he should play. as much as any other starter. we got a new scheme. Horn hasn't even logged a season yet in the NFL. We need to be good defensively this year.
I don't want to go w/ a Mr. Glass mindset. Also sets a bad tone I think w/ other legit starters. Horn more precious than Burns or Brown?
I think most established guys shouldn’t play much. I feel like this focus on stubborn principles vs actual pragmatic decision making is what separates these old school drones like Wilks/Fox/Rivera from coaches who aren’t afraid to actually to think for themselves.
You will have different rules for different players. Horn is the only legit CB we have and has bad luck for getting injured so don’t play him.

If they play him in preseason I won’t be optimistic about the staff’s decision making abilities.

Please just treat it like preseason, I’m tired of watching players like Stewart or Newton getting hurt.
Young will get plenty of experience this year, he doesn’t need to get hurt in a scrimmage.

I admit I was one for a while, but mainly because of the cap issues Hurney put us in and Gettlemans work to get us out of some of that. But he proved to be more of a detriment to the team than he was an asset.
The first two drafts were pretty great too. Gettlemagic started off strong.

Yeah if it’s public money then there better be a lot of reqs attached. I’d rather zero public money be used.

I’ve never seen an infamous Jersey but I have seen St. Pierre and JJ Jansen jerseys

He will be an epic failure at Nebraska as well. It will be fun to watch.
People keep saying this when plenty of college coaches did terrible in the NFL and didn’t skip a beat going back to college.

I’m not going to say they are overpaid because of the beating they have to take, but I don’t want to have the highest paid RB in the NFL ever again.
For real, any non contending team should pay their RB and trade them for high draft capital to a contender. I view it as buying draft capital.

Try telling that to former coach MoRon Rivera.
I mean Fox drafted Williams and Stewart. Rivera keeping both signed was a bit dumb though lol. The spending spree in 2011 got a little dumb especially for some of the home grown players.

Jeffers actually put up stats though.
Yeah Jeffers had a beast of a year.
I like how the author mentions Smith’s PR experience as a plus when he’s shockingly bad at fielding the ball

Its almost as if you don't know how business works! He didn't buy the team to make fans happy, he bought it to make HIMSELF money! He is doing that.
What’s disappointing is these franchises print money no matter what unless the entire NFL goes in decline. JR made asinine decisions about costs(indoor practice facility). But at least he prioritized the football team for the stadium.

It’s bittersweet when artists get big enough that they only do stadiums or outdoor venues too. Takes a lot of the atmosphere away for me sometimes.

You can’t fix every position in a single off-season. There’s not even a CB/Edge available to sign on the same level as D-Hop.
I’m all about getting Young as many weapons as possible. Especially in his first few seasons.
Yeah I’m on this line of thought. I don’t think this team can get to a SB before young’s 1st contract is over so I think the next 2-3 years is about helping him develop and drafting well.

I love how they put grass down for the traveling soccer teams each time. It’s so deflating knowing that Tepper ultimately values flexibility for his entertainment biz vs winning or player safety.

The view I'm getting from these comments about Young is that his ability to understand and apply nfl level concepts is that of a more seasoned veteran. It's kinda caught the staff off guard a bit and that's a good thing. It may not sound like much but it is a blessing in disguise.
I still worry about him “anticipating” at a college speed for his first year in the NFL and getting baited by some NFL safeties. It’s not a big deal for a rookie QB obviously. If he starts dinking and dunking defenses like Brees or Brady I’ll be really impressed.

I got absolutely thrashed on this forum for saying Rhule was trash and should’ve been fired year before last.
There are absolutely idiots left here. You know who you are. Actually, you probably don’t.
There are some posters here who think literally everything and anything this franchise does is the right move (despite being one of the worst record wise) and anyone who says otherwise they just give poo to.
I mean some of that comes with being a fan. I was born in this region and I support the home team. I was optimistic when Rhule was hired especially since we hadn’t tried a college coach before but it just didn’t work out. Pretty much all of that is Rhules fault for certain.
I definitely didn’t want the Hornets to draft Brandon Miller but hopefully he ends up being a great player.

If Baldinger says it, it's gotta be true. He's the best player evaluator in football media, hands down.
There’s really nobody better in terms of enthusiasm, knowledge, and the desire to teach that knowledge. Definitely embodies that John Madden quality.

I used to love my uncles big dually trucks he drove for his auto repair biz.
I actually did some chores for my parents today. Driving the family truck to the dump had me feeling that nostalgia again too.
something about trucks make a lasting imprint on you when you’re a kid

Yeah, it's crazy how thin we are at CB given the resources we've spent in relatively recent years. I guess that happens when your top 10 pick is made of porcelain and your 2nd rounder pops an Achilles. Everyone is thin at CB if you take way both of their outside starters.
God it hurts when I hear the word pop, I hope I never have one of those injuries(I’m pretty safe on the couch I think).

I’ve thought about joining roaring riot for that game a few times since Atlanta is kind of the perfect distance of not wanting to drive, but a tolerable bus ride.

Nice to hear. Really looking forward to watching him play.

Teams who aren’t in the SB hunt should pay their RBs and trade them for a 1st. Buy a first round pick back.
