  1. For a team that needed help in the trenches, taking 1 guy on the lines in the first 5 picks, then not playing him/changing his position/forced to play him, speaks volumes to the talent evaluation we're dealing with here.  Fitts isn't innocent either, rolling with Erving/Elflein/Paradis/and the scrap heap of backups we have.

Horn was good before the injury, but can't help but think we'd have been better off with Slater and there's still a small chance we didn't see any "bad" Horn. He's a rookie again next year.

Marshall was a luxury pick who can't see the field under Rhule. Would've been better off drafting a C or OG there. Can't throw the ball anyway, what's the point having your 2nd round pick be at best your 5th option?

I still think every name on the list has promise and has shown flashes, but I can't help but think we're getting 2 starters max out of a draft most loved at the time.

  2. It's honestly a pain in the ass for me to get to games at BOA. The girlfriend has been asking for a couple years to go to one now, just wants to see the experience I guess since she's not a big football fan.

Shoutout to Rhule, because even she no longer is wanting to go see the shitshow that is the Carolina Panthers. Merch I usually buy every year?  Naaaa I'm good.  Religiously tuning in every week?  Meh, I'll go play golf where I somehow get even less frustrated than watching this clown's team.

  3. At the end of the day, football and evaluation should be simple but is convoluted by "forward" thinkers trying to find an edge.  Keep it simple.

    1. Can they play?

    2. Are they smart/good teammate/etc.?

    3.  Oh yeah, can they play?

When you start solely nixing players because of certain athletic or body measures, and not what's on their tape, you're going to fug up.

  4. Rhule better not have a single bit of input on a QB, especially in the 1st.

No point drafting a QB he wants with him on the hot seat. It's not a Trevor Lawrence/Jax scenario where any coach would be clamoring to coach him. If Tepper lets Rhule continue to have his way?  After what we've seen so far? Mr. Brass Balls is a freaking joke.

What do you want to see happen in an ideal situation?

Can't argue with much of your plan.

    1. Fire Rhule. Hire an actual NFL staff. Hell, at this point even Jim Caldwell would at least get us some respect among players.

    2. Trade CMC. Other people can be on the table, but we've got to move on from that contract. Send him to Kansas City, Buffalo, etc. for whatever we can get at this point. People wanting a 1st or 2nd are dreaming. Take a 3rd or 4th and use the cap savings to invest in people who can stay on the field or OL. Honestly just about anyone on the team is on the table.

    3. Trade back in the 1st. Maybe even twice. From there, draft the best OL available with our now 1st rounder in the 20s, draft OL & a Sam Howell type QB in the 2nd with the two picks we gained there.

    4. Sign Cam to a 1 deal with the understanding he's mentoring Howell, retirement tour, retire a Panther.

    5. Like signing Reddick & Gilmore, but Reddick may be a hard sell after we sever his tie here with Rhule. Gilmore is a priority, assuming Donte walks.

    6.  Sadly, don't think we'll be that active in FA. Also don't want to mess up any comp picks we may gain from Reddick, DJax, etc. Depth OL & other pieces only unless we go after a LT.

With a new coach and rebuilt (& young) OL, let Cam start the first half of the season+ if need be. Play the young guys, supplemented by our good vets, and get back to showing some potential.  Gain some respect back and let the OL gel as the new QB takes over to end 2022 or start 2023.

Already posted elsewhere by @Cookie Lyon but relevant here...

I mean, if players are really talking about him like this... 😳

Worth remembering theres a lot of friendships between these two rosters.

Posted it in a thread a couple weeks ago, but a friend of mine was watching a game at a party where Kuechly and other former Panthers were.  Luke & Bersin (yes, Bersin) were both yelling "F that guy" at the TV about Rhule.  I don't think he has many allies in the NFL, and there's a method to him loading up on Temple/Baylor guys who've bought into his BS already. He can't win over a pro locker room, can't win over former players, and we're never going to attract or retain anyone of worth here who doesn't have a connection to Rhule from college.
