Tepper needs to hire someone with the experience, know-how, resumé and reputation for building a team, give them a title roughly equivalent to 'Supreme Ruler of Panthers Football' and let them do whatever they want.
This doesn't necessarily mean I want anybody in particular fired. It's an acknowledgement that this organization is broken and needs more than just patchwork.
While the first name that comes to mind for me is still Kevin Colbert, the passage of time is starting to make me think that might be a pipe dream.
If indeed it is, then I could also go for someone like Will McClay. Other suggestions are welcome, but whoever it is should likely be someone who's been in the game a long, long time.
Yes we’ve been saying this for years. Need Tepper to hire an established consulting firm to hire the leaders of football ops and the only thing Tepper should do is open his wallet and sit on his fat rich ass in his box and watch the team. It’s not gonna happen ever though. His ego is bigger than Jerry Jones’.

That's pretty fair. But give him CJ Stroud and it would look pretty much completely different.
Stupid is a strong word, but let's keep that in mind when calling out our non retread, even hired a year too early, head coach.
Idk man, CJ here would definitely be much better than Bryce but last year we still probably don’t win any more than 5-6 games, and CJ wouldn’t be anywhere near OROY. Reich just was not a good HC. I’m basing that mostly on his Indy tenure and I didn’t want him when we hired him either, so Tepper/Bryce have very little to do with it.

Reich was pretty well respected in the league and with garbage QB play in Indy amassed a better win % than Fox, Rivera, and coaching legend Steve Wilks.
WOW!
Seriously though, well-respected doesn't mean you're a good HC. I always viewed Reich as an offensive version of Rivera. Rivera actually has a better win % than him. Reich only made the playoffs with Luck and Rivers (Rivers was obviously at the end of his career but still a legit above average starting QB) never with "garbage QB play." Look, don't get me wrong, Tepper made Reich's job here wayyyyyy harder, but Reich was never a great coach and it was so stupid to go with a retread hire at the time, especially him.

I don't know what kind of coach Reich could have been.
What I do feel comfortable saying though is that he was not the problem last year.
Dude he was part of the problem for sure. Maybe hamstrung by Tepper forcing his hand on certain things, but even with Bryce being terrible, Reich did an awful job last year too and wasn't even that good for the Colts. It was a bad hire from day 1.

As a fan I never want to see the dude suit up for us again, not even as a 3rd string benchwarmer. HOWEVER, at this point just play him the rest of the year, secure 1st overall in 2025 then release him. No point in having Dalton try to win a few games to push us to like 8 overall.

Nah the goal isn't to win, and Bryce is an easy path to the 1st overall pick in 2025. I bet we see him play unless he gets injured, no matter how bad he continues to be.

4.3 yards per attempt LOL

Yeah I’d send him anywhere he wants to go. Back to MN would be fun for all involved. Get a 3rd or 4th round pick back
-
I’d say yes if his last name wasn’t a commonly used word. T ebow obviously is never used in any other context but “young” is used a lot

When do we play the Steelers again? Need TJ Watt to pay us back for what he did to Cam by taking out Bryce for us. Bryce should never play another snap for this team, but Canales clearly has a mandate from tepper

Tepper waited too late to try to be hands off. It shouldve been like that in the 2023 offseason when Reich wanted Stroud. Now we are handcuffed to Bryce and set back at least 5 more seasons.
I don’t think he’s trying to be hands off at all, personally.

Yeah but look at that completion percentage though… I remember that always being hailed as the most important stat back when we had a certain other quarterback.
that was always such a ridiculous argument against Cam. He’d be at like 59% but with 8ypa and some other QB would be 61% with like 6.5ypa and they’d say poo like “anything less than 60% sucks.” In Bryce’s case, I don’t give a poo if he completes 100% of his passes if they are all 2 yards or less lol. I can’t fathom how bad this dude is. YPA is probably the best single measure for a QB in my eyes and he’s by far the worst in the league in that measure last year and so far this year

Skipped the first half to play tennis with this chick I met. First time I’ve intentionally missed the first half of week 2 in like a decade. Zero regrets after looking at this box score lol, and not even planning to bother for the 2nd half. Chiefs late afternoon will fulfill my football fix. Thanks Tepper!

