I think we might try and buy Gardiner out. Maybe he had a slump year but it’s pretty clear the coaches are trending away from him. Paa is a must sign for me. Give him a full offseason and camp with the guys and I bet he could be paired up with Slavin or Skjei.

I don’t think so we brought Brady in post Francis. The reason we got rid of fleury is so we could protect Bean. I could see Francis trying to grab one of the younger forwards he drafted and began to develop if we tossed him a pick too.

Tro and Nino are the ones I think we might see left unprotected. Staal and Necas are exempt but staal still counts against the protection total unless he waves his clause.

Tro’s injury was an MCL sprain. Really wondering what we come out to in the end. Slavin, Tro, Foegs, Nino, Pesce and that’s just what we know about.

Don’t discount the Habs. I’d put them as a serious underdog but…

The islander are my underdog homer. Consider this is an off year for our rivalry. They’ve been slumping and I hate the rangers way more. Im basically set for hockey teams though 1) Avs 2) Habs 3) Isles ——— Nah, Pesce has earned his own line. Paa needs to be in the mix. I could see us coaching up and matching Paa with Slavin this upcoming season if Dougie ditches. Pesce and Skjei have been stupid good despite what maybe be said(neither of them were the issue) We need to find someone we can match with beanie. I don’t know who. But someone that can elevate his game. Cause frankly his game dragged Paa down. The O just needs to get their poo together. That’s two off seasons in a year they’ve shot the bed in a good goalie serious. Hopefully having a pro up and coming goalie will get their poo right.

Frankly I’d give Slavin a pay raise and offer the offside to dougie at 4.5. Just to see if he bites. Trying to think who we could boost on the right side and I’m like there isn’t anyone on the roster, paa is good but he needs to be on a 2-3 line. I really would rather keep Paa than dougie at this point though. Dougie is awesome but he may be the catalyst for change. His future will be if Seattle wants him or not. I would not protect him right now if I was GM, let Seattle poach him and keep Nino AND Tro.

They going the way of the blackhawks next season. I have no doubt the Isles or Bruins will kick their ass though. No way they getting to the Habs/Avs/Knights.

@Rocky Davis I’d keep dougie at 4 maybe 5. Anything less. We can find high shot righty to replace him.

I think it’s gonna be a slump year. I honestly chalk most of it to rod trying to over coach him. He’s been coming off a serious leg injury. He’s been stupid with his penalties. A few months off and a good training camp should correct that.

Canes are going to be serious next season. Ya dougie is gonna be gone if he wants the money is was originally asking for, but that’s about it and we have the extra cash to bring in a few extra top liners. Hopefully we can keep Paa too. That dude plays lights out and could be a mini-Slavin with a little bite. It’s been fun gents. The storm will be surging on the horizon very soon.
