeah I feel like you can’t be the GOAT and an announcer. He can’t help it but fans will hate him.
