The NFL as a whole is going more and more out of the shotgun. Jonathan Alexander mentioned Sunday Bryce is 10th in the NFL in pct out of the gun. I believe NC State ran primary out of the gun in the spread too. The lack of movement and motion is the most alarming thing to me. And as it’s been pointed out. It’s at the same pct and eearily similar to what he was doing in Indy before he was told to get lost. It was just out of another base scheme. Any modern day passing heavy offense uses a ton of pre snap motion etc. and we’re literally doing none of it. as Josh Norris said last week. Frank Reich is outdated in todays league.

So saying a player looked good in the Wilks scheme last year when they decided to slide a TE over to his side to help pass protect is a crap take. My Word. What has this place come to.

This is why I don’t use PFF as gospel. Because was or was not Ickey on Sweat all Thursday night. Sweat lead the Bears with a massive 8 QB pressures. I Still laugh at the days where PFF gave Matt Kalil a good graded on some games despite looking like a turnstile and getting Cam killed.

Wasn’t he getting worked in preseason and regular season pre Brady injury as well. I believe this was the big talking point in preseason was him looking awful now that he didn’t have the TE over helping him this year.

Can he though? I know he run blocked better in a power run scheme. But even in Wilks power run scheme. They always had a TE over helping him in pass pro. Also. I’m not sure how much a scheme change effect him jumping or holding people. He’s currently 3rd in the entire NFL regardless of position in Penalties this season.

Our friend @ellison his podcast mentioned that a friend of his who is a scout for a prominent team in the NFL told him this. We may have to still continue to look for our franchise LT this offseason.
