  1. The Panthers games had become a miserable experience lately. Even if Cam doesn't play great I'm just happy to see him back. This season was going to be merciless if something didn't change. I said in a previous thread "why not Cam?" before the announcement, and the answer is is here.
  2. I don't even think I realized how much Sam was wearing on me as a fan until Cam came back. That blank expression on Sam's face after he throws all those picks just took the life out of me.
  3. We're going to try to run the ball a lot to limit the number of times Cam throws the ball, thus reducing interceptions. When we do throw it needs to be the easiest passes possible within reason give the yardage needed. Cam will target CMC a lot as that is a no brainer. Should be fun to see him out there again next week.
  4. Yeah Cam will need more than a couple of days to learn the system. It will be PJ against AZ and I'd put the odds of him being injured at high. We could have a crazy scenario where PJ gets clobbered and Cam has to go out there.
  5. Cam can't be worse then Sam. I'd rather watch a lesser version of Cam than PJ desperately try to do something. Even so, we still need to keep an eye out for a rookie QB in the upcoming draft.
  6. CJ is young and new to the team. He doesn't understand the defense at the moment, and that is fine. He needs some time to pick it up. It's only a bad deal if he doesn't pan out in the long run. If he begins to comprehend the defense then look the hell out. CJ is built like a damn elite CB and he will be smothering WRs if/when the light comes on.
  7. Yeah there is no question about that, but it's hard to imagine that we couldn't improve the o-line at all with that Darnold money. You appear to be on top of free agency more than real Hurney ever was here.
  8. Yeah that money could have been used for better o-line free agents, but now it's up in smoke with no benefit to the team. Zero benefit. Dumb move.
  9. If we were giving Cam a multi-year deal then I would be extremely upset. He has a "prove it" deal and he's off the books if he poops the bed. I am 100% ok with that. Had we done that with Sam I would have been fine with it. What you don't want is to be locked into a longer deal with a guy who could poop the bed. We're all good with the Cam deal, but we'll be punished next season with the Sam deal. We need to be smart. That's all I ask.
  10. The only reason we wouldn't make an offer for Watson when trading resumes is if Cam blows up and plays at a high level for the remainder of this season. If Cam plays poorly, then a good offer will be made for Watson. The Panthers clearly don't want to wait around until the 2024 draft to find a QB, and I don't either. Make it happen with Cam, or make it happen with Watson. Otherwise turn off the tv on Sunday because we are many seasons away from having anything decent on offense.
  11. I think we all have pretty much given up on this being some sort of amazing winning season. Now at the very least we can say that we ended things the right way with Cam. That means something to me, and we can figure out the rest after the season. It's only a one year prove it deal, so Fitt is getting smarter after the Sam 5th year option debacle. I just want to see the Rhule era learning and improving from its blunders.
  12. Keeeping Sam long term as our backup QB wouldn't be the worst idea imo. NO team in the NFL will sign him as a starter.
  13. I guess PJ will keep his juice to himself on the sidelines.
  14. If enough of the players/coaches catch COVID then yes (God forbid).
  15. Odds that injury happened in the ATL game? HIGH.
  16. Not if we land Watson in March. Otherwise yes it's wrap until like 2025.
  17. It's looking like Watson or just do something else next season on Sundays.
  18. Oh and we haven't seen the worst of this yet. Wait until they tee off on Darnold and seriously injure him, and we start PJ for the rest of the season. PJ is going to be the ultimate blooper reel. You'll either drink yourself to death or laugh your ass off every Sunday.
  19. We're a team with a terrible QB. That's the worst thing that can happen. Anything else within reason would be better.
  20. Rhule is going to look more and more exhausted as the season progresses, and the players are going to turn on him. Rhule will ride everyone hard to try and fix this, and when the wins don't come guys will start playing not to get hurt.
