You want to talk about a winning culture, guys on the bench need to know that if they bust their ass and ball out that they'll actually be able to win a starting spot. Nothing more demoralizing having guys know that it doesn't matter what they do, the chosen team favorite is getting the snaps regardless.

Dowdle had a 2 game stretch that was among the greatest in NFL history, and they still sent his ass to the bench to play backup for a guy that was coming back from injury and not even back up to speed yet. Crazy.

Panthers have played 3 teams with winning records

Jaguars - 26-10 loss (down 23-3 until a late game garbage time score)

Patriots - 42-13 loss (down 42-6 until a late game garbage time score)

Bills - 40-9 loss (down 40-3 until a late game garbage time score)

This feels like the true start of the Panthers season. Time to see if they're legit or not.

Had a HAS when I was in college. Thing blew up to the size of a grapefruit. Couldn't even see the actual ankle anymore. I was able to come back pretty quickly, a couple of weeks IIRC. But that ish lingered for a good 8 fugging MONTHS. Could technically still play, but I was limping around like a little bitch.

I really like what I've seen out of Evans so far. Been very consistent and making plays every game, even in limited snaps.

My man is putting some serious time in the weight room. Respect for that.

I'm down to send a 6th to bring in Howell - 3,946 yards in his season as a starter vs 2,877 and 2,402 from BY in his first 2. He needs to clean up his INTs and he takes too many sacks, but at least he can move the ball. Let DC do his QB whisperer thing on him and see how it goes. Worst case scenario you're not losing out on that much anyway.

Also, wouldn't mind bringing in Mariota, but I doubt the Commies would trade him. Daniels has been banged up somewhat regularly and MM has played well when needed. They could still potentially push for a playoff spot, so don't see them giving up a guy they may need to start at QB at some point. Quality backup QB play for a few games could be the difference between them making or missing the playoffs, so doesn't really make sense for them.

The last 24 games - all of last season plus the first 7 weeks of this season - the Panthers haven't beaten a single team with a winning record.

They've had the 3rd easiest schedule in the entire league (#1 in the NFC) through 7 weeks. They've faced only 2 teams with winning records, and got absolutely stomped in both of those games.

Excuse me if I'm not ready to throw a parade cause you barely squeaked out a close win against the Jets and Dolphins of the world.
