Same.  Feels like we made smart decisions...which is very rare for the Panthers in general...and certainly rare in the draft.

Iwork'm very happy, even if it all blows up...at least it was the right calls...IMO.

Having a quality FO will do that. I'm not sure we have ever had better to be honest. Still Rhule has to coach right for it to work.

  2. Honestly I will say this first. I'm not sure if there is a elite QB in this draft. With that said Corral has good Football IQ which I like and he has a good arm. Those two things I see as minimum to make it in the NFL. His footwork needs improvement quite a bit and if it's not improved he's going to throw ints on long balls in the NFL. To me risk vs reward it was a good pick up. He could do very well in BMs system because he's smart and has a quick release. Still I'm not sure he's day one ready and Darnald with a good line is probably the better option at this point.

What has Fields done in the NFL to convince you he's the guy?

Look at his play behind Chicagos horrendous line. There was talent there. Same with Mac Jones fitting NEs system. Fields has a higher ceiling than Jones but Jones has indefinitely better coaching and talent around him. Not to mention if we picked Fields last year we could have had a 1st and second this year and not traded a future 3rd next year. Darnald cost us as it stands a 2nd, 3rd, a 4th, and a 6th. That's 4 picks we could have saved if we didn't trade for Darnald.

Won't happen unfortunately because we have Sam sitting here taking Cams roster spot. Need to lose Sam to let Cam mentor him I think. I'd much rather go Cam, Coral, PJ instead of the Sam, Coral, PJ we currently have on paper but I don't see a way of getting rid of Sam at this point since we brilliantly picked up that fifth year option and I don't know a single team that would take him paying that kind of money for the type of production we saw last year from him.

Mark my words the Sam Darnald trade will become one of the worst trades in franchise history. Not just for what we gave up but for what the chain reaction caused.

I would not be shocked to see an early run on QBs tonight. I could see Willis, Howell, and Ridder all going in the first 10-12 picks. Possibly Corral too.

Last year's mistakes are double compounded. Not only did we pass on Fields and Jones but we gave up a pick that would have netted us a QB this year as well. Talk about a massive failure trading for darnald.

I agree but even if he played enough.. He still might not be a LT as good as Neal, Ike, or Cross.. He still was a 3rd rounder while thess guys are top 10 worthy..

They were not wrong on this one. He will make a really good OG if we have a good LT beside him.

I think this kids floor is a solid NHL starter.... Compared to what LaFontaine did with his first start agaist the same NJD (7 goals allowed).

I would say maybe more. Allowing just two goals was a pretty good start.

When he undstands a big more English and learn his team mates I'm sure he stops at least one of those.

Considering he played on the road and first game jitters. Allowing 2 goals is pretty impressive. The Devils are good at playing spoiler too.
