Lol, it’s really simple TBH. Remember when everyone was crowing about our huge 2024 cap space? It was at one point over $100M available. It’s now at $40M according to Sportrac and we don’t even have a full team there like Burns isn’t under contract yet.

It’s kick the can and it’s not hard to do but it does mean that we really don’t have gobs of space available like some people thought. We’ll just keep having to restructure yearly. That’s good in that it’s easy to do and bad because it’s not like we are signing tier 1 FAs. It all still boils down to rookie QB and the rest of the draft. We have to start pulling multiple winners so we have Chase and Higgins instead of Thielen and Chark. Pulling a Kelce or Kittle or Andrews at 39 would be a great example of what would change our ceiling.

Well if I'm being honest, part of it is lack of interest 😄

I don't doubt that I could probably figure out the details of the cap and all if I applied myself, but I'm not that into it. And there are guys on here who already understand it pretty well so I can always just listen to them.

I can spend plenty of time analyzing coaches, players, strategies, etc. but I'll leave the economics to others 🙂

i think a lot of people in here, obviously, think they know who we're getting, but they don't really know. because i think the team doesn't 100% know yet. it's all speculation.

of course that won't stop them from coming in here and crowing if they just happen to be right and i guarantee that they will hang on to it for years..."you should listen to me because i was "right" that one time." except getting it right means guessing correctly. it always does in the NFL.

    Pretty much 😄

For me, I'll admit I don't know. Like just about everyone else, I believe it's probably between Stroud and Young. My pick would be Stroud, but I could live with Young as long as he's well protected.

Reich talked about smaller guys who knew how to avoid the big hits and said he's seen Young do some of those same things. That'd be a good thing to know.

Sure, I’m not disagreeing with that, but rather the notion that it was permanent. I remember the posts pretty well. “We have the new Jerry Jones” and “this franchise is doomed, he’ll be moving it out of Charlotte soon anyway” etc.

He had a poor start but it was his first time doing it. It was way too early and while I’m indifferent to Tepper as a person it did always look to me like he truly does want to win. Based on the way he assembled this current staff, suggesting there’s no limit on what he would pay to make sure we have the best coaches possible is reassuring. It’s just the permanent doom and gloom that had set in here that gets exhausting lol

Again to be fair, it's a pretty common human treat to expect that when somebody is a certain way, they're likely going to stay that way (especially Type A guys like Tepper).

Now with that said, yes the people who assumed this were...wrong.

And I'm pretty happy about that 😀

That is great.  However, unfortunately their gluten-free sub roll is awful.

Never tried gluten free anything, honestly. Lady Cowboy Fan's older grandson has an allergy to it though, and he's not a fan.

You think Fitt is gonna keep his job if we go Stroud and he fails? Fitt has to hit regardless.

    I'm not convinced of that.

This quarterback pick is going to be a result of full collaboration between personnel and coaching. Reich (and reportedly Jim Caldwell) will figure very prominently into the final choice.

What do you do? Fire everybody?

Tepper hasn't accomplished squat. He hired a college fool, threw a bunch of money at him, and allowed him to squander draft picks. He then appointed someone who was not a full time NFL head coach but plenty capable of turning around a demoralized team so we could ruin any chance we had at a good qb q/ pick 9. He then hired a retread albeit obvious choice for head coach in Reich but now we are giving away our future and betting everything on a midget or an Ohio State qb. I'll admit Tepper is not a bad owner when I see results and not until then. He's currently sticking his and his girlfriends nose into the qb search.

To be fair, accounts have indicated he's not all that active a participant in the quarterback search. He's just a close observer.

That follows the pattern of the head coach hiring as well. When it came time for the final decision, Tepper abstained and let the football people handle it.

Has he produced anything yet? It's fair to say no he hasn't, but I do like the direction things are going.

Haven't been able to say that for a while...

The important thing is he learned. A large reactionary group on the huddle were convinced he was one of the worst owners in the NFL and had no clue what he was doing and was too stubborn to change.

Well to be fair, he kinda was.

Even Tepper himself has admitted that he came into the NFL with some wrongheaded ideas. Those were what led to the Rhule hire which was then the source for most of the issues over the past three years.

The incorrect assumption was that he couldn't learn. He has, and now we seem to be headed in the right direction.

that last play in the clip where he caused the fumble is one of my favorite plays of all time.  I'm pretty sure it came in the preseason, because  I remember a tweet or post from some reporter with the caption "Luke Kuechley is ready for the regular season."

    You're correct. It was...

Makes you wonder if those vets saw what was coming with Rhule, seemed like a few stepped away right around that time. I'm not sure how much interaction Luke would have had with Rhule to that point anyways to form an opinion, but it sure seemed like convenient timing for a few guys.

    It's definitely a thought...

  10. Clarification...

Offensive and defensive linemen aren't allowed to wear it, but anybody else can.

Also now allowing punters and kickers to wear numbers like you typically only see in college.
