I do not think anyone is suggesting anything like that.  I doubt anyone has said anything remotely close about him being the answer.  Its just something positive in an otherwise crappy performance by the team. Especially for Sam Darnold.  I'll take it over the usual Sam Darnold passing performance.

Darnold had a great start under Brady and probably his best stats for that matter. Still even a passing guru like Brady couldn't get more than 6 games out of him. McAdoo has hid him well but if you're not winning games it doesn't matter much. Walker is still the best QB on the roster and that's not saying much.

Wilks is a good motivator and has this team believing they could win.  BUT when you get manhandled not once but twice there is something wrong with you in game adjustments. Cincinnati destroyed us and Pittsburgh demoralized us.

Bring in an offensive minded HC and he'll hire a protege to be the OC and then you find a DC that will stay a DC even after a good season. Someone who's been a HC before and realizes his position in this league is a coordinator.

Dom Capers is a Senior Defensive Assistant and is a perfect coach that fills my DC criteria.  He's been a HC twice.  His forte is defense.  If he were to come here as a DC he would probably stay even if we do well defensively.

Not a Huge fan of Capers and his roots are in the 3-4. As of right now we need a 4-3 guy because our players fit that better sans Burns. Wilks imo has a lot going against him. For one Al Holcomb will be DC. Second picking a OC will be an issue because his coaching tree is pretty thin. His failures in AZ will be his failures in Carolina if allowed to be head coach. He lacks experience and connections to win. Yes he's a great leader of men and is a better coach than Rhule but that bar is set really really low. Rhule was the absolute worst coach in the league. Whoever we try to hire they need a good coaching tree and also be a good leader and coordinator. That's why imo DeMarco Ryan and Shane Steichen are my top two guys. They both have a deep tree to pluck from and have excelled in being a coordinator. Something Wilks didn't do. Not only that but Steichen has developed two young QBs in recent history. Something we need deeply for a fresh start.

Crazy how all receivers that left Cam never produced again

That's because Cam was making them better. Rivera was a terrible coach for a Star like Cam. If we would have fired Rivera and hired Andy Reid we would have had multiple SB and probably Patrick Mahomes right now.

He was a big guy who played small.

Yes small in the way of not high pointing balls and boxing out guys. Not small in the way of taking shots. Dude got his jaw broken and finished the playoff game. Not to mention playing with broken ribs one season as well.

I don't even know is shaq will even be here next year.

I like Wilks. I like him as a dude and I respect the poo out of him. I just don't necessarily trust him as the HC. I feel like it's just more of the same of the Rivera/Fox Era's.

Cap wise it would be a good idea to release him and draft a cheap LB.

Oh, I get it. The right coach can come in here and hit the ground running. Just continue building off what we have.

That doesn't sound too difficult. Let the consultant pick a handful of candidates. Then let the interviews begin. Pick the guy who knows what we have, what he wants to do with it, and how he is going to go about getting it done. Bingo.

It sounds easy but if you look back at the Rhule hiring process and all the other coaches that interviewed none were that successful. You really have to have a FO that can find gold out of all the fools gold.

High picks are nice, I enjoy having them. But it takes losing to get em

I would much rather win. Winning begets winning

Happy Holidays to you and yours.

In a normal season I would agree but we could win the division and still be under 500 as crazy as that is. It's almost a lose/lose. I just want a team to be proud of and excited for. That hasn't happened in a very long time.

Yeah... Outside of the OL, we basically have almost nothing on offense... It's rough.  I like DJ and think with a better QB he'll be even better, but it's rough with him seeming to be our only consistent threat.

But we do have a good OL, and a bunch of good D pieces, so we're basically in a situation where if we are smart and lucky this off-season, I think we could turn it around... We will see tho.  Hard to know what to expect with the coaching search.

I understand the desire for the higher draft pick but I think this division is too shitty and this team is overall too good (relatively speaking) for that level of tanking. Of course if we'd kept Rhule we'd be in contention for the first overall pick, I think, lol.

A lot of Moore's and all the WRs for that matter problems are scheme. We also need two TEs to really be effective. It's why I would prefer a offensive minded coach. He could scheme a decent offensive and we have more talent on defense for a DC to work with.

since hes came back, its like hes an rookie alll over again.

I sure thought by now hed be a legit game changer and ready to clear out the spot for his statue....... he trending more jag than panthers ring of honor. rusty as all hell and teams are game planing by attacking him, i hope the next group can fix him.....another issue seems to be his confidence level too... yea his tackle number are high, cause the 9 yards gain happened right around his zone....

I'm pretty sure he's hurt. His punch and quickness just seems to be gone. That's just not the Moton I've seen in the past. He regularly dominated speed guys with his size and punch.

The comment I responded to wanted Fitterer fired too. That would leave Tepper in charge of shaping the entire braintrust.

That's not something I'd want to see.

I'm not totally sold on Fittstown either because of how much control Rhule had. If I was given the decision I would bring in outside help but I doubt that will happen.

I understand that a HC is going to be first on the agenda. Hopefullly followed by HC, Fitz and everybody involved in the process figuring out he QB position.

Unlike you, I see a team that has a solid foundation. There is plenty for the new coach to work with. Sans a QB.

I never said we didn't have a foundation. We have some good players on defense and a pretty good offensive line. Still we have a good bit of holes as well and it's why I see a high draft pick being better than a meaningless playoff game. If it were up to me I would have tanked so we could have had a chance at QB in the first or second but that's over now.

Rhule was a big Thomas fan as well.

I expect that has a lot to do with his being here still.

I had high hopes for the guy but the Jags just used both our cast off TEs to beat the Cowboys. We definitely made the wrong decision trading away Arnold and letting Manhertz go. Just another Rhule screw up.

You keep saying this is a "Bad football team". You do know that there are many, many ppl who ascribe to the notion that this is a pretty good young team, that only needs a quality QB, and an imaginative OC to compete.

Happy Holidays to you and yours.

You do understand those two things are probably the hardest to find. This team needs a good bit to become a good team and it's at some pretty important positions. With the right leadership and experience it could be turned around but we have to have all that first.

How come these people seem to just appear out of know where and being extremely antagonistic. I have never seen this Rex account before today. Makes me wonder if it is an alternate account for someone who has been banned.

More than likely. A bunch of them have popped up this year for some reason and they are also seasoned accounts that just haven't had activity.
