The Panthers games had become a miserable experience lately. Even if Cam doesn't play great I'm just happy to see him back. This season was going to be merciless if something didn't change. I said in a previous thread "why not Cam?" before the announcement, and the answer is is here.

We're going to try to run the ball a lot to limit the number of times Cam throws the ball, thus reducing interceptions. When we do throw it needs to be the easiest passes possible within reason give the yardage needed. Cam will target CMC a lot as that is a no brainer. Should be fun to see him out there again next week.

This Sunday.. Tight Game.. We're on the goal line........

Yeah Cam will need more than a couple of days to learn the system. It will be PJ against AZ and I'd put the odds of him being injured at high. We could have a crazy scenario where PJ gets clobbered and Cam has to go out there. -

Cam can't be worse then Sam. I'd rather watch a lesser version of Cam than PJ desperately try to do something. Even so, we still need to keep an eye out for a rookie QB in the upcoming draft. -
CJ is young and new to the team. He doesn't understand the defense at the moment, and that is fine. He needs some time to pick it up. It's only a bad deal if he doesn't pan out in the long run. If he begins to comprehend the defense then look the hell out. CJ is built like a damn elite CB and he will be smothering WRs if/when the light comes on.

CAM NEWTON IS NOT THE ANSWER. THIS IS A MISTAKE.

Yeah there is no question about that, but it's hard to imagine that we couldn't improve the o-line at all with that Darnold money. You appear to be on top of free agency more than real Hurney ever was here. -

Yeah that money could have been used for better o-line free agents, but now it's up in smoke with no benefit to the team. Zero benefit. Dumb move. -

If we were giving Cam a multi-year deal then I would be extremely upset. He has a "prove it" deal and he's off the books if he poops the bed. I am 100% ok with that. Had we done that with Sam I would have been fine with it. What you don't want is to be locked into a longer deal with a guy who could poop the bed. We're all good with the Cam deal, but we'll be punished next season with the Sam deal. We need to be smart. That's all I ask. -
Fitterer says " We'll have to do something with Sam. "

The only reason we wouldn't make an offer for Watson when trading resumes is if Cam blows up and plays at a high level for the remainder of this season. If Cam plays poorly, then a good offer will be made for Watson. The Panthers clearly don't want to wait around until the 2024 draft to find a QB, and I don't either. Make it happen with Cam, or make it happen with Watson. Otherwise turn off the tv on Sunday because we are many seasons away from having anything decent on offense.
