Gentlemen blew, was crazy the amount of defenders he use to have, didn’t want anyone associate with his staff

did a great job getting us out of cap hell. also did nothing to make the team better once we had a roster good enough to compete for a super bowl

for a hawwwg mawlie enthusiast using first round picks on shaq and vernon butler which were luxury picks while strutting out the likes of nate chandler, byron bell, matt kalil, mike remmers to protect your franchise QB was malpractice. and then of course the norman fiasco and drafting kelvin benjamin over davante adams, jarvis landry and allen robinson and doubling down on devin funchess the next year. for a guy that "came from scouting" it was crazy how he drafted 2 tall unpolished receivers simply because Cam "threw high"

I remember him and Rivera thinking Byron Bell would be a better left tackle than right tackle because he was left handed lol

  2. Beane took over in 2018 after Josh Allen was drafted. He's drafted 2 Pro Bowlers his entire tenure. James Cook and Dawson Knox

The Bills had a generational QB fall into their lap and have wasted his prime much like we did with Cam. Alot of parallels and it's even funnier when they've had so many of our former players and built their front office around our old employees

It is a hypothetical. Neither is playing next week. It’s irrelevant.

its you trying to change the subject because you said something idiotic. You don’t have blind 1 week qb drafts in the nfl this is stupid

It’s not idiotic. Youre the one bringing up play from 2 years ago as if that matters today

Bryce post benching is both a bigger sample size and more recent than their rookie seasons - why would what both did as rookies carry more weight than that?

Bryce is slowly but clearly progressing, CJ is regressing at an alarming rate. It’s not a scorching hot take right now to say TODAY Bryce is the better QB. CJ is the sole reason his team isnt playing next week for a chance to go to the Super Bowl, and he completely wasted an elite defense that had only Stidham in between them and the Super Bowl

    Sprinting to hide behind hypotheticals

id take CJ on the panthers over Bryce on the Texans how’s that

Its not a hypothetical - do you really think theres a coach right now that would have more faith in putting CJ Stroud behind center than Bryce next week?

It’s also a completely arbitrary starting point that conveniently cuts out cj’s best play and Bryce’s…well not worst since he had plenty of performances this year just as bad as his rookie season

if we were playing next week who would you rather have playing?

They absolutely should have been dragged because CJ stroud won roty and has been far more successful than bryce. I dunno what’s going on with CJ but that doesn’t change the fact he’s been a better pick than the guy who was benched twice and hasn’t had a winning record.

and I don’t think even the crankys of the world are going to claim that Bryce outplayed Caleb.

bryce has absolutely played better than stroud since the benching which is a much bigger sample size than their rookie years

and he most certainly outplayed caleb if you consider missing open throws, costly turnovers, and the fact that that game ends 17-10 if not for the luckiest play of the season. If our defense held the Rams to 17 points in regulation and Bryce had 3 interceptions last week he might have been shown the door already. Bryce put up 31 with no running game and left the field with 2 minutes left and a lead

  7. We have our own issues with Bryce but it’s crazy how this franchise was dragged through the media the last 2 years for missing out on CJ Stroud and Caleb Williams

*whispers* Bryce played better than both of them in the playoffs

the real mistake was mortgaging the future for Bryce when Drake Maye could have been there the next year

  8. IMO you only fire a coach for a few reasons

    1. He isnt getting the most he can out of the roster/talent - can’t say that applies to Canales

    2. He’s lost the locker room and players are checked out - I would say that’s not the case and the complete opposite with Canales

    3. Team keeps coming up short in the playoffs with a Super Bowl level roster and they just need to make a change to see if a new coach can get them over the hump (think McDermott if the Bills don’t make the Super Bowl again) - Obviously that can’t apply to Canales yet

    4. It has simply run its course and become stagnant and a change is needed (John Harbaugh) - Again doesnt apply to Canales

Mays I view like BC. He can do an admirable job as a starter but he will never be anything other than a bottom third starter. He is a top shelf, critical backup.

Hunt would be a net negative salary cap impact to cut/trade this offseason. He also has a $9 mil guarantee that gets triggered on March 13. He would be easier to move in 2027 but I am not sure there will be many takers at his salary.

We need to start getting serious about drafting a real C, some interior depth/starters and at least one starting caliber OT.

As much as a strength as that unit has been, we are over invested monetarily and the returns have been underwhelming.

to be fair how many games did the unit play fully together?

  10. The one score stat is stupid. Majority of NFL games are decided by one score. 10 of our 17 were. Any team with a winning record is usually going to have a good record in one score games. The good teams win those and the bad teams lose them. More likely than not a game is decided by who turns the ball over more and who gets off the field on 3rd down

thats why Im so high on Canales despite the sometimes puzzling play calling. The obvious holes on the roster have forced him to play a very limited style on offense and defense and he still made almost every game come down to the fourth quarter.

it’s alot easier to beat a more talented team for 1 quarter than 4 quarters and its pretty clear thats the philosophy to how he coaches and gameplans, I personally cant wait to see how this team improves with another good offseason to upgrade the roster

The NFC south is rebuilding,  we should be dominating,  oh well..

Just absolute asinine roster building and asset allocation in hindsight

we hired a new coach in 2020 and lost our 4 most prominent players in Cam, Luke and Olsen (and basically KK Short) and then a pandemic hit so everyone expected to take a step back

while I never wanted Teddy to be our guy longterm he managed the game well and ran the offense well and was the perfect bridge QB. CMC got hurt but it was clear he was still arguably the best skill player in the league

we had a great receiving corps with DJ, Chosen, and Samuel all over 1k yards and we had Burns going into his 3rd year and starting to become a star and the Brown and Chinn picks looked like homeruns

at the same time the Matt Ryan/Julio era for the Falcons and the Brees era for the Saints were ending and even though the Bucs won the Super Bowl they obviously had a short window with Brady

if this dumbass franchise led by dumbass Rhule and Fitterer could have just stayed patient and let Teddy play out his contract and continue developing young talent and locking them up long term we would probably have a roster comparable to the Seahawks and healthy Niners while the rest of the division is rebuilding. If you look at the playoffs right now the best teams are mostly teams with stacked defenses, solid playmakers and a QB either on a rookie deal or a veteran that isnt breaking the bank. the Burrows, Mahomeses, Daks, Goffs, Jacksons tying up all their teams caps are all sitting at home

instead they thought Sam Darnold was such an upgrade over Teddy that they just had to get him and then after he beat Zach Wilson, Jameis Winston and Davis Mills decided we were a player away from contention and began swinging for the fences and mortgaging the future

once that failed they trade away the future offensive player of the year to acquire picks and then trade away WR1 because they felt like Bryce Young was going to put a 7-10 team over the hump

if this franchise has learned anything in the last 5 years they will use this years draft and cap space on upgrading the defense and do nothing to give Bryce a long term deal and continue building the team the correct way

the Falcons are in QB purgatory and dont have a 1st round pick, the Saints still have a long ways to go as Cam Jordan and Demario Davis are on their last legs as is Kamara and Olave is one more shot to the head away from retirement. Shough wouldnt be the first QB to look good as a rookie and then regress after teams have an offseason of film on him. Bucs are toast as most of that defense is on its last legs and Evans is nearing there too. If we can be patient we have a great opportunity to control this division the next few years.
