According to OverTheCap, it's only 9m dead cap for next year with 12mil in cap savings, right?
Yes, but that’s if we is cut after this season and before next. We literally may have to let him ride the bench until we can cut him after the season.
btw if someone that’s more into the cap could better advise the ins and outs of Robbie’s contract. I ain’t the contract wizard I used to be…

I’m just hoping we cut Robbie first chance we get. So tired of his dumbass….

I'm just hoping we don't have a repeat of "Washington 2020". Never forget that bullshit. Some clowns on here were actually happy we won that game for "the culture". How's that "culture" doing now? lol
The other thing is, you could argue the panthers coaching staff was intentionally trying to lose that game too.
Rivera was doing such a poo job of coaching that he still managed to lose when the Panthers were intentionally tanking. One of the more amazing things I’ve ever watched Honestly.

Ok. Seen quit a few posters on here not only looking surprised, but also upset about todays outcome.
Any chance of the Panthers improving this season went out the window the moment Rhule was fired. When Rhule was fired Tepper wasn’t just letting the terrible excuse for a head coach go, he was also throwing in the towel on the season.
Wilks isn’t going to be the Panthers Next head coach. He knows this, everyone in the Panthers organization knows this. There is nothing to read into anything the coaching staff does or doesn’t do, they will mostly be replaced next season by whoever comes in next. what we are in, is an evaluation process for the team, which players we are gonna keep, who’s getting cut, and who is getting traded. Coaches will be evaluated the same way as complete 100% coaching staff turnovers are actually rare.
We are currently in no man’s land this year, We will not play or have a meaningful game unless we win in an importune time like we did when we managed to actually beat Washington when they had Playoffs on the line, and we were playing for a top 3 pick.
I hope the Panthers play tough and are competitive this season, but we are seriously better off losing out and getting the top overall pick.

If you are surprised, that we lost to the reigning super bowl champions today, you haven’t been paying attention.

Only thing I want to know is what would he have to do so we could terminate his contract for cause.
easily one of the worst contracts ever given out by the panthers to date.

Let’s talk about the fact that the announcers were cheering the hit, which was a clear helmet to helmet hit. Can we seriously ever get impartial announcers on TV and not fanboys that praise an illegal hit? Not a good look for a league that’s concerned about player safety.

so I'm going to call BS on this, CMC isnt going anywhere. he is the only reason anyone watches this team, you dont trade your one good player on offense away, thats idiotic. And besides his contract doesnt allow for it.
as for Robby, nobody trading for that expensive ass contract for a poo player. Robby will go down as one of the all time worst Panther contracts ever. Thankfully he wont be on the team next year, and easy cut to make, especially with the cap savings we will have from cutting him.
This is an easy "some dude on twitter" post. people use your heads.

If he was bidding against himself for Mayfield, I'd say he won.
We got him for peanuts and the Browns ate most of his salary.
I have no issue with the Baker trade even now. We gave up nothing for him.
the Trade for a Matt Corrall is looking kinda steep now but still not terrible overall. I do think we need to slow way down on trading anything 1-4, after round 4 I don’t care.

Yikes
I’ll reserve judgement on this end, Brown is finally playing like the guy we hoped he be in year 3. It can sometimes take time to develop unless you’re exceptionally talented.

Moton and DJ would be tough unless we really don't think we can compete for another 4 years. Shaq and Robbies contracts were desired to end next year. Both will not be on this team.
I can see a restructure for Shaq. He’s the only true vet we have on our Defense right now imo

I'm not up for settling.
After 25+ years as a Panther fan, I've settled enough.
Gotta work on getting hits and getting on base before I worry about hitting home runs.
I’d rather have a batter that hits .300 + than a batter that hits .200 but hits more home runs.
Tho right now we are hitting .010 so anything will be an improvement.

The hard part about selling Panther fans on a defensive coach is that it's all we've ever had.
Beyond that though, the league is pushing more and more toward maximizing offense and limiting defense.
It's much harder to win big with say, a Ron Rivera type than it used to be.
I agree, Rivera’s unwillingness to change with the game is one of his bigger issues but still far better than Jon “stuck in 1994” Fox, I think proven great DC’s are more reliable overall than chasing the “next big thing” coach.

Johnson's initial success came with a team that could just outspend everybody for the top stars. Once the salary cap was implemented, he came back to earth.
No coach who's won a Super Bowl has ever won another with a second team. Yet fans think hiring a guy like Payton is a clear path to a championship.
A lot goes into coaching success, with the organization being a big part of it. That's a prime reason why I cringe when people think hiring someone who's one in the past guarantees smooth sailing.
I will say I’ll settle for consistent winning seasons over super bowl wins at this point. Once we get to where we are at least being competitive season to season I’ll worry about Super Bowls.
right now we haven’t been competitive in years.

In what world is that not a popular choice? Who would complain with Ryans?
Everyone who wants an offensive coordinator, which is mostly everyone.

I’d take Tomlin. Not my first choice but could do much worse than him.
Y’all know Tepper Hated Tomlin and petitioned the Rooneys to fire him. Tepper was a minority owner and basically had no say at the time.

Young offensive options: Ben Johnson, Brian Callahan, Shane Steichen, Ken Dorsey
Defensive coaches: Demeco Ryans, Jonathan Gannon, Patrick Graham, Jerod Mayo
Guy I like best: Rich Bisaccia
Second choice: at the moment, Don Martindale
Guys I don't think are ready: Byron Leftwich, Kellen Moore
Guys I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole: Eric Bieniemy, Sean Payton
Guy I think probably gets the job: Dorsey
What’s your take on Eric Bieniemy? Like I said in my post he was my top choice till I read an article about his “interview” issues last offseason.

2 minutes ago, methodtoll said:
The same argument could be applied to Leftwitch and Bienemy too
I actually would argue that leftwich is another Brady effect OC which imo makes him a hard pass. They literally never work out.
Eric the enemy has been on my list for years but I heard last round of interviews that NFL execs were pretty much saying there’s a reason he’s getting passed over. Not sure what the reason is, but seems like they just didn’t think he was cutout for HC. His résumé is definitely deserving of a chance, probably the most deserving of anyone in NFL right now.

Time to take a step back..(reality check)
in Carolina Panthers

I took it as more of: “yeah, you’re in a poo situation, and if you pull of a miracle I’ll give you a shot”
both know with this teams issues, that miracle isn’t happening. I’d be fine with him coming back as a DC.
