  1. That doesn't even make sense. If he's game planning to his weaknesses you can also say he's game planning to his strengths as well. We've seen Bryce make tough throws. How many people threw up stats about Bryce being the most accurate deep ball passer this week? I would call that a strength. It's just, why did we not see that this game? We can also acknowledge that Seattle is a VERY good football team and very well coached. I just think Canales gets too conservative in these big games sometimes. You HAVE to take shots!
  2. Yeah he should, because what's the freaking difference? If we're not good enough then that is the REAL story. Sad part is Tampa is no better
  3. It's infuriating because this time of year when every game IS a playoff game you must throw a good amount of caution to the wind. Let your play makers make plays! It either happens or it doesn't but at least you give them the opportunity.
  4. Lol, fans screaming at each other. We're tied at half and held one of best offenses in the league to 3 points. Everyone chill! All and all... it could be worse! We've seen it
  5. Yeah, we're RIGHT there. Defense playing like they want it. Offense has to match intensity!
  6. Almost a turnover there at the half with 3 seconds left (backward pass). Canales really needs to get his play calling together. Defense playing lights out with zero help from a scared offense. This is playoff level football, time to play a little more aggressive on offense!
  7. Dave doing that "be super careful" play calling today. Play not to lose.
  8. No, you don't. But one of the elements that most fans have been asking for is play makers and big time plays in big moments. We had another big TD throw against the Saints, but again, the Panthers need it on a more consistent basis. Lack of it has been coaching AND personnel. To see some of it emerging is hopeful at best. They just cannot put it all together week to week. These last three games will tell us even more.
  9. Which is so confounding, considering the big time plays they made on 4th down against the Rams. They just cannot do it consistently. Seems like they are more relaxed and tuned in during the games they are not expected to win. Leans towards simply KNOWING you have the ability to do it. Then again, how much is Canales holding them back from it? Again, confounding!
  10. Look, maybe offer an opinion instead of just trolling. Tyler Shough in the what, 4 games he has started has more 200 yard passing games than Bryce has all season. Is that Bryce? Is it coaching? Is it just lack of overall talent? All of those could be true at the same time. So what exactly was wrong with his take Mr. analytics? Please, do share your other worldly insights. I've been a part of this forum since around 2013, and never have I seen fans of the same team act so nasty towards each other... to what freaking gain???
  11. This is exactly what I have said. This team does not have the "difference makers" yet. Rozeboom had a fumble right in his hands. Tmac had a TD right in his hands he just could not secure. Sure was a good play by the defender, but it was RIGHT there. The late hit on the slide by Shough to put them in better FG position. Horn getting beat AGAIN by Olave on a critical down. The pass rush was there today, those guys showed up. But... when the game was on the line and they needed a big time play, who stepped up?? Not ONE player! Panthers were in prime position to win this game. All they needed was one or two plays. Rozeboom coming up with that fumble, Horn breaking that pass up. Getting a first down when we went for it on fourth in that crucial moment. This all after a bye week and the Falcons helping them out by beating the Bucs. I know it's a fickle league, but if there are play makers in this team, they need to learn to step up during the most important times. They should not have lost this game! I mean, we had the momentum and everything looked good... what happened? Sorry for the rant, I'm just more upset over this loss to the Saints than the last!
  12. I will take solace in the fact that my high school football team won the state title Friday night. First time in 47 years! Go Watauga Pioneers! You know what I saw in that push for the title? A team in the quarter and semi-finals that made crucial plays when it was needed most. That's an element this Panthers team greatly needs. The players HAVE to step up and make makes... plain and simple!
  13. I don't think any individual team stands to gain anything from that though. Will be inconsistency across the board.
  14. Finally, an answer I can get on board with! I kind of lean this way too. Whether we like it or not, the league has done an incredible job of creating parity. There's not a lot that separates the good teams from just the ok teams. It just comes down to the leaders and star players in the team coming up big in the biggest moments. So far, the Panthers just cannot do that consistently. Will they? Is the talent there? Is the sheer determination in the locker room? We're going to find out.
  15. I wasn't being serious when I stated that. I don't buy into that notion at all
  16. Seems like this team cannot handle the spotlight, the pressure. Is there one thing, be it a player, a coach, etc.. What is needed most for this team to stop breaking our hearts? Is it just simply believing and trusting in each other? Panthers could certainly use a couple more pieces on defense. But what is it with this team? When everything is right in front of them they just seem to fold. Is it simply that they're just not ready?
  17. Just saying, we could have chosen CJ. I think Frank Reich wanted CJ but Tepper wanted Bryce. Nonetheless, Houston not talking about the 5th year option with him... or am I mistaken?
  18. I agree... the improvements we saw at the end of last year just has not materialized this year. I wondered the same thing. Is Bryce REALLY putting in the work in the off-season and during the season to be the best QB1 he can be? There seems to be a competitive fire that is missing with Bryce. I've been rooting for the kid, I really have. But yeah, there's a point where you just have to be honest about it. In Houston, they're not asking this question, right?
  19. I can't disagree with that notion for sure. Yeah, he'd REALLY have to show great improvement. Basically, if we win the division, MAYBE it's worth considering, but you're right, is he worth it in the long run... maybe not.
  20. I think the stupid stuff is coachable. I also think it is in fact a maturity intangible he could grow out of. Kid has a cannon for an arm and has size and mobility. Of course it's a gamble, but he's only 26. He shows passion when he's on the field and that what you want from your QB1. So if we could get him for the right price I think it's an option worth considering.
  21. I would be ok with Levis. He shows a competitive fire when he's out there. That's what's missing with this team.
  22. A lot of that is going to greatly depend on how he finishes. We're about to get the whole picture of him in the next 5 games. If he can stop being in his own head and just freaking compete he MIGHT be ok. Again, we're about to see. Bryce needs to just stop over thinking everything and learn how to want to simply win at all cost.
  23. This is what I've said. Bryce talks, walks, and sounds like he is still in high school. Your QB needs to be able to take command of a locker room and a team. The QB has to be very alpha! Just look at Drake Maye in his first year. Look at how he sounds and carries himself. Bryce just does not have that intangible. And it's not just about his size. It's about his confidence and his belief in his ability. He doesn't have that dog in him to be the best at his position. You can hear it and see it. Can he get there? He's still just a kid... but he needs grow a pair quickly!
