Only in the SEC. There are just better teams in that conference and the competition is better than other conferences top to bottom.
The 6th best team in the SEC would still be better than the best team in most conferences.
They made a mistake not putting Alabama in the playoffs.
Disagree, if you’ve lost 3 games you have not earned the right to play for the championship.
-
If you have 3 losses, you should not be in the playoffs, no matter the conference imo.

They were all terrible and Bryce was also terrible when they were here. Both are true.

That looks like former SEC freshman of the year who cowardly transferred out, 35 year old rookie of the year candidate, rich man's Bryce Young, and Screen King Bo Nix.
This is spot on and it was good to start the day with a laugh

I haven’t seen him play, but if he doesn’t get separation and he’s slow, that doesn’t sound like a top 5 WR

When his 2nd contract is kicking in, he's going to be a Top 5 WR type of guy
I don't understand the "he looks slow" analysis either, outside of people just wanting every WR to have track star speed. No, he's not a speedster, he doesn't have Jefferson or Chase type of speed, but he's 5" taller than them, of course he's not going to be as fast as them.
But he's plenty fast, I think he's going to run a sub 4.5 time at the combine. If you watch his highlights and think he looks slow, then you're not watching enough of them, he's constantly making defenders miss and running away from them off screens and crossing routes where he's often used. And he's not going to be Tyreek taking the top off the defense with his speed, but the deep ball is his specialty because of his ability to high point the ball and make plays over multiple DB's at once.
His size and hands also allow his lack of elite speed/separation to not be a problem as the QB is able to keep the ball away from the defenders with his catch radius and his ability to block them out. This is where the Mike Evans comp comes from, as he's not some elite separator but it's never mattered, that's T-Mac's game.
He can run every route there is, yes he may need to crips some of his cuts up, get a little quicker off the line, but every Junior in college still has things they need to work on. To think he won't improve on those things is crazy, it's not like he's a poor route runner, that's much harder to teach than for a player to build some quickness to give them even more of an advantage than they already have.
I honestly think his floor is XL's ceiling, a low end WR 1, and that's if he doesn't improve at all, I think he's already that good of a WR right now.
This is easily my favorite quote from your essay: “I honestly think his floor is XL's ceiling…”
I know you are a massive fan, but that might be a stretch lol

I didn’t know he was that fast. When he pulled away for that TD… loved seeing it

He's our QB for 2025 at least it's not the year to try draft one. Plus we put another rookie QB into this side we will be in the same situation. Add as much talent as possible this offseason and let Bryce sink or swim he will either be our guy or we will be looking for one in a much better QB class
I agree 100% with this

I think Bryce had some really good games lately, however this has been a rough one. But overall positive trajectory since coming back from being benched. Depending how we finish the last few games, I would be ok going in to next year with him as the QB.
-
I’d like us to move to a 4-3 and draft Graham to play next to Brown. That’s how you wreck an o-line from the inside.

I felt we were relatively successful blitzing in the first half, then we just stopped doing it, really weird. Greg sounds baffled by some of the things he is seeing. I do know we have tons of injuries, but this is bad.

I thought Jeanty would win it as he carried his team to the playoffs, but obviously Hunter is really deserving. Unique to play two positions at such a high level.
-
Will he show up when it matters in the playoffs? If yes, take him, if no, don’t take him. At least that’s how I look at it.

Took Brooks who was injured during the draft, but wouldn't touch Payton Wilson who was actually healthy because of his injury history. Complete Panthers logic.
Just imagine where we would be right now with Wilson’s 33 tackles on the season? Total game changer

I really want to see this defense get a lot better. Our complete inability to stop stop the run paired with an unbelievable ability to blow coverages and have receivers streaking wide ass open down the field is just infuriating. We had elite offenses during the Howell and Maye years and we could've really made some noise if we just had a serviceable defense.
I can barely remember when we last had a good defense, maybe back in the days of Ryan Sims… So I’m hopeful Bill will finally get that right

@tukafan21 in shambles.
Hunter just won the Biletnikoff award as well. Not bad for the 3rd best WR prospect in the draft.
I might be wrong, but I think they give the award based on their play in college and not how they project to the NFL.

He was an atrocious GM and yet still took a Mac Jones QB'd team to the playoffs. The wheels fell off in the third season after Brady left because, well... again, Belichick was a terrible GM and having Brady and a long line of aging ringless vets willing to play on a discount to chase a ring covered for his years of bad drafting.
To add to that, the Patriots defense were the real MVP in most of their superbowl wins. Everyone talks about Brady and the 3-28 comeback, but the defensive adjustments were special. He might be the best defensive architect and coach in the history of the NFL. Brady would not have those superbowl wins without that defense.

Was basically invisible during the Big10 championship game. I had not watched any prior tape, but kept an eye on him during this one because of some mocks I had seen.
Graham all day long.
I’m the same. I’ve just watched a quarter here or there of Penn State and I’ve never noticed him. I obviously haven’t watched enough to have a real opinion, but I’m concerned he’s an upside/potential guy. I’m prefer Graham or T-Mac at this point, but we have a long way to go.

I had no hope at all, but he’s been very impressive his last three games. I did not see this coming and I couldn’t be more happy if it turns out I was wrong.

Prime 2.0 with a different twist. Let's do it!
Prime 2.0 is a bit much, even for you. One is one of the best coaches of all time and the other is a self promoter.

If Evero is gone and we bring in a DC that runs more of a 4-3.
instead of going for Carter at the top who would fit at 4-3 DE. They opt to strengthen the middle of the DL the same way we did the OL last offseason
2nd: they take advantage of the depth of this edge class. LT is a big athletic versatile beast who has probowl potential at 4-3 DE
I’m 100% aboard with Graham if we move to a 4-3, that would be a brick wall!

One thing being reported is that the play calls come in really early so he has plenty of time to look at the defense, still “talk to” Canales etc. Just one thing, but I can see it making a difference

I actually think Georgia Tech would have matched up the best of any ACC team in the playoffs.
