Rhule hasn't really been terrible at the draft. It's one thing he's done pretty well. With that said you see the talent in understanding the draft more with Fitters and morgan. They know when to trade up and down to get guys they want.

Honestly I will say this first. I'm not sure if there is a elite QB in this draft. With that said Corral has good Football IQ which I like and he has a good arm. Those two things I see as minimum to make it in the NFL. His footwork needs improvement quite a bit and if it's not improved he's going to throw ints on long balls in the NFL. To me risk vs reward it was a good pick up. He could do very well in BMs system because he's smart and has a quick release. Still I'm not sure he's day one ready and Darnald with a good line is probably the better option at this point.

The people who are buying into this Mac Jones myth didn't actually watch him play. He's what most thought he'd be - a very limited NFL QB.
Yup, good system and good protection but Jones is a game manager. Still that's all you need sometimes.

Well we need LBs so this works.

Yes but also an amazingly low bar still.
On game day Rhule is still in charge until he isn't. Looks like roster control has shifted some but they have zero control during a game.
You will get no argument with me there. The fans standards are way higher than Teppers.

What has Fields done in the NFL to convince you he's the guy?
Look at his play behind Chicagos horrendous line. There was talent there. Same with Mac Jones fitting NEs system. Fields has a higher ceiling than Jones but Jones has indefinitely better coaching and talent around him. Not to mention if we picked Fields last year we could have had a 1st and second this year and not traded a future 3rd next year. Darnald cost us as it stands a 2nd, 3rd, a 4th, and a 6th. That's 4 picks we could have saved if we didn't trade for Darnald.

If his job is even in question...
Doubtful tho, last yearz early schedule was a cake walk. This year should be brutal. I could see a step back if we roll with Sam.
Possibly you never know with Rhule but just having NFL talent in the coaching department is a step better.

Won't happen unfortunately because we have Sam sitting here taking Cams roster spot. Need to lose Sam to let Cam mentor him I think. I'd much rather go Cam, Coral, PJ instead of the Sam, Coral, PJ we currently have on paper but I don't see a way of getting rid of Sam at this point since we brilliantly picked up that fifth year option and I don't know a single team that would take him paying that kind of money for the type of production we saw last year from him.
Mark my words the Sam Darnald trade will become one of the worst trades in franchise history. Not just for what we gave up but for what the chain reaction caused.

I'm fine with that. Run the ball and fire Rhule with Sam off the books in 2023.
The idea he improves is beyond funny tho. Good luck with that...again
With a new OC and good line he will win more games and Teppers bar is so low for him I'm sure that will be enough to save his job.

I would not be shocked to see an early run on QBs tonight. I could see Willis, Howell, and Ridder all going in the first 10-12 picks. Possibly Corral too.
Last year's mistakes are double compounded. Not only did we pass on Fields and Jones but we gave up a pick that would have netted us a QB this year as well. Talk about a massive failure trading for darnald.

I think it's still the same. We just have better talent evaluators.

He's had no excuses for years. I just hope he can manage a game at this point.

He also said they would be completely fine if they walked away with the first two days being Ickey and CJ Henderson - because they view him as our third round pick this year.
Henderson very well may shock people next year. He has talent like Horn.
-
People hate him but Darnald might be good under this line. Not that I'm holding my breath but that's how I feel about this line.

With the first pick in the draft the Carolina Panthers select Cam Newton QB Auburn.

Also a good way to get permabanned.
The mods and admins strongly dislike alts.
Sometimes. Fiz and a few others have been using alts forever it seems.

I'm sorry but this FO is a show.

The man is an idiot.

I agree but even if he played enough.. He still might not be a LT as good as Neal, Ike, or Cross.. He still was a 3rd rounder while thess guys are top 10 worthy..
They were not wrong on this one. He will make a really good OG if we have a good LT beside him.

If we draft another right tackle I'm going to punch someone in the ovaries.
Well you get another CB then! How about them Apples.

That would be a job killer pick.

I think this kids floor is a solid NHL starter.... Compared to what LaFontaine did with his first start agaist the same NJD (7 goals allowed).
I would say maybe more. Allowing just two goals was a pretty good start.

When he undstands a big more English and learn his team mates I'm sure he stops at least one of those.
Considering he played on the road and first game jitters. Allowing 2 goals is pretty impressive. The Devils are good at playing spoiler too.
Was Matt Corral the Target or a Panic Pick?

Having a quality FO will do that. I'm not sure we have ever had better to be honest. Still Rhule has to coach right for it to work.
