The best career QB of this draft class will not be selected #1 overall.

Is this a bold prediction? Having the field vs one player the odds are obviously going to be in favor of the field except for a year with a generational talent like Lawrence/Luck.

What are chances Texans behind all this and want to get out of #2 spot.

I think the most interesting theory I've heard is that Levis is the Colts guy, but they know the Texans are taking him at 2 if we take Bryce at 1. So the Colts want 1 for a fortune, we drop to 4 and take AR/Stroud.

All this being said, by far the most likely outcome here is we sit at 1 and take Bryce Young.

And what if Young goes on to be a star and our QB flounders?

This is just the laziest possible take. This scenario applies with whichever QB we ultimately land on. What if we take Young at 1 and AR goes to the moon? At the end of the day this thing is a crapshoot, and we aren't paid the millions to decide which player is going to be best.

Maybe we really like AR and Stroud.  Let's say the Colts trade with us for next year's first plus some.  They draft Levis, Houston takes Young, which leaves us with AR or Stroud at 4 depending on what happens at 3.  So we would recoup our next year's first and maybe more making the trade DJ and a future 2nd to move up to 4 and get our QB.

-This is all for nothing as we are probably staying at 1 and drafting Young, but at least it is something interesting to talk about.

Young is my QB1 but I think I'd be fine to drop back to 4 and settle on Stroud/AR if it means landing a haul of draft capital.

I just seen Levis at +500.

I wonder if Houston trading 12&2 for 1 is picking up steam. Would make sense that Levis goes next with all the Stroud drama/hate going on.

That wouldn't make sense, if we are drafting Bryce supposedly why does Houston need to make this trade?

Anyone with more solid contacts with the team confirm that? Cause I've also heard most of the team [front office] wants AR and he was the target since #3 was also in play for a move up, but Tepper over ruled everyone and is making the pick Young. 🤷‍♂️

Anti Young crowd: “This thing is on CLAMPS! We DON’T know who they’re targeting, we’ll find out soon enough!”

Also the anti-Young crowd: so and so said everyone wants AR except Tepper!

    Wild guess...

Zack and his buddies found a way to utilize the hype of a #1 overall pick to extract money from gullible fans with more money than friends... again.

Man I actually think $30 is a steal for what RR membership offers, especially if you go to games. The t shirt is usually high quality and at least something I'll wear to the gym, and they have a prime tailgate location and offer drinks for a fraction of the price you'll get at any bar around the stadium.

The turf looked fine on my TV. Crybabies, when I was a kid we played football on the street with no pads.

I really don't understand why we as a fanbase have adopted this viewpoint. We had a franchise player hurt his wrist in this game, and I don't think it's crazy to think the hard turf could have made the injury worse than it needed to be. And we can provide studies for days that point to how much more dangerous turf is for players than grass. Now that we're about to install hopefully a new franchise QB, we need to be setting ourselves up to insulate him in most efficient ways possible and the playing surface does matter. If this leads to changes in our playing surface I'm glad the Lions brought about these concerns.

Its not about picking the wrong QB. Its about the picks given up to get a wrong QB. When you give up multiple 1st rds for a year or 2, thats alot of good quality players given up that can allow us to either get another QB or replace someone who is expendable.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that. But we were at a crossroads. We have built at least a league average roster, meaning we're never going to be bad enough anytime soon to get a top 3 pick to use on a QB. At some point we had to get aggressive and I'm glad we did it now. I'm a firm believer in this QB class, and the teams that can get Drake and Caleb next year aren't trading those picks. I'd so much rather go a year without a first while bringing in an actual talent at QB as opposed to talking myself into Desmond Ridder right now. He looked awful last year, they have an okayish roster, but they'll be stuck at 6-8 wins unless he's better than he looked. I'm not saying going a year without a first doesn't suck, but I do think at some point we had to make this sort of move and I think we picked the perfect offseason to do it.
