  1. Will address each comment separately ... "5 Year Hole": If that happens, it's no different than where we were anyways when Mack refused to retire 2-3 years ago. BB may not work out, but at least the administration swung for the fences. Who else would you have hired in mid December last year? Think about how bad our talent is now, and then multiply that by 10 with what some low level assistant we plucked from wherever would've been able to bring in with no time and no budget. "Sticking Around / Son as HC": I have to imagine if BB quits before any success, that wouldn't bode well for his son sticking around. The fan base, alumni and administration aren't going to want to be reminded every Saturday when we are getting beat by William & Mary that there is a Belichick on the sideline. "Pivot": In my opinion, there are only two pivots to make if Belichick doesn't work. 1) Dump a truckload into football NIL, although not sure that's even feasible or 2) Take all that football NIL, dump it into being a dominant basketball school again, and relevant in football once every ten years with the luck of getting a Howell or Maye who are in state Tarheel kids.
  2. How many of those were also without Bridges and/or Miller? How many games did all three of them play together in? That would be a more telling stat - although it's probably still not very good.
  3. I agree this season is off to an absolute poo show, and trending towards a 4 or 5 win disaster, but I'd give Bill at least 3 years to make some improvements. Right now the roster is a joke because of the late start to recruiting and the lack of money spent. If they don't pull in at least 3 or 4 major portal guys going into next season - and especially a QB - then I'll give up all hope for this program eternally. Even when Bill was hired, there was no part of me that thought he would lead to a national championship (ever) because we'll never compete with SEC and Big Ten money to attract elite talent. But I do think Bill could put a program in place that results in 10 wins consistently (given the horrible ACC) and make us at least look like we've seen a football before. That's more than Mack ever did in any season except for one, in his two tenures in Chapel Hill
  4. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/46304114/nba-rank-2025-2026-flagg-beal-reaves-best-players-100-51 Miller at #76, Ball at #63. Draymond at #51 nullifies this whole list. But par for the course for ESPN. Some other really questionable rankings.
  5. No it's not, that would be moronic to not take rushing into account in today's game.
  6. Expected points through rushes is factored in. I didn't discount his rush yards. Now if you are arguing that he's the best dual threat QB in the ACC, I'll agree with that.
  7. Current reality is Haynes is 5th in the ACC in overall quarterback ratings. There's not a single category that produces those rankings where he's better than Carson Beck.
  8. The original quote was "Haynes is the best QB in the ACC". He's not. If the quote had been "Haynes is the most valuable QB to his team in the ACC". I'd not argue that.
  9. This makes no sense. Do you work in the Panthers front office? Haha. Like above, this makes no sense. How else would you rank QBs other than their ability to play the position at the highest level. I was a better high school basketball player than Dennis Rodman. That doesn't make me a better basketball player than Dennis Rodman.
  10. Beck is a douche, but he's significantly better than Haynes. Haynes is an incredible athlete playing QB. It would be like saying The Golden Calf of Bristol was a better QB than Matthew Stafford when they were both in school.
  11. As bad as Gio is, imagine being a Richmond fan and having to watch their QBs.
  12. Huepel is one of the best offensive minds in all of football.
  13. Speaking of timeouts, why didn't Bill call one there. Allowed 40 seconds to run off the clock we could've used for an end of the half drive and score.
  14. Somebody call in a health and welfare check for Nico Imaleaveya.
  15. Max Johnson, and his game tape (and leg injury) says he probably aint it either.
  16. I thought my TV was lagging watching 31 run back that punt for Carolina. Dude is sloooowwwww!
  17. Nothing like getting a gift short field to watch your short QB short arm a short throw and have the drive come up short.
  18. Agree. 6-6 record his last season at South Alabama, barely 200 yards passing per game and for a guy who is supposedly mobile, he only rushed for like 40 yards per game. Those would be subpar numbers for a true freshman starting at a power school, much less a veteran playing in a conference where the talent is barely D1. Also doesn't help that Freddie Kitchens' play calling is equally atrocious.
  19. Their offense vs Ohio State's defense would be interesting.
  20. Also hilarious that Nico Imaleaveya is 0-3 at UCLA.
  21. Agreed, we are saying the same thing. I just don't think Canales not calling plays would make any difference on how bad he, this team, or our fans are.
  22. Disagree. Explain to me how Canales calling (or not calling) plays changes that this team is void of talent and management. Whether Canales is voicing the calls into huddles, or standing by as a listener, has literally zero impact on this team being good. If you think Canales passing a headset to another person makes us a Superbowl contender, good luck with that model.
