Why do we still throw to Ian Thomas?
electro's horse replied to BIGH2001's topic in Carolina Panthers
Ian thomas’ contract extension is legit one of the most inexplicable contracts in team history. It’s not the money necessarily. The panthers have an out after this season that they’ll probably take. I can’t imagine they’re going to pay his ass 3.25 mil next year. His contract will end up being 2 years, 9 mil, 3 mill dead cap. Maybe the tape says his blocking is worth 5 mil a year I dunno. Money is fake in the NFL. Ian thomas has no fuging idea how to play football. I am not exaggerating. He has not produced at any level. His senior year at Indiana he had 25 catches for 376 yards. He just doesn’t do anything with the football. and you can see it when he runs routes. You can see him thinking “okay ten steps, stop, turn to my left, hands up.” He has no moves, no hands, and no idea what he’s doing. He’s literally going through motions. There was a play last year where he caught a pass in the flat. It was like third and seven and he was five yards from a first down. There were two DBs closing in on him but he’d absolutely have the down if he just put his head forward and ran. He had a head of steam too. It would have been mike Tolbert v Eric Reid. instead he looked like he tried to dive???? But instead of diving he just fell straight down to the ground. The only reason I remember it so vividly is that he stopped like…instantly. no momentum, no slide, just a player in motion who then ceased to be in motion. Ian thomas sucks so hard he defies the laws of physics. and all the teams know it. I wouldn’t be surprised if they leave him uncovered. That Td drop? The other team was obviously in zone otherwise the safety wouldn’t have bothered covering him. As a defense, if you see a pass heading towards a wide open Ian thomas, than the game plan is working perfectly. he obviously can’t catch. He can’t run routes. He literally looks like he doesn’t want to play football. You can MAYBE justify him an EP power blocking scheme, where it’s just “block him” but he’s completely lost in this zone scheme. He and Ickey better be sitting at the front of the room in offensive meetings. just an amazingly incompetent football player. Mind boggling. -

Is Tepper is the worst owner in the NFL?
electro's horse replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
i can confirm that there is someone who's job it is to "test the waters of public opinion" and that means being on here. But that job has been there since the early 2010s -

if he really cared more about winning than his bottom line he wouldn't have installed ligament destroying turf so he could host more kenny chesney concernts dudes a fuging hack. he didn't build a business or create anything; he made money by moving zeros and ones around a spreadsheet. When people like him so publicly and obviously eat poo, the thought shouldn't be "well clearly he must have a plan because he was so successful elsewhere." The thought should be "how have we structured society to the point where a dipshit like this can be worth 10 billion dollars." Same should be said for Elon as well -
The CMC trade was whatever. He's in a better situation, Panthers wanted to run a different kind of offense, and they very nearly pulled out a playoff run by doing it. That's fine. Turning down the Burns trade at the time was questionable. In hindsight it's just horrific and heads have to roll for this. There's no way you could fug up this badly in any other profession and keep your job.

i disagree with Saca that this is the bottom, because I don't think we're there yet. The bottom is coming though. And the wildest thing was how obvious it was how soon. People hand waived preseason sure, but very quickly in Atlanta it became clear that something was wrong. Bryce has looked worse in every start, and it's going to keep getting worse. They don't have the players, period. They cannot play football right now, as assembled. The bottom is going to come with Bryce finally gets hurt, and I think it's going to be bad. When he gets hit he rag dolls. And I'm not saying compared to Cam or whatever; everyone knows exactly what I mean. Him taking hits just looks awful. Even if the offensive line miraculously stabilizes and he can actually step up into a throw, someone is going to get through or hit him on a run and that's going to be it. If Bryce makes it more than 10 games this year, I'll be amazed. If Bryce doesn't end the year on IR it'll be a miracle.

who replaces him? Want tepper to bring in another GM and keep his HC? I think Fitt has to die with Reich, or vice versa. You either have to let one of the young coaches bring in someone who knows what they're doing and knows where the league is moving, or you let them both get 2 years or whatever before shitcanning them both.

Reich assembles this young staff then insists on controlling everything. He’s the middle manager who doesn’t realize he’s holding back everyone else. typical boomer poo.

Has Young shown flashes of being a #1 pick?
electro's horse replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Peyton didn’t look good in the sense that he wasn’t Peyton. He led the league in turnovers iirc but he was absolutely moving the ball down the field and absolutely looked the part im most amazed by how bad Bryce young’s deep ball is. Just a fluttery nothing that usually goes out of bounds.
