If Washington offers their 25' 1st for 33, I'm taking that trade and David goddamn Putney and running.

If his typical hurry up enthusiasm holds true, he should get there by 2026.

AR just didn't have the experience for me to like him, but we would have Moore here and our first rounder. I had the same concerns about injuries. Unfair to AR, I got Willis vibes from him.
Having said that, I am 100% convinced that the supporting cast is everything to the success of a QB and we had no supporting cast.
With a new system, a decent OL coach, some new blood at WR, we are going to be much improved. Not sure about the defense--improving the offense might expose some weaknesses on D.
We could not have had worse ownership, front office decisions, coaching, and talent than we had in 2023.
He seemed raw for the NFL level but he had those flashes of "it" that you either have or you don't. Steichen was the only choice as HC was Ben Johnson backed out. At 9, I think he would have been fine to sit behind a Darnold and learn until he was up to speed, but in Reich's system, he might have made Mitch Trubisky look like Pat Mahomes.

6. I wanted Stroud but I bought into the negative rumors that swirled and i believed the positives about Bryce, I believe the more intelligent an athlete you are, the more you put yourself into favorable situations. I am not giving up on Bryce---I have seen QBs turn it around many times before. I have seen them bust much more often.
My choice was AR but only at 9 with no trading up. Big however though, I thought pairing him with Frank Reich would have been a huge mistake because he definitely wasn't the coach to unlock his potential. The biggest concern I had with AR has already come to fruition, that his playing style would land him on IR. He doesn't have the body size to play like Cam did.

ISM. Dude has been electric when he touches the ball, but he rarely gets to touch it for some damn reason. He seems like he's got a huge chip on his shoulder. I'd like to see him more involved in the offense other than just a random play here and there.

He shouldn't care. We're all anonymous idiots who think we know more than we do with opinions and a platform.
Compared to Scott Fitterer, we might indeed know more.

Doesn't he miss half of every season?
He doesn't always miss games, but the Chargers used him as a decoy a lot because he was playing injured and couldn't go full speed.

No reason at all to disrespect the man in general.
Being Bryce's dad however doesn't mean we need his input on roster building. If anyone is suggesting this common sense notion is personally disrespectful for a franchise that has the worst win percentage in sports the last few years well maybe assess what your priorities are.
On the other hand I guess he can't be any worse than Scott Fitterer or our scouting department responsible for the last couple years of drafts.
Fitts was probably the most successful GM I've seen at getting it wrong. His ability to defy the odds was indeed impressive. A clock is right twice a day, except in the alternate universe that was Scott Fitterer's office.

So now we pivot to not starting the first overall pick we traded for. The Huddle would have shititspants
There is no shame anymore in these debates.
Who gives a poo about if he's the first pick or not. He's either the best QB to start or he isn't. If he's not giving you the best chance to win, his butt needs to be on the bench.
Playing a QB that isn't ready does nothing but hurt your team.

That would have been completely pointless
Trying to win is never pointless until you're out of the playoff run.

I told people he would be cheap. We didn't bring him in because they know he would beat Bryce for the starting job.
Nyah. It's Bryce ride or die our way to 1st in 2025. Can't afford for him to have any excuses.
Personally I think you always try to improve regardless of where they're drafted.

We're trading up for Brock Bowers
Someone release some bad S2 scores and we can get him at 33

In fairness. Only huddlers thought Morgan was in over his head.
In fairness, huddlers have witnessed the poo show Morgan was part of that led us where we are. Winning the offseason is great. Winning in the regular season is something completely different.

Might be a chance to learn something behind a decent QB If not, he's likely out of the league anyway.

If we got offered 2 potentially high 1sts and a high 2nd for Brown, you gotta seriously consider that offer. Unless we see something like that, extend and pay him and get it done.

I know Allen has had some injury issues and is getting up there in age, but he’s still pretty darn good and they only got a 4th for him?
That’s an odd one to me, feels like the Chargers got taken in that trade
It's probably the contract, but yeah, a 4th seems low. I'd have expected a late 2nd or high 3rd at least.

There's at least 3-5 heavy reaches in the first that cause guys to be available you wouldn't think would be there. I prefer we stand pat and select the best. Don't get cute. 33 is a great value pick that you shouldn't move down from.
If anything, you trade a pointless 5th or something to move up a few picks into R1 at like 29/30.
39 is a maybe if the return is in 40s, but I don't think you go much further down. If you're picking up an extra 3rd/4th, it's a quality/valuable return, and you'll likely get a guy in the same draft block available at 39.
Let's just select the best guy available. If there happens to be a team desperate enough for a guy, sure, maybe take advantage of that, but don't deploy this as a strategy.
Definitely not something I'd do as a strategy, but depending on the offer, it could just be too good to pass up. And if it is, well....

That stuff sounds cool, but spending some time in Germany with the kids and seeing a NFL game there sounds like a much better experience, and more memorable too.

Tepper is putting in grass at BOA
in Carolina Panthers

Not really. With the properly engineered system, you can have grass and still have the ability to have concerts, etc. It would just take someone with some inventive ideas on how to do it. I've already thought of how to and while it would require a significant investment, that cost would pale in comparison to losing your franchise QB for a season from growing turf injuries.
