Exactly the reason that most expected us to take a fairly large step back this year. Losing those 2 in the same offseason was a huge blow to the overall team identity. There were always going to be growing pains from this transition. The fact that we have barely missed a beat, record wise, should be a huge feather in the cap of both, RBA and E.T. The fact that the team is learning how to win without a shutdown defense, should bear us fruit whenever Morrow and Nikishin are ready to make their debuts. I know Nikko's case is a little complex. But, I'd love to see Morrow get a call up before the playoffs to get him seasoned up for a cup run!

Step away from the suicide booth there, Bender. Even if we go .500 the rest of the way, the Sens or Bruins would have to win 16 of their 20 or so remains games to catch us. If those 2 continue their .500 records, we only need to win 6 of 22 to clinch the last WC slot. I would be extremely shocked if we missed the playoffs. Looked good for most of the period. The shift right before the goal, they had us pinned in the zone, peppering Anderson for what felt like 37 minutes. Idk if that led to the wonky line change, but the whole team looked out of sorts. And, then Chatty, of all people, turns it over right in front of the net.

Orlov (i think) skated himself completely out of the play before that goal. It was hard to see exactly who it was because they were so far out of the frame. The whole line change immediately prior was wonky as fug!

I was only half joking, earlier, freddie threw a shoulder playing the puck behind the net and i did a double take.!

Absolutely destroying them on faceoffs, not much hitting to speak of. Shots are basically even (8-7) now, but they took the first 6 shots unanswered. We tightened up on D and only let up 1 shot the last 10-12 minutes of the 1st. Slavo on pace for 27 minutes...
