I’ve said for several weeks now, but I think the line just basically gives up now because they know Bryce sucks. I know people will say that’s crazy, but when you know there’s little chance that your quarterbacks going to do anything positive, you just kind of throw your hands up. I have no doubt some of them are talking poo.

If there is any truth to this, whichever of them are doing this need to be cut immediately. I don't care if it's Nathan Peterman playing quarterback and Orlando Pace is at left tackle. You will never build a winning culture with a single player that has that sort of mentality.

But I don't think this is true because the offensive line has been terrible all year.

  2. The Lions are a good example. When Campbell got there everyone was pushing QB QB QB. Start there. But their roster was so bad they’ve kind of done the opposite. Sewell, Hutchinson are legitimate culture changing players. We have no one like that. They’ve built up the rest of the roster and are now 8-3 still with Goff. Ideally you build the roster well enough. He starts improving and you can win with him in the right system. If you decide one day he can’t take you all the way then you go all in on another QB with a legitimately good roster in place.

But right now the priority is adding talent. Everywhere

  3. The only priority right now is building up the rest of the roster, you have to give Bryce at least one more season. Let’s be real the rest of the roster is so dreadful anyways it’s not like this over complicates things. If we’re not seeing growth next year we can start talking about other options,  but he is the surefire starter heading into next season

he'll be safe for next year. best way of securing an early 1st round pick (unless he miraculously turns it around).

Yup, if we're smart we're clear with any prospective candidates that the short term priority is building around Bryce. That means adding more pieces to the OL and especially at WR/TE. The thing is, everywhere on the roster needs talent. So regardless of who is playing QB we would need to be adding talent to these groups anyways. Anyone interviewing has to know Bryce is the priority next year, but if he doesn't start showing growth next season they can start looking for alternate solutions. But the QB musical chairs has to stop. Bryce will have a chance under a new staff with hopefully a better roster, but if he still isn't playing well next year or especially the year following then you can start looking for a replacement to step in while hopefully the roster has been strengthened. It's not as disastrous of a spot as some are making it out to be.

From one of Joe Person's colleagues at The Athletic...

Throw in weekly meetings with a meddling owner.

Last year we approached it as we were a few moves away from contending. Surely the understanding this time around is we need a hard reset/rebuild, and whichever coach they choose will have a few seasons to demonstrate progress/growth. Does Tepper realize this? Who knows but nearly everyone in the fanabse is on the same page of thinking on this.

Thank god you don’t run the team.

These people say these things but offer no type of solution. We've had four different starting QB's in the past four years. Maybe just maybe give one guy just a little bit of time to build some chemistry and cohesion with the same players and franchise as a whole. We may have no other option right now besides building this thing up the best we can around Bryce and giving him at least one more, but probably two more seasons to prove himself. The rest of the roster is just so poor. Build that right now and figure out QB later if you need to.

If we had smart coaches we would've under center running power a lot more, with a lot of play actions and rollouts. Its a pretty scorching indictment on how bad the coaches are when the fans can see whats working and the coaches refuse to do what works well

Right, I can think of at least once in the Dallas and once in Bears game where we did play action under center rolled Bryce out and someone was open. He missed him against the Bears but like, someone is at least open. Why aren't we doing this more

We would have week 1-8 Dobbs which was god awful but we'll forget that.

Yeah I understand people on message boards love some revisionist history but acting like Dobbs is actually some franchise QB is hilarious lol. He’s on a Linsanity run playing on a talented offense with a coach that looks like a genius when it comes to coaching offense

You really think that is the biggest difference? You don't see any other key factors?

Sorry, I said that wrong. What I meant is that when comparing their two supporting casts, CJ's OL is a much greater cause for his early success as opposed to his group of pass catchers. Even though both groups are better than the ones we have here. But Tunsil is legit a top 2 LT in the NFL. I watched much of that game today and he has clean pockets most drop backs, this is really important.

Again, Bryce will never be as good as CJ I'm more than ready to admit this. However, I'm not ready to call Bryce a bonafide bust yet. I still think there's a chance he can become a QB you can win a lot of games with if he has a better supporting cast. That's my hope, at least.

That's not fair bro. Haven't you heard that CJ has all pro Noah Brown (who TF even is that? lol)

Look Bryce will never ever be as good as CJ, but the biggest difference I’d say is CJ legit has a top 5 OL by every metric. No excuses for Bryce but I’d at least like to see him on the Texans

I could not agree more. I thought Wilks was not the guy because he would stand up to Tepper. If he felt strongly.

People talking about Wilks is a dinosaur I get it ands I know he isn’t the Best coordinator. But he understands some poo.

I was very vocal about wanting to move on from Wilks. I was dead wrong. The only thing that has ever worked for us in our history is when we have an identity centered around being a tough, hard-nosed defensive-minded team that controls the clock and runs the ball on offense. Our only chance at even being remotely competitive again anytime soon is getting back to those roots. If/when we fire Reich I'm totally fine if our next coach is from a defensive background.

Just a sec now . . . . why would he change?  Yes, 2022 was a bad deal, but it was widely reported that Irsay was meddling heavily - some say telling Reich who to start at QB.  So, before that then.  His Colts offenses were 5th, 16th, 9th, and 9th in points scored the years prior.  That's pretty solid.

I don't know if Reich is the problem.

I am sure that our personnel is a problem.  The decisions made there have not worked.  Free agents, draft, cap, trades . . . it's all been a mess.  And it seems likely that Tepper has his mitts in that too.

Think it's fair to start wondering how much of this was Siriani.

  13. He just seems so vanilla. This is just one small example but even the thing about him not cussing to his players? I'm not even lying that is a red flag to me. These are grown ass men.

I'm convinced we need to fire him and just get back to the only thing that has worked for us. Find a tough, rigid, blue collar defensive coordinator that will come in on day 1 and change the culture. I have plenty of critiques for Ron but I'll never forget the clip of him just lighting the team on fire at halftime of that Pittsburgh game. We need that in the worst way I think. Toughness, no excuses, culture-setting type of attitude.

Lou Anarumo of the Bengals immediately comes to my mind. Frank is just so soft and vanilla in a million different ways.

Brown wanted to end that game.  It didn’t work.  I like the call since we hadn’t thrown deep but once.  Too bad Bryce was properly shook

I just don’t see how this is on Bryce lol. Mingo didn’t create an inch of separation

I will say this: I've never felt so miserable as a Panthers fan.

It’s a bummer. I love this team and the good seasons always felt magic to me, I’m not sure when we ever get one again. There’s not a single bright spot. Not one. Not one anywhere
