That shirt is actually pretty dope

We're remaking iconic album covers for each of the away cities we're going to this year, but with a Carolina twist. They're pretty fun.

  2. If any of y'all are heading down to ATL (or up, or wherever you're coming from) and want to link up we've got ~230 rolling down for this one. Here are a couple places you can join.

    Saturday:

8p - Omni Coffee & Eggs - this is J-No's place in Downtown Atlanta. We've got an event there from 6p-8p, but at 8p it opens to all Panthers fans. They'll have a cash bar and some food for purchase. Josh said he was going to stick around for a little bit of the 8p-until part. Not totally sure how long, but if you want to throw him a high-five, then you should come closer to 8p. He has a space next to the coffee shop that is set up for events, has a bar, etc....

    Sunday:

9a - Tailgate in the Marshalling Yard. Everyone is welcome to come hang out before the game. If you want us to provide your food and drinks you can buy a pass here. Or, you're welcome to BYOB and just come and join us.

Here is a link to the stadium parking map. If you want to come and park close, you should park in the yellow lot.

Lastly, here is a pick of our ATL trip shirt just because I think it's fun.

does the Riot have any events saturday night? my bro is flying in sunday am so I'll hang out with him separately on gameday but I may be in ATL the night before with nothing to do... @RoaringRiot ?

Yeah. We got a thing with J-No for people on our trip and then it will open to all fans. I think he is planning to stick around for a bit once it’s open to everyone. I’ll share the details on Friday for anyone who wants to come through

just got back, saw Barbie too it was pretty good.

I can't keep up with all of these comments anyways. Obviously the focus is on me as a person, me drinking, and a bunch of other crap rather than focusing on this shitty franchise and product we keep making excuses for.

I'll be bumping this thread at the half way point for sure.

then we'll see what the next excuse is.

fug, I walked out of that poo. First movie ever. i thought it was absolutely terrible.

  5. Hey @GOAT, I actually enjoyed that rant and love the passion/emotion. I, personally, live in the “it’s only practice” camp. But, after what we all have sat through the last several years, I do agree not seeing any signs of competency in either of these two games is frustrating. I agree with several posters that it will probably be midseason before we start clicking, but if they do look like this week one it’s definitely not gonna feel good or be fun. But again, even though I don't agree I have no problem with it.

However, I did see your comment about our members being a bunch of drunks. If you're gonna get worked up about people addressing your comments about drinking, then maybe stereotyping a group of 6000+ people probably isn't the right play….

FWIW….I LOVE drinking beers during the day on game days and being in bed with a pizza at 6p.

Lots of people seem to be having trouble with embedding tweets lately...

yeah, I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. But I haven’t posted here consistently in a long time, so I just assumed it was me being an idiot.

I'm glad you bumped this, I missed it the first time around.

Cool, I'm glad you saw it. Not sure I'll have much more news to make it bump-worthy. But it's going to be a pretty cool day. Hope you can make it.

Ahhh sh*t. I might have to come from ATL just for this appearance. One of my favorite groups. Would be real dope if they could somehow convince Carolina Boy, Anthony Hamilton, to come as their guest for “po folks” and “sick and tired”

FUN FACT: The weekend we're doing this event is "Nappy Roots Day" and is thrown in ATL. They're having NRD in Charlotte to perform at our festival. That seems neat.

Maybe he was just nervous about performing the song.  Just having him show up and talk to fans would have been awesome.

No, he was definitely worried that we were somehow pranking him. I can understand that though.

With Sir Purr and the Topcats attending I am assuming some level of official team support for The Roaring Riot for this event?   Getting their social media to help promote?  I always wondered why the team does not promote and support you guys more

Nah. We are hiring them. No freebees.

edit: we’ve talked to them about being involved but nothing from them so far for any commitment.

My personal feeling is that  the current coaching and front office team is gonna be making your chosen task easier in the years to come, potentially a lot easier.

I hope so, man. Been a rough few years trying to do fun stuff when no one cares (including me).

Regardless, best of luck with this. Hope it turns out even better than you hope for.

Cant remember which one, but I think he’s got a pretty big game on Sunday

I’d love to see Better than Ezra, they were pretty good back in the day. These are for the home tailgate parties, correct?

One day event. The Saturday before the home opener
