Honestly not with a new coach. New coach often means new QB. When you are a new coach with an abysmal year two QB I think you go in another direction. That being said, I HOPE that BY takes major strides and becomes a decent NFL player. My concern is I don’t think he will ever be a star. I think his ceiling is Jake Delhomme. Maybe that’s enough to will is to a SB like Jake did, but I’m not betting on it, and I’m a degenerate gambler.

I am a little afraid his ceiling might be Mac Jones.

I hate the Bruins has much has the next Canes fan, but they got screwed on that Bennet Goalie Interference non-call

It was reviewed , and apperantly crosschecking a defender into the goalie , then shooting is legal

Good. They get enough "Original Six" calls.

This next game will be the hardest to win.

Win game 5 and I truly think they’ll complete the comeback because they’ll take game 6 at home and by then doubt and pressure will cause the Rangers to collapse.

I am not sure I would necessarily say that because they haven't wilted when we put them in tough spots yet. That doesn't seem to be their MO, unfortunately.

I don't expect them to lay down. We are gonna have to take it.

  4. I have no desire to nuke this whole roster. I said I was nervous about the attrition from the first round and I do believe that was a key factor in not being able to get past the Rangers.

I also think we are seeing some of what the Leafs fans said about Freddie, that he wilts a little when the lighta get bigger. To that note, I want to see a 50/50 split with Koochie next year. I think that is our dude long term, if we develop him correctly.

We have been through doom and gloom almost every offseason but somehow it works out in the end. I think it will this offseason too. We just have to find a little bit better mix for next season and the playoffs. Simple as that.

i still believe, with or without wilks, it was a big mistake not using what he built in half a season as a foundation.

At least you could see some sort of design, for better or worse. I don't think he woulf have led us much higher than around .500 but there would have been something logical to see. The Rhule and Reich eras were the opposite of logical.

I guess we will see what the Canales era(although likely short) looks like.

should of just kept this dude.  I mean, he actually can play 90s era football.

Canales had the worst rush O and ran into fewer loaded boxes than almost every team in the entire NFL

Yeah, all of this is starting to look like another episode of square pegs in round holes. That really does seem to be a Tepper staple.

Most of that investment is Sanders, and I doubt that mistake is repeated again with the new staff.

I mean, we also just used a second round pick and now signed Penny. That's not a tiny investment, although not an Atlanta Falcons level of investment either.

Seems like we are doubling down on some 1990'd era football. Interested to see how it works out

theres no doubt, carolina is getting back to running the ball and beating up the other team.  And with the new tackling rule changes, hard to bring down runningbacks will have an advantage.  If bryce can stay upright and not make mistakes, carolina will not be last in the NFCS this year.

Well we have investing an insane amount of resources at RB the past two offseasons. It better pay dividends.

I honestly wouldn't call game two critical, (I expect us to take both at home)

Im feeling pretty good about game 2 though.

It's critical because there is only so deep you can dig yourself a hole. Two games down is very bad.

Does anyone know if Bally’s is still gonna do a pre-game/post-game show? I’d rather not have to listen to PK and Messier fawn over the rags. Wish we were on TNT/TBS. Really grown to like the TNT/TBS crew this playoffs, which is the opposite of last year.

Yeah, these national guys are tough to watch.

makes sense to make these changes after the draft is over. probably should have been expected. can't really make these kind of moods during the draft season. wouldn't have enough time to get ready for it.

It's interesting that they are on the pro personnel side.

  12. I am honestly mostly nervous due to the attrition. We lost some very capable guys, although I know we are possibly the most deep team in the playoffs.

Still.....I am just nervous. We need to take one of the first two games, IMO. If not, it's gonna be trouble.

Meh, many Packer fans felt the same way about Jordan Love, but I think they are ok with him now.

It's the top ten part that is so incredibly confusing. So, you are gonna have a guy on top ten money, a 24 year old guy, mind you...possibly sitting for 4 years? Well.....why?

The thing is, maybe that front office loves him. Maybe the coaching staff does. But those guys legitimately don't have great odds of being around to see him play(barring an injury to Cousins).

It just doesn't make sense to shell out a massive FA contract and then also use a top ten pick on a QB.

Draft grades are just something for the media to talk about. Not gonna lie, not super excited about our draft but we'll see how they turn out.

It's just "how much did you like these players for this team given their situation."

The draft re-grade articles a few years down the line are always interesting.
