The Panthers were always paper tigers teams that can't play elite defense and be both mentally and physically tough get bounced....

The Rangers are a one line team who rely on their goalie.... who looks burnt out.... it just makes finishing off the Bruins more important, Pitt is as good of a round two as you can get and if the Panthers get bounced home ice until the SCF is the Canes.

My friend is a Rangers fan. I try and stay positive with him. Hell a 1st round playoff loss is progress for them.

Yeah, as I said before the hire I ideally want an offensive HC and one that can basically take over if it isn’t up to par.   Ron was close to a being the polar opposite and did it on the defensive side.

Rhule’s coaching career leading up to HC was basically to dabble in everything.  Jack of all trades, master of none.  Which in theory I guess is a good one to build a great resume to oversee a team.

Some of the best coaches have coached both sides but specialize in one. I mean it goes beyond that and being a successful NFL head coach is insanely hard and really depends on your evaluation of coaches around you. Rhule hasn't imo been great at that either. He believes his system is superior and I'm not convinced.

I think Ron was the most hands on with players and probably the most on an personal level too.

The fact Rhule made that really odd statement about finally sitting down with Sam somewhere near the mid season mark was always super weird.  But I guess in theory it could just be the fact that words and Matt Rhule get problematic and what he said and how it came off wasn’t actually the reality of it.

It's why I'm never really excited about coaches who are just managers. They don't really have a particular skill set other than evaluation. Bill Parcells is probably the best one to ever coach like that but not many have come close to his success.

We're going to have to pour it on in Boston and not let up on the gas. Going to have to play the refs as well up there.

Oh most definitely and Boston is going to be dirty as poo. Still they don't have the firepower we do on both sides. They are going to need the refs just to keep it close.

I think wildly inaccurate on deep throws is a gross exaggeration. Some get away from him but from what I’ve seen (and heard from most sources) he’s still accurate deep, just not as needle threading as short and intermediate.

Biggest problem I saw was he let balls hang up our under threw them. Both were because he has poor mechanics with his footwork. Same as Cam and Darnald. The big question is can BM progress him and get those problems gone. If he can then he will be a very accurate QB.

Foles Mayfield and Garoppolo for all their flaws have all had a winning record and started in the postseason before. In Sam Darnold's mind he has already arrived despite his status around the league.

None of those guys are worth their price. Hell Darnald is proof why those guys are just not good enough.

Me thinks you are maybe overvaluing the LT vs. the RT.  In todays NFL the "best" tackle isn't forced into the left side, used to be yes, when defenses typically put their very best pass rusher on the blindside.  That is over now.  Both sides have to be able to pass block and run block.

Moton is one of the best RT's in the league, we don't need a RT, we need a LT....and that needs to be Icky this year taking his lumps when we can't really expect to push for a playoff spot yet.

Me thinks you may be overvaluing a Rookie coming from the ACC. Some DEs do change positions but majority rush the LT. When you have a QB that sees ghosts and another that's a Rookie you need experience at LT. That way they don't get creamed on their blindside. I'm not sure if people have paid attention but that's exactly what happened last year. Not only that but as good of a play as Ikem Ekwonu is his struggles come in pass pro. Letting him be nasty on the right side year one would be a smart move while he learns the moves of a NFL DE.

No he isn't.  If he were he would have stayed there last year.  I have no idea why people are soo intent on playing guys out of position and putting them in more difficult positions.  We drafted Ekwonu for a reason, play him there.

Because you don't understand how a offensive line works. It's not as plug and play as you see it. LT is the most difficult position to play in the NFL and starting a guy there who has faced ACC talent isn't a great idea if you want to win games. Especially when you have a elite RT that can play LT. Not only that but you need to protect the blindside of a QB especially when that QB is a rookie or sees ghosts. This is why Jordan Gross started out at RT his first year and it wasn't a "more difficult position" for him. It allowed him to progress and build NFL skills.

  9. The way I see how the offense is done is this way. Fitters/Rhule draft everyone but QB. That's choice is given to the OC. Under Brady just like Payton he preferd to trade or sign a QB. Under BM it seems he preferd to draft one. Imo I'm not sure that's a great idea and you also have Tepper wanting a QB he could sell. So I still see disorganization in the FO and me personally would prefer the GM handle the draft and personal choices but it's not me. If this implodes I'm not really sure who's to blame because it seems the water is about as Muddy as the Mississippi.

Play guys at their best positions.  Moton is best at RT, Ickey is best at LT and quite honestly better than Christensen.

Moton is a better LT at this point. You don't face pass rushers in NC State like you will in the NFL. Facing the slower man especially in run blocking is a smarter move. Unless you just want Rhule and this team to do poorly. Then that would work out quite well.

I can see both sides on this one and I wouldn’t mind it but let's be honest look at some of the horse crap Rhules played at LT instead of moving Moton.... he won't do it.

I could get it if we didn't draft the best run blocking LT this year. But we did and it makes no sense to take lumps at LT. Let's just hope it was more Brady with the poor personal choices on offense and Moton not playing LT being one of them.