Depends who our GM is in this scenario and Tepper’s degree of involvement.

Not really ‘rooting’
wanted to see the game in Germany/Vegas…. My kids wanted to go to Philly, I can do without going to the armpit of America
Philly’s bad rep is unjust. Like any city it has some rough parts, Eagles fans were considerably better to me when I lived there than Pats fans here in Boston. A lot of historical stuff to do there too.

Any QB not named Daniel Jones / Bryce Young and we are competitive yesterday
lol not a fuging chance, this is incredibly delusional. Mahomes maybe makes it a 2 score loss, any other QB and it’s still a 3+ score loss. Bryce had enough to make it 5 scores, and it would’ve been worse if the Aints didn’t take their foot off the gas pedal, but no QB makes this team competitive yesterday

I don't really like any of those picks other than Sanders. If we get two average or better starters in the group, it was a good draft.
Otherwise.... woof.
I do think Brooks will be good honestly, but even if he is, it's literally at the least important position on O or D. We'll see on Legette but I'm not convinced he'll be better than any other WR we've had here that isn't named Smitty, Moose or DJ.

you mean a guy who's the size of a high school QB wasn't a bonafide #1 pick?
95% of starting high school QBs are bigger than Bryce

Go smoke a bowl and chill, Canales will be here next year.
idk man, Tepper is "mr overreact and make even worse emotional decisions." more games like this and Tepper will blow it all up again. will become an annual or biannual routine for this team.

Yes, we all know Bryce isn't an NFL QB. Not only not a starter but not even a 3rd or 4th string practice squad caliber QB in the NFL. I truly believe he will be 100% out of the league by 2027, maybe sooner. That said, I completely get how some here deluded themselves into believe maybe a "guru" like Canales could help him turn it around. He was 1st overall pick so he must have something he can show, right? I get it. Now we're all in agreement with the reality that he's not an NFL QB.
Well, as bad as Bryce was, he is merely a symptom and not the root cause. We could've had Mahomes and we still lose this game to the mediocre Aints. ST was a mess, defense was even worse than Bryce was and our OL was demolished yet again, the list goes on. Wholly unprepared, nobody seemed to give a poo about it either. Bryce smiling after a pick on his first throw.
What has been extremely clear to me since January 22 was that the rest of the team around Bryce would be complete ass, and none of our offseason moves would turn out to be successes. You know why? We had Fitterer for 3 years, in what is arguably the worst run from a GM in NFL history (influenced by Tepper meddling, certainly, but still). The worst trade in league history for probably the biggest 1st overall QB bust ever (at least Jarmacus had some talent that in theory could've been put to good use with a better attitude, Bryce just has nothing), terrible contracts left and right, trading away elite players while passing up 2 1sts for Burns only to turn around and trade him anyways for less than a 1st, this list goes on too.
How in the fuging world could anyone in their right mind think that the Assistant GM for that entire tenure, Fitterer's right hand man, be deserving of being promoted to GM? Seriously. Dan Morgan was a great player here before concussions and seems like an ok dude, but what the actual fug. How do you keep anyone around from that absolute disaster of a front office? I just do not understand it, knew it was a mistake at the time and my blind homer fan optimism/hopium led me to try to ignore that reality for much of the offseason, but it was 100% clear to me from the moment Tepper hired him. This will not work with Morgan, will not work with the HC he/Tepper picked, and nothing will work until Tepper is gone because he fuging makes decisions like this.
Yeah, add to the list of rants here, but it needs to be said as Bryce is getting most of the blame when in reality it's all Tepper and his terrible decisions like hiring Morgan as GM. Canales gets a bit of a pass as he's in way over his head and it's not his fault our dumb asses gave him a HC job well before he was ready.
