I'm sure he's not wrong but he's got a lot of nerve.

I stand corrected. Ron did a good job with the team culture

Cam Newton was the greatest shortage yardage weapon in NFL history. Cam was a unicorn as a runner. Ron embraced it which IMO was the right call and most coaches would have never done it. Embracing what made him special. On and off the field. Ron did both.
I still think Ron gets too much hate on Cam. The real injustice was the roster around Cam, not how Cam was used.
I can't give him off the field after the tie nonsense

This is a must watch for any fan. The most he's ever said on his career. It's nice to see the guy speaking and living freely now.

I think he's right that Luke would have stuck it out for longer if they had their poo together. Probably best for him that they didn't.

Recently I'd go with Chinn's back-to-back TDs in Minnesota

Cam was the high point of this franchise and I'll never fully forgive them for wasting our window with him.

Best for everyone I think. His coaching days are done but I like keeping him around as a consultant.

Sure you can. Velocity, angle, air time, loft, accuracy. Every one of these can be measured without a receiver. Either he can get the ball there at an elite level or he can't.
We're talking about defenses crowding the box last year though. Could be because they don't think Bryce can throw it, or they saw our origami offensive line, or they knew our bozo coaches weren't calling deep balls, or maybe the league isn't afraid of DJ Chark. We don't know how much each part played into it. It could be any or all of it.
I admit I checked out as the season went on so I could have just missed them, but I don't remember many plays falling apart because Bryce underthrew. We're mostly going off the fact that we avoided going deep but I have a hard time running with the narrative that they were working around Bryce's arm when everything that staff did was inept and nonsensical.

Nobody feared Bryce's arm talent regardless of the oline or receivers.
We can’t assess that in a vacuum. Defenses don’t care how strong his arm is if the protection and receivers can’t support the deep ball.

We know teams do controlled leaks through these media guys. Look at the NBA with Woj and Shams. Otherwise they'll just find an inside source. Better to atleast control the narrative yourself.
I think the calculated leaks from the Panthers are too obvious though. During the push for Watson I remember convenient rumors going around that sounded like they came straight from Tepper's mouth

I want to see Bryce Young call up his new receiver, and the other receivers, and start working with him on his own
where is he ?
most qbs do these things and do things with their teammates away from the facility during off season
Many times i feel like young just doesn’t give a poo, he goes through the motions, and it really bothers me
‘cold blooded’ is a generous description from Canales
so to net it out, lipstick on a pig is still a pig…I’m having a hard time because we may need to change pigs at the QB position in 2025 I’m not sure he has a nfl level arm
really really hope he shows up this year …and that’s why I’m not optimistic
"Going through the motions" is spot on but I think that was because he was a rookie expected to lead a dumpster fire with clueless coaches, not a lack of caring. All he had to go off was prior knowledge. Looked mechanical like he was back in QB camp, but in a bad way because the scheme and personnel weren't doing him any favors.
But yeah I need to see some fire from Bryce now. More of the emotional moments we saw last year. Rookie grace period is over and his college accomplishments are firmly in the rearview. His work ethic was hyped up as much as the processing. I'll be excited if he hits camp like he's got something to prove.

the Bryce Young pass attack IMO should be priority #1. That an easy/cheap add and part (of many) of fixing Bryce.
I'd rather a TE in that case. Really don't like adding a third RB when Sanders isn't playing up to his contract yet.
-
The return on Burns sucks but going all in on the o-line makes sense to me. If that group's finally strong then next season is our definitive look at what Young is capable of. If he continues to struggle then we've already rolled out of the red carpet for his replacement.
The defense has been thoroughly gutted though and that worries me.

In the end Tepper got taken by metrics yet again. Rhule conned him out $60 million talking analytics and it was wrap for Stroud when that test score came back. Pray he's learned that football doesn't work like the the stock market.

Do I seriously need to connect the dots for anyone that they are too involved in this and meddle when the wife of the owner who has only been married to him for barely 5 years does an unprompted interview as Panthers "owner" and proceeds to tout the concerts and events the stadium has hosted while making no mention of the win/loss record of the football team?
She and Dave need to hire people let them do their jobs and stay out of day to day football operations.
So now you're mad that she's not talking about football? Concerts and events are the kind of extracurricular bs I would expect her to be on. Who cares

That's probably what they will do except they will unfortunately exclude QB. If there is a QB sitting there that has a reasonable chance to be better than the one we have?
If that happened, they would pass. I’d sure love to hear the discussion over it. (edit: take the damned QB, the one we have has not given us a reason not to).
For me, I want a special player and don’t care what position. Just be special. Absolutely do not pass on special. A center, a returner, safety, don’t care what their position is. Do that and go find more of them.
With all of our needs on offense I can't imagine a scenario where a quarterback is BoPA

I know I keep beating this drum, but wtf are Ball and Williams doing? Who misses 3 months with a bruised back? And I know ankle injuries are more complicated, but I was at the Memphis game several weeks ago and Ball was doing an individual workout before the game. He looked perfectly fine. These guys just come across as soft to me. I know they’re talented, but you can’t count on them. You can’t build a team around soft players like that.
Is it normal for NBA players to sit out as long as they want to? Does the team not have any say in players returning from injury?
And risk re-injury for what? A lower pick in the draft? They've probably been ready for awhile but are being kept on ice at this point.
