  1. Well Warner was a MVP and SB MVP winning QB before his late career struggles and subsequent resurgence. Dalton has never even come close to sniffing 2nd team all pro. Also I advise optimistic fans to not look at his playoff stats if you want to remain optimistic… There may be some comparable but let’s wait to read too much into Dalton until he’s strung a few months of solid play together. Remember, no teams have film on him in Canales’ offense

Yeah, people don't realize how bad our cap situation is. We can't be this low on the talent scale and also in cap hell.

The absolutely incredible thing is you would think a big reason for our cap issues is dead money from some of the big names we've traded away recently. While that is partially true this season, it is not even remotely a factor next year, where if Dalton plays well the rest of this year and we want to keep him we barely have enough money to sign him and our draft class lol.

-Fixed the offensive line The OL was elite 2 years ago and returned 3 of those players. He gave huge contracts to 2 IOL, and yes they've been good but it's 100% fair to question the allocation of cap space here.

-got a borderline number 1 WR for Donte Jackson Diontae is solid but is almost certainly a 1 year rental, Donte is balling out for one of the best Ds in years as a starter

    - then replaced Donte with arguably a better CB or at the least equal for a 6th round draft pick this was a good trade but MJ is nowhere near Donte's level.

    - drafted XL who looks likes hes gonna be a stud with his 6 catches for 77 yards on the year?

    - drafted a stud LB ( trevin wallace) with his 11 snaps played this year?

    - drafted our future at RB the guy we haven't even seen take a snap in shorts?

My responses in bold. Is this Dan's burner account or something? lol what a ridiculous post

I'm willing to give Dan some benefit of the doubt on a few of these things. I personally am high on Brooks but I'm not proclaiming him our future until we see him do something here. Not sold on Legette, of course his low stats have been partially due to Bryce but I haven't seen nearly enough from him to say he'll be a stud. Wallace can barely earn playing time and is overhyped, he could turn out to be great but again nothing we've seen yet suggests that will happen.

We're riding a high wave due to such a great game from Dalton, etc. last week, and I'm willing to see how things continue to play out with Dalton before making big proclamations, but I'm still highly skeptical of this roster as a whole and our cap situation is an absolute mess this year and next. We also really don't have a single star impact player on the team right now, D Brown is the closest thing but he's only shown it for 1 season before now getting a significant injury. Dan has been GM for less than a year but he's been AGM for several years before that and was a significant part of the front office that left us in this big mess.

I think it's more likely than not that Dan will be fired within the next 3 years. I hope I'm wrong but after years of having blind faith and getting bitten every time under Tepper, I've become much more of a realist.

Diontae has done nothing but get open all year, glad he finally got someone who could get the ball in his hands.  He might not be a "WR1" as some would say but he is a damn good player.

seriously cannot remember the last time we had such a good route runner. Smitty was probably the last one. Cotchery had pretty good technique but due to physical limitations his separation ability wasn't nearly as good as Diontae. Moore is a great player no doubt but I don't think he would get as open nearly as consistently as Diontae.

What schedule are you looking at? With Dalton at QB the only one of these that may not be winnable is NO....

    0-2 Bengals next

Of we get 75% of what we did today we could easily go 4-2 over the next six.

NO at home is absolutely winnable. They were terrible today and divisional games are always unpredictable no matter how the first meeting goes and no matter how good/bad each team is.

Drew Lock was with Canales in Seattle. Wouldn’t be surprised if they went after him

I wouldn’t even be opposed to Wilson or Lance if Canales wanted them. Just give him someone with a damn NFL arm

I'm not opposed to adding a guy like this for cheap because why not, but wouldn't want any part of that being the "plan" at QB. Dalton or other vet and high upside rookie in '25 or '26 should be the main plan. Wilson has been just as bad as Bryce, Lance is interesting but more as a flyer than a significant part of the plan.

Need to sign one of the young FA QB’s this offseason to see what Canales can do with them

Who are you thinking? I don't really have much interest in any of these QBs. Wouldn't be completely opposed to bringing Darnold back but if he continues like he's been playing he'd get paid big and even though I think he got a raw deal here I'm not really convinced he should be a longer term starter for any team in this league. Fields could be interesting but he's just not a franchise QB as a passer either. Maybe Lance but there's a reason no team was interested in trying him as a starter and the best he got was Dak's backup

First team/last team to score and touchdown scorer markets:

    • In the event of an abandoned game, bets stand on scores that have taken place already (and overtime counts for these markets).
    • Touchdown scorers are offered with the option of others on request. Markets are considered All-In.
    • Touchdown Scorer Combo bets are considered all-in. Other selections are available on request (See All-in Section).
    • Only when a player does not play a snap in that game are the selections voided.
    • For touchdown scorer markets, the winning selection is the player who possesses the ball in the endzone. For example - on a pass TD play, the receiver in the endzone is graded as the winner, not the QB.

glad I don't bet, such nonsense but yeah I guess gotta read the fine print

    Agree-ish on this

We can do that, but only way to do it is to openly say it’s to prevent him from injury while trying to trade him

As not even getting a jersey and being bumped down below Plummer without openly saying we’re trading him, would also hurt his trade value as well.

Its just a bad situation all around right now, hopefully someone just makes a dumb offer of like a 2nd for him and we jump all over it

Honestly the reality is nothing will really have any effect on his trade value, not even Dalton playing so well today. No team is trading for Bryce based on anything seen from him since he got to the NFL. They would be trading for his college pedigree and hoping they can be the ones to fix him and get that out of him again. But sure we could leak to the media that we are fielding trade calls.

Honestly I think we could potentially get an early day 3 pick for him just because he was a highly rated college prospect. Josh fuging Rosen fetched a 2nd and 5th and he was definitely as bad as Bryce. Teams will look at a trade like that and not give up that much again but honestly do think some team would pay a 4th or 5th for him, not just a conditional 7th. 2nd not happening. maybe a 3rd if a team is desperate enough, like Miami

fanduel sportsbook screwed me out $1100.  I had bets on "Andy Dalton scoring a TD on the panthers 1 st drive"  which I won but they said under house rules blah blah dalton needed to be the one in the endzone.  why didnt it say andy scores a rushing td then.  what othe rplay is there, he passes yo himself?

    lol wtf I'd fight that

Actually disagree with the "next week" part of this, but agree if you change that to "after the trade deadline"

His trade value will never be lower than it is this next week (unless he plays again and looks awful).

Dalton looking this good just makes Bryce look even worse, I think all those teams calling about Bryce this past week just lowered their offers for him after watching this one.  Need to wait a bit for Dalton to struggle a game and thus give Bryce a little more leeway in the eyes of other GM's as to him not being the entire problem.

agree with this although I would make him inactive and give Plummer or really anyone else the backup job. I don't ever want to see Bryce throw a pass for us again and Andy probably inevitably will miss some snaps here or there at some point. Bryce can't be the backup if that happens.

i never want to see another panthers rookie qb touch the field before the bye week. starting a qb right away is just playing against the odds. there is really no upside to it. It's not a short cut to getting experience faster because you're basically drowning the first couple games anyways and really they're likely to just get hurt or shell shocked. zero upside to risking it.

houston got lucky with stroud. they could've waited until the bye week and he'd still be the same player he is now, if not better.

well be prepared to be disappointed lol. couldn't disagree more with this take but so be it
