I still can't believe Old Man Rivers after not playing for 5 years at 44 years on a week's notice came in and put up similar numbers to Bryce and almost beat the Seahawks in their house.

The fact people really believe he still isn't fully involved in football operations means his PR team is doing a helluva job.

Shough made similar passes yesterday (behind the receiver) and they were all caught even when contested (to be honest though, at least one of them was luck)
I will agree though, I wish it had been just a little more in front of him. But I also wish they would have kicked a FG instead of going for the 4th down. I also wish there wasn't an illegal formation call on the 50 yard KO return. I wish the defense hadn't commited 81 yards worht of penalties giving them 6 first downs in the process. I wish Ickey hadn't had a bad day, I wish Evero didn't continue to call blitzes leaving the middle of the field open for receptions.
The point there are so many things to talk about concerning blame and yet Bryce continues to be brought up.
Because we spent a king's ransom for him to be "the guy". It's like everybody else has to play perfect for Bryce to even have a chance to win. Defense isn't going to get 3+ turnovers every damn game. We STILL held an NFL team to 20 points (league average is 23.1) and only put up 17 points ourselves. Swap QB's yesterday and we win. But again, nobody is solely blaming Bryce for the loss yesterday.

Shough did just that on the slant to Olave. Horn had sold out for the pick and if that ball was anywhere near behind him, it's probably a turnover. Instead, we are here.
Exactly. Both teams were fairly even across the board, they literally just won the QB battle. Shough kept drives alive with insanely accurate passes in tight windows.

Perfect. You've watched the all 22 for the game. Now answer my question about why Bryce gets trashed after the loss. What specifically did he do or not do that caused the the Panthers to lose yesterday.
Since we're playing this game, missing an easy TD to Tet if he just put it in front of him. Instead he threw it behind him allowing the defender to catch up and break up the pass (he made an incredible play, but was only possible because Young threw a bad ball). Make that throw and we win. You would expect a 3rd year "franchise" 1st overall pick QB to make that play, because Shough damn sure would have.

I can't make fun of kids that still believe in Santa, because there is grown adults that still believe in the Panthers.
This made me lol in real life

I truly believe this team would be 9-5 (maybe even 10-4) right now with a decent QB. I wanna see Canales with his handpicked QB before writing him off.
Canales still has room to grow. Ejiro has literally won us games this year with his defensive gameplan with damn near no playmakers besides Brown. So that leaves one person..........get that little ass QB outta Carolina.

The Saints would be 2-12 if not for us. We are 50% of their wins. A organization serious about the playoffs does not get bullied by a sh*t team like the Saints TWICE. It's over my brotha.

While I agree, the Saints were also having 10+ minute scoring drives. The Saints pulled our gameplan and limited possessions in the game.
And while the yards looks bad, we really didn't call that many pass plays + Bryce actually made the right decisions for once scrambling/running when there wasn't anybody open. Outside of Coker, it seemed like none of our receivers got open yesterday. It's just annoying that we knew what the Saints would do on defense from the 1st time we played them and still decided to run up the middle against a 9 man box for half the game while still refusing to call any deep passes to make them adjust their defense. We called 2 designed deep pass plays and Bryce went 2/2 for like 70 yards on them...
Agreed on all points. All I'm saying is that there were throws from Bryce that needed to be made to win this game, and he missed em. Shough made tight window throws all game to extend drives.
Bryce didn't play bad at all, he just didn't play good enough to win. But I agree, where tf are the designed deep pass plays? You gotta AT LEAST attempt some throughout the game to keep the defense on their toes. I really don't get it. I don't know if it's a Canales thing or a Bryce changing the playcall thing, but there is no fuggin excuse to not dial it up more times throughout that game. It looked like we had the same gameplan as the first go around. What TF did we do during the BYE? We had two weeks to prepare for a 3-10 Saints team.

Can’t remember what poster said it, but they said if we got swept by New Orleans, we didn’t deserve the playoffs, and truer words have never been spoken. poo is inexcusable. We make Shough look like prime Aaron Rodgers.
That was me earlier this week, and that's why I'm not even mad about this loss. We had our chance, we controlled our own destiny, we had an extra week to prepare, we literally had the division crown handed to us on a silver platter and we choked. We simply aren't ready to be big dogs.

Their QB made more plays than our QB. It really boils down to that. Statistically wise, both teams were fairly even. There just one stat that really stands out:
Bryce Young: 15/24 163 yds, 1 TD
Tyler Shough: 24/32 272 yds, 1 TD and made some ridiculous throws into tight windows all day
That's your game. Yes Canales was a pussy, yes Ejero played soft defense.......but the defense STILL held an NFL team under the league average (which is 23.1). Our "franchise" QB did not make more plays than their rookie QB. Simple as that.

Nothing else needs to be said. You have two weeks to prepare for the 3-10 Saints after getting bullied the first go around. You don't deserve sh*t if you can't even beat em once. This team is simply not ready for the big lights, and I don't think we ever will be unless we get another Cam.

The league average PPG currently is 23.1. We held them to 20 points. Defense absolutely deserves blame for that BS gameplan, but they still held an NFL team under the average PPG, it's up to your "franchise" QB to make some plays to win you the game. Shough was able to do it. 163 yards ain't going to get it done majority of the time.

I look at it like this, if we get swept by the 3-10 Saints, then we have no business even talking about playoffs in the first place.

NFL admits the TMac catch should not have been overturned
in Carolina Panthers
Posted
There have been quite a few instances this year where there was NO clear evidence to overturn a call, and they did it anyway not in our favor. Whatever happened to indisputable evidence?
Anyway, we've been getting hosed by refs for as long as I can remember, notably Peppers bullsh*t running into the kicker penalty. Then the 49ers playoff game, then the superbowl (Cotchery caught that fuggin ball), then the opening night against DEN, etc.
