  1. Cowboys are already making calls to other running backs now that it appears as though RB DeMarco Murray will be signing with to the Eagles. Cowboys could look to the draft for a replacement to Murray given the amount of depth at the position. Eagles are prepared to pay Murray as a top-five running back. the real issue the amount of guaranteed money between the Cowboys’ offer and what the Eagles are willing to give him. Previous reports have said that C.J. Spiller could be a fallback option for the Cowboys in free agency, depending on how things go with Murray. It’s also worth mentioning that Ryan Mathews could still be available, seeing as he’s yet to officially sign an agreement with the Eagles.
  2. Raiders are signing former Eagles S Nate Allen. the agreement was completed in essence last night, but the two sides wrapped it up this morning. Raiders were hosting Allen for a visit on Wednesday. Allen, 27, is a former second round pick of the Eagles back in 2010. He signed a one-year contract to return to Philadelphia last year. In 2014, Allen recorded 62 tackles, one sack, four interceptions, three fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and five pass defenses over the course of 15 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 28 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
  3. Buccaneers Hosting CB Sterling Moore For A Visit New Buccaneers DT Henry Melton apparently mentioned during his introductory press conference that free agent CB Sterling Moore will be visiting the Buccaneers, Moore, 25, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent back in 2011. He played for the Patriots before joining the Cowboys in 2012. The Cowboys, somewhat surprisingly, didn’t use a restricted tender on Moore, making him an unrestricted free agent. In 2014, Moore appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 46 tackles, a forced fumble, two recoveries and 13 pass defenses for the Cowboys’ defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 22 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players with a solid coverage rating.

Melton receives a one-year deal that can be worth up to $5 million. contract includes a base salary of $3.75 million with another $1.25 million available in incentives. The Cowboys declined to pick up Melton’s three-year option last month, which came as no surprise, as it would have guaranteed him $9 million for the 2015 season. Last year, he was working his way back from a serious knee injury, which was likely the reason for his limited production in 2014. Melton, 28, appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys this season and recorded 15 tackles, five sacks and two fumble recoveries. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 15 defensive tackle in the league out of 81 qualifying players.

  11. NFL Notes: Packers, Ravens, Redskins, Saints, Steelers, & Titans Packers Packers were one of the teams with interest in recently released DL Red Bryant last year. Ravens Ravens are expected to bring in a veteran quarterback to compete with Keith Wenning for the backup job. Redskins recently released DL Red Bryant make sense for the Redskins. New Chicago Bear Antrel Rolle said he was down to signing either with the Bears or the Redskins. Saints RB C.J. Spiller signing with the Saints is not a done deal, but New Orleans remains very high on him. Steelers Troy Polamalu’s agent, Marvin Demoff, said that the Steelers are giving him all the time he needs to make a decision regarding his future. “The Steelers are giving Troy the space and time he needs to make a decision that is very respectful of his 12 years with the organization,” Titans The Titans have GM Ruston Webster, HC Ken Whisenhunt, OC Jason Michael, Director of College Scouting Blake Beddingfield and OL coach John McNulty all on hand for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota’s Pro Day.
  12. Dolphins are interested in free agent CB Robert McClain and are in the process of scheduling a visit. if McClain wound up being signed by Miami, he would replace Jimmy Wilson. Miami recently signed CB Brice McCain to a two-year contract, but it appears as though they’re still in the market for another cornerback. McClain, 26, is a former seventh round pick of the Panthers back in 2010. He lasted a little over a year in Carolina before he was waived and later sign on with the Jaguars before eventually joining the Falcons in January of 2012. 14. Buccaneers will attempt to trade S Dashon Goldson following the addition of Chris Conte. Goldson’s 2015 salary of $8 million could be tough to move for the Bucs. Buccaneers were preparing to release Goldson once they had a deal in place with Conte, but it appears as though they plan to try to find a trade before considering their next move Goldson, 30, signed a five-year, $41.25 million contract that included $22 million guaranteed with the Bucs back in March of 2013. He has base salaries of $7.5 million (2015), $7.5 million (2016), and $6.75 million (2017) coming his way over the remainder of the agreement. According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Goldson will free up $4 million in available cap space while creating $4 million in dead money. However, the best move for the Buccaneers would be to trade him, seeing as they could free up $8 million and take on no dead money. In 2014, Goldson appeared in 14 games and recorded 81 tackles, a fumble recovery and a pass defense for the Buccaneers. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 86 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
  15. Jacksonville Jaguars have released veteran DT Red Bryant Bryant, 30, still had another three years remaining on his four-year, $19 million contract that included $5.255 million guaranteed. He would have made base salaries of $3.225 million (2015) and $3.725 million (2016-2017) over the remainder of the agreement. According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Bryant will free up $4.5 million in available cap space while creating no dead money. In 2014, Bryant appeared in all 16 games for Jacksonville and recorded 22 tackles, a half sack, and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 31 defensive end in a 4-3 defense out of 59 qualifying players.
  16. Saints Making A "Major Push" To Sign CB Brandon Browner Saints made a “major push” to sign free agent CB Brandon Browner on Wednesday, which included making him an offer that would pay him $5 million per year. Browner, 30, had two years remaining on his three-year, $15.15 million contract, which includes base salaries of $1.9 million in 2015 and 2016, but it all came down to his option and the fact that he would have counted $4.8 million against the team’s cap in 2015. New England freed up $4.8 million in available cap space by declining Browner’s option. Last year, Browner appeared in nine games for the Patriots and recorded 25 tackles, one interception and six pass defenses.

The 33-year-old registered 516 combined tackles, 16 sacks, four forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries and three interceptions through 11 seasons with the Patriots. There are a number of AFC teams that would make sense for Wilfork including the Texans, Colts, and possibly the Ravens.
  20. NFL Notes: Andre Johnson, Colts, Dolphins, Ravens, & Titans Andre Johnson WR Andre Johnson receives $10 million guaranteed in his three-year, $21 million deal with the Colts. Johnson’s $10 million in guarantees breaks down to a $4 million roster bonus paid out on March 24, $3.5 million base salary (2015) and a $2.5 million roster bonus that’s due on the fifth day of 2016 league year. Johnson will have cap figures of $7.5M (2015), $7.5M (2016), and $6M (2017). Colts Colts could still make a moves on the defensive end of the ball, it seems safe to say they will go “defense heavy” in draft. Dolphins The Dolphins and P Brandon Fields have reportedly agreed to a restructured contract that will keep him in Miami. Ravens Ravens remain in talks with free agent RB Justin Forsett in recent days. veteran receivers like Dwayne Bowe and Stevie Johnson could be options for the Ravens in the coming week.
