Russ did not have some immaculate deep ball on the Seahawks. In fact most of his deep passes were wobblers that his receivers made adjustments for in a way that Mingo could not even dream about.
Bryce threw some beautiful deep balls to Jameson Williams at Alabama. Now that he has a couple NFL quality receivers (hopefully), he should be fine running that scheme.
People said all this exact same poo about Tua after year 1. He can't throw deep, he has a weak arm, etc. Then they signed Tyreek Hill and suddenly he had a great deep ball. Amazing how that works.

Did he post actual clips? Or is all charts
If he posted clips it would reveal that a majority of the uncatchable balls were due to Mingo running the wrong route.

Fans blamed the playcalling on Bryce being limited, even though Bryce had more success when he lined up under center and ran bootlegs. The coaches coached like he was limited, and every time they would break out of the limits they put on the offense, he got better.

I legit think he has Greg Olsen potential.

I care more about my own eye test than about stats, so just look decent to good to me and I'll be happy about the progress.

Franchise Guy says he has the best hands in college, including WRs. Had 0 dropped passes in 2023.

Biggest remaining question mark is left tackle play.

Does he have good hands?
I don't watch college football but that was the highlight package that NFL Network played for him after the pick. Highlighted his pass catching.

Couldn’t go into the season with our RB room, but trading back up for a RB is head scratching.
If he's the guy that we wanted at pick 39, then we came out ahead by trading down and getting the same guy but picking up a 2nd round pick next year in the process.

Gave up 52, 142, and 155. So both fifths to move up in the second.
If he's the guy we wanted at 39 we basically just swapped 2 fifths for a second next year and got our guy anyway.

An RB with hands. Hell yes.

We need an actual pass catching RB but other than that yes, the offense should be miles better.

Against MS ST Legette was measured at a top speed of 22.3 MPH.
Tyreek Hill last year maxed out at 22.07 MPH.

Why can’t I get Cordarelle Patterson out of my head as a prospect
Legette is faster which is wild.

I fell asleep and saw 32 pick Legette. I was like fug you Chiefs. I come here and see we got him and him I like fug yeah!!! Sucks I slept through it.
We got him and also traded almost nothing for it, which is what made me okay with it.

Its like the spiderman meme. Lets draft big receivers that didnt get open in college every year. Eventually one has to not be bad right?
Deonte will be open. We can manufacture touches for XL.

I was down on the Mingo pick even when Smitty suggested him.
Legette film is much more impressive. He can take a bubble screen and break for 80. Mingo wasn't that kind of WR. He also didn't look as explosive as Legette.
That's exact the sort of player Bryce needs, and having that outlet with Gibbs at Alabama went a long way for him.

But does he have that DAWG in him?
Legette does. Smitty had huge input on this pick like I mentioned before. He even said we were gonna pick him. Panthers saw something in him obviously.
Smitty also told the Panthers to pick Mingo.
I'm not having a meltdown about the pick, I don't watch college and don't know any of these guys outside of highlight Youtubes, but yeah Smitty is not a great scout.

Swapping seconds for an extra third is goofy. Just pick our damn picks and don't get cute.

Does anyone actually think Bryce will actually be good?

Having no fear of the deep ball won't exactly work in their favor when XL is yanking deep balls out of the air.
