Logically this is a smart move. There is no financial risk in signing him, because with the contract he is going to receive he could be cut at any time. Additionally opening up some conversation with him now while his stock is so low may build up some good will between him and the organization over teams who are waiting to see if he's squeaky clean and could be advantageous to us if it comes down to a personal decision where to go for him. That said, it isn't going to happen. This team cares too much about people's perception of us.

From the looks of Trai Turners twitter, he's definitely going to be badgering him.
-
Can't we work out some cheap workaround with him where we give him the maximum contract for a UDFA on a 1 year deal with the understanding that we'll compensate him for the money lost after it expires?

I mean you'll see random cops out in the street tasing male cashiers she purchased fruit from at the Food lion in '83 and asking them to come in for a couple questions

I'm not a legal expert but I do watch a lot of Investigation Discovery and whenever a lady is killed, literally every male that has ever known her in her entire life becomes a person of interest. Him being asked to come in "for questioning" means absolutely nothing and I'd hope Gettleman is throwing all the chips in to bring him here

I'd be really frustrated if we didn't go after him with every thing we had. This could be big for us .

Damiere Byrd WR, South Carolina to Panthers

It doesn't sound like Cotchery is going anywhere based off the recent draft interviews. Few other guys he'll have to beat out as well. -

Has potential as a strong gunner. -
if I'm a young player why do I even go to a team that has invested like 7 high picks in the position over the past few years

Robert Lester will still always have my heart as one of the best UDFAs of all time for the MNF int. and "not this time" finger way he gave Brady as the games closing seconds waned off

Guy had a good senior bowl week too. A little overshadowed by Steven nelson or he may have been a legit riser.
-
He can't. He can only do that if he's drafted at all. It's sign with a team or find a new career. I'd open a line with him and start building a relationship.

Ladarius Gunter as a Safety is interesting, Dezmin Lewis is gone.

Prewitt is an interesting name. Lot of talk about him being a 4th/5th round guy. Wonder if he'll make it through these last batch of picks. Doesn't look like a great UDFA class (by UDFA standards) Last year was a lot better.

lololololol "Nate, tell us about Iraq"

I agree largely with your individual grades. Would probably switch the Thompson and Funchess grades, and then perhaps lower them each a tad. But I agree for the most part.

thanks for reaffirming all my beliefs then. -

Honestly given your reputation for archaic, outdated pappyisms (and terrible jokes) I'd be pretty concerned if you were agreeing with what I said -

Interesting you doesn't interest me. This isn't speculation about a future trade or whatever. He's echoing sentiments said to him by league officials. Either you think he's lying about that or the point stands.
