He’s also a year older now and appears to have matured in net. The key is giving the boys energy and putting a chip on Freddie’s shoulder. If we are giving up goals again early Rod has to go to Pyotr. I know you don’t put all the goals on Freddie, but it’s the playoffs. It’s the goaltenders job to bail their defense out on at least one of them. He didn’t on all of them.

He’s also only allowed 2 goals by the rags this season and matched them well, unlike the islanders.

He’s been ok for the past 2 games. 4 goals is not ideal. As Tripp says Pyotr plays up to elite Russian goalies. Leash has got to be short tonight. If Rod goes Pyotr it gives Freddie a chip and it energizes the boys. Tonight would be the night to do it, not at home unless Freddie really struggles.

Ummm no they aren’t. Ullmark played a grand total of 1 game. It’s been Swayman since Round 1, Game 2. If Swayman needed rest I could see Ullmark getting the start in game 2 so Swayman can do both home games. But taking a guy on a heater like he is out isn’t generally sensible.

Florida played a good game, Swayman just fugging owned them. Bob did not. If the panthers can’t figure out Swayman this is going to be a very short series.

So I think it’s safe to say over the last week(not all of round 1 but rolling week average) that swayman is the current heater lead. Dude played out of this world last night.
