CMC will be 27 starting next year. I don't see this team really competing for at least 2 years, probably. He'll be 29 and closer to the dreaded 30 at that point. We know how that usually goes. Not to mention the injury history he's already had. He may continue to be great past 30 of course, because his ability as a receiver is just as good, but just going by how that position usually goes it just made sense. The 49ers are in a much better position and believe they have a window so they overpaid because they can use the last of the CMC prime years. We just wouldn't be able to use those correctly. Plus we now get to see CMC with a better team and coach which should be fun. He deserves it. It's what Steve Smith never got till he was already close to retiring and we all have wondered how he would have been with better coaching and QB play.

I really feel like no one is safe on this team, or should be. Maybe the people on rookie contracts is about it. And Shaq, if we could get a 2nd I'd be surprised but I'd take later picks and be happy. He shows flashes but that's about it, just flashes. He's just not a cornerstone.

Well it's not up to him, it has to be voted on across all owners and since the NFL is mostly a profit sharing model it wouldn't make sense to the others.

I doubt this team is moved. It is a pretty decent market and it sells out every game. It wouldn't make sense to move a team that still sells out even when terrible.

Can we please not judge DJ when he's had these QBs throwing to him? He put up good seasons with bad QBs but it hit a head eventually. This is the worst offensive in the league and possibly in Panthers history. If we didn't have CMC getting yards out of pure willpower it would be. Robbie is just bad. Last year he led the league in drops and while Darnold is obviously a bad QB, he would have had a lot more success if Robbie could catch a ball.

The NFL has these type of judgement calls for a reason, and that is to push the momentum of a game the way they see fit. This is why rules never get cleared up and we'll never really see these things reviewable.

Time to start over. Again. New GM and new coach. Trade anyone that nets some decent value. Draft and start a rookie draft pick or Coral first. This isn't working. Also get a coach that cares more about offense in an offensive league.
