In your mind it might be enough to get it done, but in the real world it won't happen and they wouldn't take it, imo.

Thatā€™s in your mind, not the real world. None of us are getting invited to the negotiation table. Your suggested trade offer is no more valid than mine.Ā

itā€™s the fun of the discussion.Ā
    Ā

difference between ours is I explained why my offer would have had plenty of value, you didnā€™t.Ā No it doesnā€™t have the shock big numbers that people like to throw around. But the value is indeed there.

Problem with these trade hypotheticals is that fans look at all 1st the same and view trades in a vacuum.

Burns might be worth two 1st but what type of team usually makes that trade?Ā  A good team, that thinks they are a player to two away.Ā  Those type of teams are usually picking at the end of the round.

How many teams picking in the top 10 this year would give up their next two first?Ā  probably not many.

So Burns plus #9Ā is really more like a top 10 pick this year and like a 24-32 pick the next two years.

Also its not just if our offer is fair, its how it compares to other teams.Ā  What if Indy offers #4 plus their next 2 1st round picks?Ā  They probably view that a lot better than #9 and Burns.Ā  There is a good chance those two future picks will be top-10 type of picks.

Don't get me wrong, I think Burns is valuable but it would probably be more like 1st and 2nd this year, Burns, and a future 2nd.

So people get upset about these Hypothetical trades as if we are the ones themselves negotiating with the other team. which is a mistake to do so, this is purely speculative and for fun.

But People saying Burns plus #9 isnt valuable enough by itself objectively have no idea what theyre talking about.Ā Ā

    And lets break down why:

1.Ā we have a top 10 draft pick, which is very valuable.

    2. positions by value in the NFL:1. QB 2. Pass Rush DE. Think otherwise? just look at the history of the NFL draft over the last 20 years. only 1 player has gone 1st overall in the last 20 years that wasnt either a QB or a DE. What does that say? DE and QB are the two most important positions on a team.

    3. Brian Burns value is high, very very high! He is a Probowl Pass rushing DE and at the young age of 24. Panthers were already offered 2 first round picks and then some for Burns and already turned that down. So we are alreadyĀ saying Burn's value is higher than that, very high. Probably equivalent to a top 3 draft pick.

That should be more than enough to get the first overall pick. If they wanted anything more I'd tell them to take a hike Burns isnt worth trading for Anything less than a legit Franchise QB level prospect.Ā

I can't see any scenario where they'd trade the 1st pick to us for anything less than our first and both seconds this year, plus our next 2 firsts at a minimum, possibly more on top.

That's WAY too much to give up for any of these QB's in the draft this year. Ā We have way too many holes that are still needed to be filled and that's 3 starters just from this year's draft we'd be giving up there.

If there was more of a sure thing in this year's class it would be different, but there isn't. Ā We fill out those holes this year, maybe take Hooker in the 3rd, and then trade any possible draft pick as necessary next year to move up for a better QB prospect draft.

1st this year and Brian Burns. Thatā€™s a good damn offer. A pro bowl DE is easily worth 2 firstsĀ

Reich wont attach himself to damaged goods in a "I can fix him" deal again.Ā  Hes starting fresh.Ā  Expect Carolina to throw the farm at Chicago for the first pick For Bryce Young.Ā  Guessing 2023 first, 2024 first, 2023 3rd, and a player.

Hard pass on Bryce Young. If Bryce was 2 inches taller and 20lbs heavier Iā€™d be for it. But nothing good comes from being that small in the NFL

He literally stopped scoring points in the 4Q. He couldn't seal the deal.Ā

It is what it is - a lot of you are convincing yourselves that Stroud is THE ONE so I'm talking to a brick wall at this point.

As someone else pointed out, continuing to move the goal lineĀ doesnā€™t make you win the argument.

Bros first time on an Internet forum. Iā€™ve regretfully been on this forum 19 years.Ā

Not really. It's the most important position on the field. If you're trading up for a guy like that he'd better be a difference maker.Ā

He was up by like 3 scores against Georgia and couldn't seal the deal - that's not a good game to reference.Ā

Did you watch the game? Only reason OSU was in it was because of Stroud. Trying to use that game against him is silly. Yeah itā€™s a loss, but not his fault and it was against a juggernaut of a team

    Reddit is better

Not wrong. Problem on Reddit is itā€™s more of a discussion about Panthers related news stories than actual Panthers discussion. And if you want panthers breaking news or insider info you can find it here on the huddle, plus we have Mr. Scot.Ā

True, the Dolphins and Fangio deal is not finalized yet, but the fat lady is warming up her scales.Ā  Here's a very good summary of the whole Fangio saga:Ā

    https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/01/30/panthers-report-dolphins-vic-fangio-highest-paid-dc/

Tepper would have to come in with a ridiculously counter-COUNTER-offer to make Vic leave the Dolphins at the alter.

Iā€™m wondering if itā€™s us upping the offer or the 49ers job opening up. 49ers is a better job but because of taxes heā€™d make more here on the same contract

This is getting nasty about not hiring wilks for the head coach position everywhere online and on t.v, of course I just seen Shannon Sharpe and skip Bayless going back and forth and skip always brings up the race card he thinks it makes him look "cooler" or something idk but....

If you are a true panthers fan you will know that from the very beginning David Tepper wanted a offensive head coach from the get go!Ā

So the whole point for this post is, I KNOW deep down the NFL is like the WWE and its all planned out so... I want this to go down so in the next three years or so when it happens everyone knows I was correct that Steve wilks will get hired this year as a defense coordinator and the NFL will make sure his unit is one of the best so the next year he will get hired as a head coach and then the NFL will make sure wilks wins a Superbowl.

So it's a win win for wilks and the NFL.Ā

Oh yeah and 1 more thing alllll that crap skip Bayless was talking about us not hiring wilks because he's a black man is all B.S and guess what! His "Cowboys" have never had a black head coach ever.Ā

The whole issue here is youā€™re putting any weight into anything Skip Bayless or Shannon Sharpe says.

there literally is nothing more to discuss on the topic, these guys are on the same ilk as First Take with Steven A Smith. Itā€™s allĀ barbershop Trash Talk that they put on TV. Iā€™dĀ care if it was someone that actually uses their brain to form an opinion like Dan Patrick or Rich Eisen.

FittĀ threw away two future top 5 picks!!!!!

He's gonna be a color guy for the dogshit games on Fox and mock us every Sunday!!!

Iā€™ve seen a lot of dumb crying posts on the huddle over the years but the constant crying over us not trading Brian Burns is probably among the top five dumbest things I seen.

every time someone postsĀ a complaint about not tradingĀ Brian Burns your IQ drops 15 points in my eyes.

itā€™s dumb, itā€™s childish, and some opinions need to be kept ton yourself.
